Hey guys, have a question. I have some CPI inframes and am heading to SL in two weeks. DNR are turning more into Natzi's all the time. I have heard that the trinity end caps fit on the CPI silencers but I dont have the money for that. And then of course there are sparkys but I cant really afford that. I found this right up: http://www.fs.fed.us/eng/pubs/html/03511304/03511304.htm#How How Spark Arresters Work Spark arresters work on the principle of trapping or pulverizing carbon particles that have a diameter greater than 0.023 in. Although they are not always 100 percent effective, a properly installed and maintained spark arrester will significantly reduce the risk of fire. The most common type of spark arrester will trap carbon particles in the exhaust system. It works by screening the larger carbon particles out of the exhaust. Through centrifugal force, the heavier carbon particles are thrown against the inside walls of the arrester and directed into a trap. The most common screening types use a screen or a disc. In a disc-type design, additional discs can be added to reduce backpressure and increase exhaust flow. Us gov says the hole in the mesh has to be .023 inches or smaller to be legal. Technically could we find the same screen and just make our own? I mean I have bought stainless screen and screwed in into the end cap so the zip tie doesnt go through, but now the DNR must have had a "spark arrester screen class 101" and they just look at it and laugh. Any thoughts?

Ok, trade fell through, these are back up for sale, I lowered the price as low as I want to go on it, $325 shipped. On a side note, these pipes have a dent on the right expansion chamber, inside, they shipped to me new from DMC like that, when I called they said it was by design to fit past the frame or head. Maybe another DMC owner can confirm.
-
Yes, they sound very cool, but also because of how they mount under the seat, all Ducati like
-
yeah, thats a spark arrester made by DMC for the 916's. The rear fenders are Fullbore along with the front. Currently I am in the middle of a trade for some CPI inframes, I will let you guys know if its falls through.

Still for sale, one last bump..... -
I am selling a set of front and rear rims from my 98 banshee, that I had powder coated black and then clear coated by Gladwin metal processing. They have never had any tires mounted on them. I am asking $150 shipped, or $120 for local pick up, the rims can be in Midland, or Saginaw, MI

Quick updated, everything firehead was discussing confirms it. I put the 425 spring on the stock shock, put it on and it didnt do jack, the thing still dropped to the ground. So needless to say I had to take the raptor to silverlake. I called TCS and they guy laughed at me when I told him about the 425 spring, said it wasnt even close. I am sending the shock out there sometime this week for the conversion. So I have a 425 hypercoil for sale now.

That is good stuff right there, thanks firehead! I should have gone for the 475, dang it! I am hosed tommy, hosed....
-
Good point firehead, I have thought about a bar instead of the spring, ha. But my 425 spring just arrived, I have to try that tonight. does anyone know the stock spring weight, if that is the correct term.
-
So you think cranking down the 425 Eibach spring on the stock shock will keep me good until I can get/rebuild the rear shock? Whats the best way to replace the spring, any tools that I need?
-
You think the heavier spring will help for now?
-
Thats kinda what I figured, I called GT thunder, they are going to overnight a 425 spring and hopefully that will help. Whats the best way to install the spring on the rear shock?

Having a problem after the install of +6 Swinger I have a Wheelie bar mount on my swinger and DMC 916 pipe. The wheelie bar mount hits the bottom of the silencer. Problem is I am going to Silver lake on Thursday, nothing like last minute. Anyway when my 245lbs tanker body sits on the it no the silence rests on the wheelie bar mount. How do I adjust the stock rear to be as stiff as possible. I don't have time to get a new spring until after I get back.... Here is a pic of the swinger: http://www.theweberproject.com/gallery/v/B...300113.JPG.html

Excellent, thanks for the information, done, done and done. Installation went pretty good. Had to drill out the hole for the shock to mount to. Other then that looks pretty good.
-
yes, i think I a saw a grease zert on there
-
Do I need to grease anything or are the bearings enough?
-
I have searched for this and didnt find anything, so I am asking what could be a stupid question. I have never messed with a round house carrier before. I bought a GRR +6 Swinger with a round house carrier, I also got the Gforce axle from Rocky. Just wanted to know the steps to throwing this all together so I dont screw anything up. The round house does come with the brake bracket, and all bearings are supposed to be installed in the carrier. Just wonder if I need to grease some or if the axle goes in the carrier and then the carrier in the swinger?? Thanks!
