  1. Yup, repainted the next day, it was nice, clear and about 65 degrees. Put two more coats of black on and 2 coats of gloss and they look pretty good. Thanks for the help. Oilsmoke, looks like a real nice bike you have there.
  2. I just painted the lads white Blaster with some black Krylon Fusion paint. 3 coats and its pretty dull. Does Krylon sell a glossy clear coat that can be applied? Thanks.
  3. How fast are the XR650L's? A friend of mine just got one and is hyping all the time how he smokes everything. I know bikes are quick but seriously, can that beast stick with a ported/polished shee?
  4. Have you tried your local Yamaha stealer?
  5. Toomey sends you dynojet needles. 200's are stock, work your way up or down, although if your at sea level 200's are probably the way to go. Sputtering in the mid is your needle. I would not go out and buy new needles, like Rod says, adjust the needle to the middle position and my guess is you will have to go up 1 or down 1. Good luck.
  6. You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
  7. I picked this up for, get this, 1200 bux. New motor, hubs, tires, clutch, rebuilt trans, brakes, exhaust system with headers, springs, shocks. The thing drives straight as an arrow, steering wheel dont pull at all, shifts great. Just a great little 4X4. It needs a new radiator and windshield, thats it. My point is there are good deals out there, just take your time.
  8. I would bet your carbs are outta sinc.
  9. Go with the Rockets or CPI. CPI's you dont have to cut the fenders. GO with the best pipe and you'll port into them. It'll save you time and money in the long run. I have both pipes, (T-5's and CPI's) on the shees here and CPI's are the better of the two, IMHO. Good luck.
  10. Is your parking brake unplugged? Have you removed or unplugged your TORs yet? I would start there, particularly the parking brake.
  11. Go CPI. Great for a stock motor and when the top end goes, you'll just wind up getting her ported, like we all do and thats when the CPI will out perform most any pipe. As far as head mods, go with DL Noss. He posts on here, seems like a pretty square guy and makes, what I have read, an outstanding head. 20cc domes will do the trick on pump gas at sea level.
  12. I dragged a guy last time I was out (last summer ) who was spouting about the porting his bike had, how awesome his two into one carb setup was and his 2 into 1 pipe was the shit. And I'll be completley honest, it really sounded fast, really, really fast when I heard him dragging a few other bikes. I lined up next to him on my 94, with him still yapping I and absolutely blew his doors off. At least 6 bikes after not that long of a drag. I also got him off the start, which is very surprising. My shee is not built for the hole shot, I run a 17 tooth front sprocket and have a drag port with 33's and I was jumping ahead of him at the line and just pulling away from him, fast, in all gears. I dont really think the 2 into 1 pipe is what its supposed to be, neither is the 2 inot 1 carb, in my opinion.
  13. Welcome to the HQ. This is THE best site for anything. You can repair your washing machine, install a pool liner or just make you shee perform the way you want her to with the wealth of knowledge everyone in here has. As far as your mods, I would first invest in a pro design foam filter with the aluminum plate. Next pipes, and that is a completely different subject. Give us you riding style; eg. dunes, trails, drags, a little of all, and there is a pipe to fit your needs. After your pipe, I would recommend new rear tires, V-Force, timing advance and a lightened flywheel, in that order. All of these mods are pretty straight forward and can be assisted by someone here at the HQ. Another thing thats great to this site is the search function. Use that and if you still have questions let us know. Have fun..
  14. I have CPI's on my machine and T-5's on the machine I gave my son. Go with the CPI's. Very, very good for a stock motored bike, outstanding for a ported 'shee. Trust me, you'll get yours ported before its all said and done and you will be VERY VERY happy with the CPI's when you do.
