Sorry for not getting back sooner. Tonight a local guy is coming to most likely buy the entire quad. If that doesnt go through I will start posting pictures of individual parts. -
So I just started to disassemble the banshee... I hate disassembling, would someone give me $3,500 for the banshee as is?

Prices are best offer, so if you think its to high let me know. If you would like something please give me some time to take it apart, and find boxes to ship. I would prefer to meet or have local pickup for this stuff. Motor is locked up, if you are interested in motor parts let me know. ha, roost boost. Thanks crazy and whako. Good advice.
-
Thanks wacko, appreciate the advice. I agree with what you are saying. Going to start the part out next week. You think selling the motor in pieces is better than trying to sell it as a whole or having it repaired? Whats the best way to part out a motor? What are the "important" parts?
-
Not really sure where all the cynicism is coming from. Its not my dyno. Its a dyno. The numbers are there, they aren't doctored. I guess if a dyno needs tuned up so that its more accurate that might be the case, you would have to take your complaints up with Angus Kennedy. Trinity advertises 110 horse, I got 87 with CPI's, 99 with shearers. 110 seems a bit high but that's what a manufacturer does. Regardless I dont really care. I am selling it.
-
Yep, thats what the sheet shows.
-
Here is the dyno results. I was wrong, it was 87hp on the CPI and 99 on the Shearers. They dyno sheets arent from Trinity, they are from Kennedy Powersports. He did the dyno test for me.

CPI's

I forgot the cylinders were nikasil, I am dropping the price to $4,500. Also, on the guys looking at the tires. I have to sell them with the bike, I needs all the help it can get. If I cant get 4,500 for it in the next week or so I am going to part it out and the tires will go up for sale.
-
That would be an easy one to check. Let me take a look. Thanks for the info!

1998 Yamaha Banshee • Trinity 421cc Cheetah Banshee Kit - – 99hp on Dyno with CPI inframes / 103 w/ Shearers o Pro-MX Port o Power Valves o Trued and welded crank 4mm Stroke o Delta v-force reeds o Trinity Superlight Pistons o 150hp+ rated clutch kit • Powder coated frame with title • Powder coated after market bumper • Powder coated foot pegs • Stainless steel bolt kit • Grand River Racing +6 swingarm with wheely bar mount round house powder coated • CPI In frames Chrome • Fullbore plastics w/ matching seat and cover • Torch Worx High capacity Radiator • Ricky stator +2 A-arms, +5/8th forward • Works Triple rate fronts • TCS rebuilt rear shock for 250lb rider dune +6 swinger • Tusk adjustable rear axle round house • 2 x 35mm Keihin PWK • Tag Handlebars • DG Nerfs • Skat Trak Extreme Sand paddles 22x11x10 12-paddle, douglas blue labels o One rim needs to be replaced • AMS Blacktail with douglas blues for the front. • Stock raptor tires rims currently mounted and included. • Lots of other extras I can’t think of. I had Kennedy Powersports do the dyno testing. I have the paper around here somewhere. It was around 99 with the CPI's and he put his shearers on and it got over 100. Here's the problem. I took the engine back and put the banshee together myself, obviously I didnt do something right because about 25 minutes after riding it the engine locked up. I cant kick start it, and when I try I can hear the piston, or what I think is the piston hitting something then stopping. I dont really know what I am doing when I put it back together so if someone buys it they would need to pull the motor fix it and put it back in properly.... From what I have gathered from talking to different repair shops I am guessing its going to be around $600 to fix it. I dont have the money to do that and my only other option would be to part it out. I am taking $800 off the price I wanted. I am asking $5,600 OBO. This was a project I started about 11 years ago, and dont have the time or money to keep going on it. I have only had it running as a high horsepower banshee for about 60 minutes total.... both times I had it up at silver lake, raced my buddy once and then the first time the clutch vaporized, the second time, I killed the motor.

Hey guys, last summer I think I seized the engine in my 421 cheetah. I dont know what I did but I am guessing I had an air leak somewhere. I need to sell it anyway, but dont trust many places with my baby. I want it repaired right and not have someone take good parts off and put stock or junk ones back on. Does anyone know a good place in Michigan that would repair the old girl and put her back together right?

These are stock banshee rims, that I had powdercoated, keep that in mind if you are buying them to go rock climbing, or anything having to do with lots of rocks. I originally was only going to use these in the sand. But changed tire size and didnt want to have two different color rims. These have never been mounted. I have no idea how well they will hold up to trail riding. Maybe someone with PC'ed rims could chime in and let us know how well they hold up.
-
I have a front/rear set of black glossy powder coated rims off my 98 banshee, they are the stock gold ones. I had http://www.gladwinmetalprocessing.com/ do the work. They are sand blasted, baked, PC'ed, then clear coated. I have never mounted any tires on them. I paid $100, 25/rim to have them done. I would like $95 shipped.

Well I got the alba screen kit from fouled out and cut it to fit, crammed the end of the CPI's back on, broke/stripped/cross threaded the end cap screws back in and it seems to look solid. I am sure they will blow out and the only way I will be able to get new screen on is with a hax saw and a tig welder. I agree bronco, the right way is always better. I am going to save up and do what jbooker did with the trinity end caps, those look amazing!!
-
Good call, I called Alba yesterday and they wanted me to give them a size, I needed to mesasure and call them back. For the 1 screen kit you are talking about was there a size?
-
WOW, those look nice. that would be the way to go if I had time and money. maybe some day.
-
Blue, what kind of pipes are those? Do they have a spark arrestor?
-
I just thought of something, It might have to say "US forestry approved" to be DNR legal.
