  1. Your slugish low end could be happening becuse of your idle problem..I would play around with needle clip position and pilot jets..Then do a few plug chops..
  2. When I had my blaster i was always looking for things to sorta set it aside from the rest of the croud..I came up with this little DIY thread for planetblaster originaly but after doing it on my banshee yesterday and seeing how good it looks i thought i would share (I also got a good one on how to make double wide foot pegs if anybody is interested) Ok this little mod is super easy and basically free..Most of the steps are the same as polishing the clutch cover....Basically i hated the look of my warning labels but didn't want to leave crappy holes in my fenders..Anyways here is how it's done without spending the $25 on a ebay kit.. Things you will need Variety pack of wet sandpaper Paint stripper (airplane strip from auto zone works great!!) Drill with small drill bit Plyers of vise grips paper plate or peice of card board flathead screw driver Bucket of water 1. To start off you will need to take your warning labels off..They are held on the plastics with pop rivits..The easiest way to get these off is to lock your plyers/vice grips on the underside of the plastics to the rivits, and drill the centers of the rivits out on the top part of the plastic.. 2. After you get the warning labels off the plastic you will need to pry the metal warning labels off there plastic surrounds(only on the front fenders)..Just use the screw driver to slowly peal the metal lables away from the plastic(there stuck on with glue)..Take your time and make sure that you don't crease the labels by prying to hard.. 3. Now that you have the labels seperated from there plastic surrounds you need to get the glue off them..To do this i put the labels in a paper plate and filled it up with paint stripper..Let it sit in the plate for a good 15 minutes..After they have sat for a bit go ahead and take them out of the stripper..Wash away the stripper and you will notice most of the glue is gone, and what is left easily peels away to leave a semi shiney finish.. 4. Now for the fun part, wet sanding...Start with the lower grits of sand paper and work your way up to the less course grits as you see fit..Do this to all 4 of the labels until you have the desired finish..I am very picky about how things look so i put most of my time into this step.. 5. After you are finished wet sanding the 4 labels you need to put them back on the bike..Since you drilled out the rivits you will need to use screws/bolts to put the lables back on the bike...I used 16 small guage screws/bolts and it turned out great.. If anybody decides to try this, just take your time and it will turn out great.. This was a totally productive saturday :-D..I will get some pics of them on the bike today Letha(--)face Before After
  3. The packing keeps db's down as well as creating back pressure for the motor..If you are jetted to rich, or get alot of water in the silencer, the packing will knot up and blow out much quicker..
  4. When i bought my banshee in december, it had T5's on it..The only problem out of them was the finish was terrible..This MAY have been from lack of care from the previous owner, but there was rust everywhere..I never had that problem with my LRD and that pipe took some punishment..
  5. I am for sure going to get the head milled/rechambered, I am still thinking about the porting..
  6. eric gorr is the builder i have been trying to call for 2 weeks..I actually got ahold of him once for like 2 seconds and he said "i am shipping some stuff off call back later" and never got ahold of the guy again..I guess i will just go with the guy who did my blaster motor..I wanted to try out somebody new, but if you can't get ahold of them to set up work, you can't trust your parts to be sent there(no disrespect intended)
  7. I can get them for about 160 shipped off ebay that's why i was wanting to go about it that way..I wanted to get it ported while i had the thing completly tore apart but the builder i have been researching never awnsers his phone..Good suggestion though fellas i think i will try that..
  8. yeah this was the rings..Hard to tell but one side was super thin..Pistons dont look 2 bad but there was some blow by..
  9. yeah i knew 30 over was the next size..The only thing i was worried about was if it ended up having to be bored out to .040 becuase of wear..The guy who will be going the bore/hone is a couple states away so i thought it would be safer to do it that way..I will inspect it a little better tommorow and see how the cylinder walls look..
  10. Kool, thanks..I think i will order me up some .040 over's tonight
  11. Hi all, I recently got a 99 banshee in early december, after a couple rides and a complete loss of compression i now find myself in the process of rebuilding it..The rings are almost paper thin in some spots and thick in others..So after putting my finger in the spark plug hole and feeling no pressure i knew there was a problem..The compression is completly gone and will not even register on my tester..So i need to order myself a new set of piston-onies..I know i can get the pistons much cheaper on ebay, than my local shop ($200 without wp bearings), but am sorta confused on which size to get..I know that the old pistons are wiseco but wasn't sure on there size..After cleaning up the piston top's a bit i have came up with these numbers Dead in the middle of the piston centered is 513M06450 right underneath that is CD and the arrow.. On the complete opposite side of the piston there is C00D3 Does anybody know what size these ol pistons are? Any help would be greatly appreciated becuae i need to go ahead and order the next size up.. Thanks, Letha
  12. If you guys check ebay as much as i do, you've bound to have seen some of this guys grills..I bought one, and when it got to me i wasn't happy with the luster of the grill and a few rough edges(still looked good i'm just nit picky)..I called, and explained to him there was a few burs on them and that the luster wasn't as nice as i would have liked..So without giving me any bull shit or any problems like that he just said "No Problem man, Keep that one and i will send you another one"..He had released a few new grill's shortly after my purchase and he even let me pick from the new grills he had in stock for my replacement..Anyways, it's not every day you encounter somebody who will go so far out of there way to help a buyer..SO i figured what better way to show my appreciation with a little word of mouth :-D I ended up cleaning the diamond grill up and giving it to my little brother(he loves it), and I got the Iron cross COOL GRILLS LINK

  18. Hi, I'm selling a full Chrome Toomey T5 exhaust system from my 99 banshee..The pipes are in good shape and there is no dents or dings..The inside of the pipes need some elbow grease to remove some junk thats on them but they are still in good shape..When bolted up you can't even see the brownish black junk on the inside of the pipes..I'm sure a SOS pad would take the stuff off..The pipes look great bolted on though..I am asking 425 shipped but am open to trade/offers..If anybody has any questions feel free to email me at lethaface22@yahoo.com or PM me and i will get back to you as quick as possible.. I know i'm new to this site so if there is any concern potential buyers can go to planetblaster.org, and check my feedback there under the same screen name..