  15. My prayers are right there with this kid. Staph aint enough to hurt a strong willed dude. Get well soon.
  16. Actually he is kind of an airhead. I've purchased 2 trucks from him, my 98 1500 4X4 and the wifes 01 Durango. I also had my Mom by a Stratus from him and I introduced him to a few friends of mine who ALL bought trucks from him. I called him on purchasing my wifes Durango and he called me back on the 03. I guess what I'm trying to say is he is a pretty good guy, I have thrown him major business ( 1 car and at least 5 or 6 pickup trucks, probably more like 10 or 11). I would really hate to think he is trying to fuck me on this. But it is the nature of the beast. I have also heard the frame is different on a third row rear seat on the Durango as opposed to just the two seats. Thanks for the help.
  17. Man, you all really have to step up to the high life. Stop pretending. Miller High Life kicks major arse , in a bottle of course. But there is a trick. Buy a 12 pack, open it up and grab one, throw 2 in the freezer and keep the rotation going till your done. Its the best beer, trust me. I've tried em all, Miller High Life is the best, hands down. In a can they really blow though, you gotta get the clear bottle.
  18. I'm planing to buy the wifes 01 Durango in June when the lease is up. I got a call from the salesman I bought the truck from who said he has an 03 with 19,000 miles, (mine has 41,000). The 03 also has the remainder of the factory 8 yr. 80,000 mile warranty where I would have to purchase a 4 year warranty from the dealer, if i wanted one. Also the price is the same as the buy out with the wifes' and this newer model. The problem is this, the 03 does not have the rear, or third seat, which I really need. I am not against purchasing my wifes truck as I maintained it perfectly but lets face it, its gonna need brakes, and a set of tires pretty soon. My question is can a dealer install the rear seat or is this a factory installed item? I posted this on a Durango forum with no results as of yet. This is the best forum of ANY kind so I'm looking for anyone that knows the deal with factory or in this case dealer installed items and their liability. Thanks, Bob
  19. Yeah but they still suck ass.
  20. Bud, I have a suggestion, SELL HER. I had an 80. About 3 months after I brought her home the motor spun a bearing. So I had a LT-1 motor thrown in and rebuilt the trans with a shift improver kit. Thought that was it. Well guess what, not yet. She ran hot, so I pulled the water pump, and threw a high flow edelbrock pump in. And in doing so I fucked up the radiator on its way out, so that had to be welded. (Which my brother in law squared away for me). Man, Vettes really, really suck to work on. So anyway, I was in the process of replacing the interior, this and that, that and this and guess what, my T-Tops got stolen, in front of my house, IN THE RAIN!! So back to square one there. All the shit I fixed was now FUBAR! I replaced the parts that I replaced to begin with, AGAIN, and started saving some money and the last straw was, and get this, the power antenna just kept powering. So much so it drained my battery, ALL THE TIME! IT ALWAYS HAD TO JUMPED! THATS IT!! That was my last friggin straw, I sold her to a good friend of mine, (after I told him she was a piece of friggin shit) and got into quadding and inevitabley banshees. Which, by the way are about as tempermental as Vettes. Umm, good luck
  21. If you have oil coming out of your silencers and it smells like burnt oil then you have a blown crank seal. I just did that job on my 99 at the end of last season and it sounds like your problem.
  22. Tors unplugged, parking brake unplugged? Sounds easy, but easy to overlook.
  23. -Caddyshack -Smokey and the bandit -The Shining -Full Metal Jacket -Animal House -Dumb and Dumber- favorite scene is when Lloyd and Harry are going to the benefit dinner. Outside they're sword fighting and as Jim Carrey turns to walk inside Lloyd cracks him in the back of the knees with his cane. I literally can whatch that over and over. FUCKIN FUNNY. -Napolean Dynamite-new but friggin hilarous -Bullitt-awsome movie with an outstanding chase scene, great rides. -Fast times at Ridgemont High -Vision Quest
  24. OUTSTANDING! Looks awesome. I really like the space. I remember my first house, you would have thought I was living in a castle cause I thought I was. Anyway, enjoy it, live in it and let the equity build. Make that house work for you, the best investment you could have ever made.
