  1. What is the bore? Don't know. I have never had the engine apart. Ever find out compression? 115 left, 110 right. Is the crank welded? Don't know. Is it trued? Don't know. Is it coming apart? Please take a look at the youtube links I provided. The clutch, is it good? It shifts, disengages, and engages with the quad on a jack. I have never ridden the quad. Have you done a leak down test? No. I don't have the tools to seal up and pressurize the engine to check for air leaks.
  2. No, the title goes with the frame. I can provide a copy of the title.
  3. You crack me up. Look at the photo. The numbers are legible and different.
  4. Hey kawa110, Yes, the title records the VIN and the engine number. Both the physical VIN and engine number on the quad match the DMV title. I don't know the compression. I will perform a compression test this weekend and post the results. No leaks that I can see. Quad has been parked on the same spot, a concrete driveway, since I posted the videos and pictures. Nothing but dust on the driveway. The picture above should give you a good idea what the bottom of the engine looks like. Thanks for asking about it. Let me know if you could use some other photos.
  5. Hey there n2otoofast4u, thanks for looking. I didn't think the price was out of line for a running engine. I just now checked ebay and found a 1998 model year engine for $1375 and it is out of the frame. I thought there would be some value to an engine available for inspection, attached to a titled, rolling quad.
  6. Bump. Let me know if there are any questions I can answer. Thanks.
  7. Here is one I have for sale: http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/186108-2001-banshee-complete-running-engine-1200/ PM me if you're interested. Thanks.
  8. Here are a few pictures of the engine I have for sale:
  9. Hey there She_fast, thanks for looking but I'm not intending to part out the engine. I'm hoping someone here could use a bolt in running engine.
  10. I will be parting it out. I would like to sell the engine first.
  11. I have for sale the complete running engine, minus the carburetors, out of a 2001 Banshee. I bought the rolled over quad for a few parts that I needed for my quad. I have never ridden this quad so I can't answer any questions about it's history. See the links below to hear it run and shift. I would prefer a local sale so you can see and hear it run. I do not want to ship. Cash deal only and we can pull the engine out of the frame on the spot. I have a clear title and current registration through 2018 in my name so no issues there. I will be parting out the rest of the quad after the engine is sold. Located Southern California, zip 91790. Thanks for looking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpg5yaUFKa8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9FFlz2xFf8
  12. We're heading out tonight. Camping somewhere around Wash 10. Have fun everyone!
  13. Yahoo! We're leaving now. Camping somewhere after wash 10, whatever looks clear. We will be at Olds Sat. afternoon.
  14. I'm the second owner of this quad. My friend bought it new and within a couple of years put these pipes on it with stock mufflers. I got it in the early '90s after he got tired of new top ends every time out. A broken water pump impeller will do that. Anyway, I put some FMF spark arrestor/mufflers on it, some 300 mains and have been duning it ever since. Haven't been beaten by a stock or piped 450 anything. It runs great, seems to pull from very low rpms and revs as far as I dare. It keeps up with most of the mild looking 'shees. I get beat by the good ones though. I'll shift it into 5th right near the top of Olds.
  15. Do yours look like these? I,ve been wondering what these compare to.
  16. Thanks Chris Went to my local Yamaha dealer to look at some pipes. None seem to have what I would call a stop ring or seal ring welded about an inch from the end of the pipe. Stinger fits well into the pipe, just a small angle mismatch. The problem seems to be that ring. The rubber seal coupler fits over this ring. I don't see a need for it. Was this a FMF attempt to add a dam and prevent leaks? I'm thinking about ginding off the welds and rings. Newer stuff doesn't use it. Thanks again for any input.
  17. These don't say fatty or gnarly like the newer stuff I see. Just "Gold." They feel like a low to mid range pipe. Is there a way to measure or compare them with later pipes? If they're comparable to later pipes I'll use them. Is there more to be had with newer stuff? Just don't want to spend money if I can work with these to build a good sand play quad. Thanks.
  18. First time asking for help. I've tried the search with little luck. I've got some old FMF Gold Series pipes that don't line up or come close to fitting the silencer stinger tube. The FMF silencer is stamped as an ISDE model. Looks like a turbine core muffler. Quad runs great, just keep tearing the exhaust boots and they always leak. How do these pipes compare with later FMF stuff? If they are really old school, what would be a better pipe for fun sand duning only? Mufflers look great and I'd really like to keep them. Thanks ahead of time for the help.
