  1. I would do that but I don't think there is a outwear for the pro design air filter. Anyone know where I can get one? THanks
  2. Would I be Ok to run this outerwear airbox cover with the prodesign air filter clamp on? Or would it let too much stuff get by? I do ride in some very light water, nothing soaking wet but I may hit a couple puddles once in a while. will this water get to the filter with this outerwear on? Thanks alot again
  3. ANyone know a way
  4. Is there any cheap way to make it a more secure fit?
  5. Possibly disconnect the tors, check for air leaks on your clamps and your carb top.Could be jetting too. Do a plug test and check it. I'm not sure, just naming off some things that go wrong alot.
  6. I just got the outerewear airbox cover for 20 bucks. My problem with it is that I cant get it to fit over the airbox.I think my problem is the 2 holes on the back of the airbox where the bolts go to hold the airbox on. They come out about a inch from the airbox and the outerwear can't fit around it with those two big tabs on each side. Also, there is only velcro on the front and back, shouldn't their be some on the sides too? It doesn't make a good seal with just the elastic stuff. It seems like a rip-off to me so far. Have you had any of these problems or had to modify the outerwear? thanks alot, Justin
  7. I just used the springs that were on my stock exhaust and they hold it on their pretty well
  8. Nobody knows where I should put the clip?
  9. Okay, I ordered the pro flow air kit and a outerwear air box cover so I can remove the lid safely. I also got 290 main jets. What I am hung up on now is what hole I should put the clip in on the needle? I have heard both the 4th and 5th clip but I don't know which is better for me. thanks
  10. Okay, so what would you reccommend for jetting if my mods were the pro flow air filter kit and fatty's with turbine core silencers. Would I have to change my pilots and my needle clips? or just my main jets? Thanks alot
  11. I was thinking about getting a air filter kit for it since I am redoing the jetting. What do you reccommend? I was thinking about the pro flow kit that has a new mounting system . It is 90 dollars at Magic Racing. Or should I just get a new air filter and that will be fine? I would like to stick with a foam air filter since I have heard K&N let alot of crap pass through.
  12. I just got my new pipes today, they are fmf fatty's with turbine core 2 silencers. They look just like new and I got em' off ebay for about 280. I know I will have to rejet, so where should I get my jets at? I know I have to change my main jet but what size should I step up to? I'm around 600 ft. above sea level or so and this is the only mod I plan on running for now. Are there any other things I should have to change? Thanks alot
  13. Ok, So I snugged up all the boots going to the carb and one of the tops was loose on the carb so I tightened that up also. Then I also disconnected the tors system. I started it up and it ran perfectly. It would idle nice and start without the choke when hot, which it wouldn't do before. My question is can I run the quad with the tors just disconnected? or do i have to get a removal kit? Thanks alot
  14. I would get pt's midrange but they are so dang expensive! I was thinking along the lines of Bills,Pro Circuit, DMC Aliens, TR-6 or FMF fatty. Which one of these pipes will work the best for a all around pipe?
  15. Hi, I know many people have asked "what pipe they should get" but I searched and couldn't find a direct answer. I am looking for a pipe that will give me more power everywhere. I don't want a dune pipe or a 2 into 1 pipe, I want one with alot of bottom and mid and a little more top end. I ride around my field here and on my lake in the winter so I would like some more bottom and mid power since there is barely any right now. I plan on keeping my bike nearly all stock except for pipes, no porting or anything. thanks alot
  16. THanks for all the great advice guys. I'll check that stuff out this weekend and see what it does. I just hope I don't have to tear into my engine and replace a seal that is sucking air. thanks alot
  17. I'll check for air leaks on the boots of the carb. How do you do a leak down test to check for these? Would a air leak cause it to backfire when cold, idle very high, and have to be started with the choke on? Thanks for the advice
  18. THanks for the advice everyone. Where would the air leak probally be? I was pretty sure it wasn't the tors also, so it probally is a air leak.
  19. Hello, This is my first post on this site so I am hoping for some good advice. It all started yesterday when I went for a ride. When I first started it up and warmed it up for a little bit, it would backfire right before it would hit the powerband. This has never happened before. It has very few hours on it so I dought the rings are bad. Things even got worse at the end of my ride. By the end of the ride the backfiring (a loud boom out the exhaust) went away but now there was a new problem. When in nuetral if I would push the throttle 1/4 of the way or less and the motor would redline and would continue to do this even when I let off the throttle. However, the most weird part is that when it would go full throttle by itself when I shut both the key and switch to off the motor would still run at full throttle I finally got it to come back down when i blirped the throttle. This is very weird, it is the first time it has happened to me and I would think when you would shut the ignition off that the motor would quit, but it doesn't! I have heard of many problems with the tors going bad so I was thinking this might be the problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
