  1. it's over 100 here too with the humidex. so i got suited up and went riding all afternoon. --matt
  2. where are you in ont? --matt
  3. i just wanted to make sure there wasn't something wrong with the machine. earlier today i got some new sprockets, and after some experimenting i ended up with 13 teeth on the front and 44 teeth on the rear. (stock is 14/41) yeah i've definitely lost top end, but 90% of my riding is done in 1-3gear, so i'm not too worried about it. handles much better now...i'm gonna go find that hill this week and see how it goes again --matt
  4. so my shee feels pretty good on pavement in a straight line, goes fast. offroad it feels gutless until it reaches it's powerband, which was giving me some probs last night riding through the bush at slow speeds. on a 10foot hill with about a 40* incline i'm barely getting into the powerband once i reach the top, is this normal? just feels like it takes forever to get into the rpms & make power. i don't know how else to describe it, is this normal? my xl250 and cr250 climb hills faster then this thing does! i have stock sprockets, i was thinking i might go smaller on the forward sproket so i can get into the rpms faster?? --matt
  5. i went to my dealer yesturday and bought the guts of the kicker new. we'll see if that helps..for under $2 in parts it's worth a try i figure...they're the same parts that come in that ebay auction i posted up earlier in this thread btw..! --matt
  6. yeh i found it http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...hl=kick+starter problem is the only place in my town to buy that stuff i need to buy 100 of each of those pieces. that's their minimum sized boxes...not really worth it, i can buy 1/2 a new kickstarter for that. unless someone wants to send me the pieces! --matt
  7. has anyone tried this kit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...sspagenameZWDVW --matt
  8. so when i'm shifting from 1st to 2nd, i seem to have a bad bogging in the bottom of 2nd. once i hit the powerband it's all good, but things seem dead in the bottom of 2nd gear. is this normal? if not, what could be causing it-every other gear seems to run fine wtf --matt
  9. it rattles really bad when running, noisy as hell. dealer is telling me i need to replace the whole unit for $130 CAD. is there another fix for this, or is an aftermarket kickstarter available? --matt
  10. well i went to "the" bike machine shop here in town and asked about the oil. they've been building 2 strokes mainly for racing for the last 20yrs and here's what they told me! "whatever it says on the oil bottle to mix it at, run that!" (which i know was already mentioned in this thread) they also said AMSoil isn't a good oil, barbol <sp?> is what they recommend. they also said on a STOCK engine NOT racing, to stay at 32:1 for engine longevity. they said it's "pretty safe," to run 50:1 on a stock/not raced engine, but expect top end jobs more often. so since i'm stock, not racing, and still have a jug of AMSoil left, i'm mixing it up at ~45 to 50:1...i'm doing a top end in the fall/winter in any case. --matt
  11. well i'm glad you kept the site going, lots of info for banshee noobs like me! --matt
  12. the guy who sold me my shee told me to run it at 10:1 :baseball_shocked: at least i know it's been lubed really well lol. FYI the manual says to run 24:1 on yamalube, and 20:1 on castrol r30, a545, a747 on a stock motor. is yamalube a full synthetic? the previous owner of my quad gave me a jug of AMSoil synthetic, should i try 32:1 on this setup? --matt
  13. yeh i had to use that for the axle nuts :ninja: they're 1-15/16", i have one set of bigass wrenches, but i needed something else to hold the axle in place....so adjustible it was don't ask me how the hell i'm going to torque those axle nuts to spec though! --matt
  14. i tried this exact scam once, back in like 1995. technically it SHOULD work, but ppl just put their names on the list without sending out any money, so no one ever gets any cash in the mail. so ya, i added my name, never sent any money and never received any! --matt
  15. i think i WILL try running without. never had any big foot slippage issues in the past, so should be good --matt
  16. where can i go to buy stuff online for my 'shee? post up places to stay away from too, tia ---matt
  17. pics of the custom skull grill and seat/shock covers? will you ship usps to canada? [email protected] thanks! --matt
  18. pics of the front bumper to [email protected] please! also i'm looking for the right side heel guard, plastic piece with rubbers, have that? will you ship usps to canada? ups kills us on brokerage fees... --matt
  19. well i didn't have any CLR in the house, or that baby brush, but i DID have some polish and wax...here are the results, the one has been polished & waxed, the other has nothing done to it.. unfortunatly the one lens seems to actually have a discoloration, so it's shiny, but a more brown in color. time for some new lights --matt
  20. how much power does my stocker alternator put out, and what is the highest wattage bulbs i can use for my headlights? also i want some new housings, i've heard 'trail techs' mentioned on this site, but can't find where to buy them, or are there other models? thanks --matt
  21. currently there aren't any stickers on mine. worked on it all day today, and the plain-ness if you will is starting to grow on me...i think some new headlights and a new bumper and it would look great. also need some new 'yamaha' stickers for the gas tank, just trying to figure out what color to get them in.. --matt
  22. does someone have a link for these IMS ones? (sorry n00b here ) Climb Any Hill You Point At!! how much are you looking for for yours? --matt
  23. i checked mine today. cold, throttle closed. only 90psi, but both cylinders were the same so i guess that's good. it runs just fine, but i'll be doing a top end this coming winter. once i get the quad back together i'll test it again hot with the throttle open and see what it says. my compression tester fitting is only about 1/3 the length of the spark plug, so that'll lower the psi a bit too, usure how much though....not like i'm racing or anything though, it runs well and that's what i want. --matt
  24. finished going through the quad today, and went to the dealer to order parts. needs new rear bearings, spacer & seals, chain, sprockets, inline fuel filter, new grips, new rear brakes and that's it. here are some pics of the rear bearings...TOTALLY dry and here are a couple pics of the quad --matt
