yea, the clutch was toasted and the basket was also, Jeff said if I toasted the clutch and the basket was bad that it wouldn't be a bad I dea to replace the inner and outer hubs, plus this way I know exactly what I have in her
-
well come to find out, my clutch just went out the other day, and Jeff at FAST TOYS said that me not getting traction was probley my clutch slipping the entire time. He also said that there was no reason for me not getting traction with the -3.5 swingarm. We will see when I get my new clutch from Jeff in. Jeff is one hell of a guy. I will definetly be doing more business with him in the future.
-
Jeff at FAST TOYS hooked me up with everything that he thought I would probley need ,clutch, clutch basket, inner and outer hub, and so on.
-
I've got a +2 on there because i really didn't want to go to long because this bike sees woods, sand, pasture, and the track.
-
Yea I'm going to give him a call today.
-
what do you reckamend for me, and where can I get it. Do you think that the EBC EP Race clutch kit would be fine?
-
My shee is a 2000 and my mods are listed in my sig, but I recently went to a local sanddrag track which is a 100 yds. and I absolutly couldn't get any traction with my -3.5in swingarm, so I figured maybe I need a longer swing arm so that it will transfer more weight. I went riding to day in some sand and still no traction, do you think it is because my axle is a +4. Do you think I need a stock length or maybe shorter length axle. I will also ride this bike in the sand like at little sahara, OK so if I can get by with a stock length axle that would be better than getting a drag axle. But I want to get traction and it's not working for me. I'm running Skat Trak Extremes 21/12/8 with 9 paddles, please can some one tell me what I need to do to get traction.

Going with a smaller tire will cause you to lose some top end, so if you don't want to lose any top end then you will ned to gear up some

Ok I checked the clutch and it is shot. So what is a good clutch to go back with, Dirt Digger or EBC EP Race clutch kit. The EBC kit has kevlar lined friction plates, I think the EBC will be better but the price for it is $149 and the dirt digger is about $100 I think. Also how do you know if the clutch basket is bad, I think it looks fine but not really sure what i'm looking for, and when I go back with it should I go back with the Bel Ray gear saver 80wt or 85wt. So when I put the new clutch in is there any special way to adjust it. This clutch seemed like when it was in gear and the clutch was pulled in, it was still wanting to roll and I don't want that because to me it seems like that would burn the clutch up fast. Please someone let me know about this. Thanks

I plan on taking it apart but I don't have the time right now. But yall just think it is my clutch and nothing serious. Where can I buy a repair manuel at. I know it's probably not hard to change the clutch out but I would still like to have one for future stuff.

Ok, I went riding today and when I started taking off everything was fine. I got a little ways from the truck and it was like I just hit neutral running wide open. I stopped and checked my chain and it was still on and then I checked my oil and it was low, so I pulled it back to the truck and went to the house. I got home stuck some oil in it to see if that may have been what the cause was. That helped but still no go. When it was in gear and you tried to take off the wheels was staggering like they were wanting to go but it wasn't. I think it may be the clutch. Also I noticed that when it was in gear you could push it backwards and it wasn't grabbing. I hope it is just the clutch and nothing major in side the case. Let me know what yall think, and if it is just the clutch what is a good brand to go back with and is the Bel Ray gear savor oil any good because that was what was in it. Thanks
-
so yall think that I need more paddles?
-
the wheelie bar is about 4.6 feet long and the wheel is about 5 to 6 in. of the ground, it seemed like when the wheelie bar was hitting the ground it was causing the ass end to left and lose more traction but it would barly even set it back on the bar because it was spinning so much. My sprockets were 13-41 with skat trak extreme haulers 21-12-8 with 9 paddles
-
well, I didn't run worth a shit, 5.7 was the best i could run. I spun the entire track, maybe you guys can tell me what was the deal. I tried lower air pressure, higher air pressure, swaping the paddle to the other side so that the wheels would tuck more, I tried straping the front, raising the front. I really think that with the -3.5 swingarm may have upset the geometry of the bike for drag racing, like maybe it wasn't letting me transfer the weight to the rear wheels, there was a guy with almost the same mods except for he had a stock crank and i had more porting done and he was running a +4 swingarm and his times where 5.0, I've got a extended swingarm on the way so maybe that will help me out, I'm also going to play with my gears some. My paddles are skat trak extremes 21-12-8 with 9 paddles. So what do you think, do you think that was my prob?
-
well i think i'm going to order a +2, what size chain do you think i need, my gearing right know is 13-41 but i would like to be able to change gearing a little bit if I have to
-
right know I'm 13-41, I will see what this does. I have a 13,14,15,16 front and 41 and I think a 42 for the rear
-
The track is a 100 yards of sand. I want to be able to launch in second gear, what would be the best gearing for me running 21-12-8 9 paddle skat trak extremes?thanks
-
I'm about to get a +2 swingarm and I was wondering what size chain I would need for this, right now my gearing is 13-41
-
I wonder if getting a +2 swingarm would affect riding wheelies, I wouldn't think so but just wondering, thanks for the advice
-
thats what I was thinking
-
I was wondering if i switched from my pro flow intake with K&N on it to K&N clamp ons, would I need to rejet. There is no air box, it looks like they cut the airbox out and just left the k&N bolted to the proflow. The reason I'm planning on changing is with the single airfilter, the braided hose to my aftermarket shock's rezzy is rubbing a hole in my airfilter.
-
how well would a +2 work over a +4 in trail riding or dune rideing, I would like to be able to launch it in second and ride up on the gas tank for it not to jack a wheelie.
-
where did you run your upper rod to?
-
yea i think so
-
ok thanks, and what exactly to you mean pinch bolts, the four on the rear of the carrier? I thought about using the holes for where the skid plate bolted to the swingarm on the bottom of the carrier, what do you think?
