I adjusted the pick up and unwound the wire harness and all the wires look to be in good condition. I have given up at this point. I will hopefully find a good mechanic to get it fixed.

I replaced the stator and still have the same problem. I have checked all the wires for continuity and they all check good. I bought an ohm meter but I am at a dead end as to what I should check next? This really sucks

Hey Ben, Thanks for the reply. I did use my friends coil and CDI, I also ran an additional ground to the frame right off the coil. I am probably going to go buy a Ricky Stator and install it. I am fairly certain that is the problem. Its funny, I own 5 2-stroke street bikes, a CR250 and 4 quads and this is the first time I was actually thinking of taking something to a shop

Last trip to the dunes on the last day my 96 Banshee started to run a little rough in one cylinder. I sprayed some lube around the reed cages and the idle changed. After trying to make a quick fix The bike would no longer start without starting fluid so I thought that maybe some top end damage had been done. I took apart the top end and had my machinist spec everything. He said the rings were a little worn but everything was in good overall shape. He honed the cylinders and I put in some new pistons/rings. The bike still wouldn't start without starting fluid and runs poorly. I cleaned the carbs and checked the spark. It is there but very weak. I took apart all wiring connections, cleaned the run/off switch and basically made sure everything wiring was clean and connected. At one point I was checking the spark with the plug in the boot and it was great, then it went back to weak. I thought maybe it was my coil or CDI so I borrowed my friends coil/CDI from a running bike. The spark is still weak and the bike won't start. At one poing again while checking for spark it looked great then back to weak. I am at a loss. I have a feeling that it is the stator or something under the side cover at the end of my crank but I don't know how to test for that. Everything under the stator side cover looks clean/dry and nothing appears loose. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I am hesitant to take it to a shop for an electrical problem but it may come to that. BTW, the bike is mostly stock with pipes and a filter.

I am looking for a good set of exhaust clamps. The rubber hoses don't seem to last very long. I would prefer a Billet set but.... I will be using them on my T5 pipes Thanks!

Hopefully I will be able to edit my post but its not looking promising. Paid 80overShee for a Hush kit April 5th. First Jeff said he mailed it but it came back as a wrong address. Then he said it was mailed but I never recieved it. Now he won't respond to the Paypal resolution email, my PM's on this site or regular email. I have been very patient waiting for 2 months and I hope he follows through with the deal or at least returns my money. If we come to a resolution I will edit this post.

I bought a Hush Kit from him 50 days ago and never recieved it. All I got were excuses as to why it wasn't mailed

I would replace it. A cost of a new helmet is not worth the chance of having to wear a helmet full time.

I just bought a 4" extended swingarm so I need to extend my chain. It is a 520 oring chain. I am also looking for a set of Nerf bars with Red, yellow or black netting.

99 Banshee with title being parted out.

I am interested in the Nerf bars and the front bumper. How much for each or both? -
IMHO the word "Divorce" should never be said in a marriage unless the marriage is heading that way. I own several streetbikes, and while my wife doesn't like them or ride on them, she knows they make me happy so she puts up with it. If there ever comes a day where my wife threatens to divorce me for something I enjoy or want to try out, I will gladly have the papers drawn up as the relationship would be over anyway. We only have so much time on this planet so use your time doing things that make you happy and ditch the dream killer. I have been happily married for 12 years and neither the wife nor I have ever said the "D" word when talking about our relationship.

I forgot to mention that I am on a budget so the bikes will most likely be 4-10 yrs old. It has to be straight auto. My wife doesn't really want to ride and if there is anything at all complicated it won't work, and no, its too late to trade her in for a different model

I am looking for 2 Quads, one for my wife and one for my daughter. They are going to be used mostly at the dunes. They both must have an automatic transmission. I am looking for a 250cc for the wife and 80-90cc for the 7 yr old. What are some good Quads? I have been looking at Polaris only for the wife since its the only one I know of that has an auto tranny. For the kid I am unsure. Thanks for any suggestions!

Sounds like fuel starvation. I would check the petcock and if you have a friend with a running banshee, trade carbs and see if it still does it. Do you still have TORS?

When asking a question like which is better. I would suggest saying: "has anyone Dyno'd a set of t5's and t6's on the same bike? What were the results?" You will get a ton of opinions on which is better according to how someone feels or what they heard was better but facts are facts. There can also be issues with propper jetting, timing etc... where one pipe performed better because the other pipe was incorrectly jetted. I have seen a stock motor get more rwh with the T5's and 2-1 y-boot than the same motor with t6's and 2-1 y-boot. The t6's had a slightly better bottom and mid which might be good for some. Personally I think that Toomey marketed the pipes for a stock motor because they needed a new market, not because they perform better. my $.02

I am looking for the Toomey Hush kit for my t5's If you have one for sale, let me know. Thanks!

been running synthetic got gummy build up
KenC replied to shredder's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
The air screw is only good for idle speed. Sounds to me like your top end is fine(main jet) but your needle and possibly the pilot jet need some change adjustment. I would try lowering the needle a notch and see how it goes. I have been running synthetic oils in my RZ, RD400, Banshee and my NSR250R and never had any issues. Good Luck! -
Are the LRD pipes the adjustable kind?
-
I have been pretty surprised at how low the prices are for a Banshee around the US. Here in Oregon you rarely see one for under $3000 and usually that would be an 87 that is duct taped together I paid $3450 for my 97 all stock except paddles with very few hours on it and I thought it was a good deal. I looked at over 15 bikes and not one of them was under $3000. Good luck selling your ride! Wait it out and you will get what you should
-
I should clarify, I am looking for a complete exhaust system, chambers and cans. I just realized I never mentioned the exhaust tips.
-
I just bought my first Banshee. It is all stock and I am looking for a set of chambers. I run almost all dunes. I would like some t5's but I am open to suggestions. Thanks!
