  1. I have pro circuit platinum pipes and K&N clamp on filters. It is recommended that you use 280 mains if you are gonna use the PC pipes & silencers. This is assuming you use the stock air filter/box. You wouldn't beleive the difference pro circuit pipes/silencers and clamp on K&N air filtesr make, assuming your banshee is stock now. I went from stock pipes/filter to the PC pipes & K&N clamp ones, and it gave it an INSANE boost in power. When it was stock, it would only wheelie in 3rd gear. Now it wheelies in 4th gear, and has alot more power all around. Sounds 100x better too! If you wanna get the BEST air filters (along with a damn good power increase) then go with clamp on K&N filters (you will need to buy 2, and it will cost about $75-80 total). If you get the clamp on K&N's you need to remove your air box (easy to do). If you do this, I would start by using 330 mains and 30's for the slow jets. Also, if you take off the air box, you will wanna buy a special bracket/holder for your radiator reserve tank. They are only $15-20 and you can get em at www.rockymountainatv.com. Hope this helps.
  2. I noticed that my other post about this sort of died out, and I forgot to mention a very important factor: my friend is using clamp on K&N filters. Anyways........ My friend has a 2001 banshee that he is fixing/decking out. He is going to get his head plained, cylinder bored .030 over, and he also is putting on fmf fatty pipes with turbine core 2 silencers. On top of that he has vforce reeds, and clamp on K&N filters with no airbox. Any ideas as where we should start with the jetting? Pilot & main. Thanks for any info!
  3. Looks good to me. Should have a carbon ring at the base which is 1-3 MM high. Looks like it falls into that range from the pic.
  4. Oops I forgot to mention that he DOES infact have the clip on K&N filters with no airbox at all. So I'm guessing he is gonna have to use some pretty bigass main jets!
  5. Hey guys. My friend has a 2001 banshee that he is fixing/decking out. He is going to get his head plained, cylinder bored .030 over, and he also is putting on fmf fatty pipes with turbine core 2 silencers. On top of that he has vforce reeds. 6. I have a 2002 banshee and was wondering if theres anything special that I have to change after taking off the airbox so that I can put on my "pod" K&N air filters. I remember someone telling me I may have to re-route the throttle sensor cables or some crap. Is this true? Is there anything weird I have to do?
  7. Thanks! BTW thats once nice looking banshee you got there!
  8. My friend has a 2001 banshee with stock pipes/silencers/air filter. He is putting on fmf "fatty" pipes and fmf "powercore 2" silencers, along with a K&N filer (the kit where you remove the airbox). Any ideas on where we should start out jetting? 30 pilots and 330 mains? Also, what would the jetting be without a K&N and just the fmf pipes? like 280 main?
  9. Where can I find both versions of the K&N kit? Does the one where you take off your airbox produce alot more power?? And what main jet do I use for each?? does it matter????? Thanks.
  10. I have a 2002 banshee and I am going to put PC pipes and the factory sound 304 PC silencers on it (overrev). I was told to go from a 200 main to a 280. What main do I go to if I do that AND put a K&N filter on it? was it 330??? Also, do they make different K&N filters for banshee's? I noticed that they have a million different kinds. Do I just buy the one that says its made for a 2002 banshee? Thanks guys!
  11. I was just wondering if anyone knows how many links the stock chain on a 2001 banshee with stock gearing has?? Also, do all the banshee's use the same amount of links in the chain when they are stock?
  12. Holy SH1T! 50 freaking MM???? Hit it with a big fuckin hammer? is that what BFH stands for? LOL!
  13. LOL good one! But come on, watch your fuckin language already!
  14. LOL what the heck? I must have missed something. How the hell did this thread turn into THIS? Did mattw204 fall of his KX 250 and hit his head or something? LOL And I thought I was bad for bragging about dirtbikes here. Hehehe.
  15. I AM the one apologizing I think you meant mattw204. Now I'm just confused.
  16. heh heh isn't it wierd that the author of the thread is "mattw204", and my name is mattb. Strange, isn't it?
  17. I'm really amazed to see that people are STILL responding to that thread. Its really my fault I think, becuase I am the one that starting talking about motocross bikes. If I would of kept my mouth shut I don't think there would be like 10 pissed off memebers right now fighting about it heh..... Just wanted to say sorry for stirring up such a sh*tstorm of opinions here. I feel bad becuase the people here have given me alot of great advice, and I started a big argument about bikes/banshee's. No, I'm not the one that created the thread, but I AM the one that got everyone arguing, so again, sorry about that. - mattb348
  18. I have a 2002 stock banshee and I am only planning on putting pro circuit pipes/silencers on it, nothing more. I am interested in taking the lid off possibly. Is it much of a difference vs lid on? I'm just gonna keep the stock filter on. Will the pipes make a much bigger difference than the no lid trick???
  19. Maybe if the 500 is parked and not moving. LOL......
  20. Hmmmmm I think it depends on the driver too. Just my KX 250 smokes my friends banshee. Both machines are stock. You can get a decent luanch on pavement with a 500 if you sit on the gas tank when you start off. Also, a KX 500 does about 100 mph stock. I don't see how a banshee can beat it. That, and it weighs half as much as the banshee. You guys must have some really sick banshee's or something lol. Let me drive em sometime I bet you can't wheelie it as good as a KX 500 though
  21. The only reason a banshee could ever beat a KX 500 in a sand dune is becuase it gets better traction in sand. Drag race on pavement or down a dirt road and the banshee is gonna get raped unless it has nitros or something along those lines. To answer the question about a 500 KX vs a 250 KX, yes, its ALOT faster. About 25 MPH faster top speed and ALOT more overall power, even on the low end. It will accelerate much faster than the 250, especially in the higher gears, it will wheelie better, and it will spin better. I would just buy a 500. A stock 500 will smoke pretty much anything in a REAL drag race (I'm talking pavement or dirt road, not a sand dune or mx track thats full of jumps and sharp turns, etc.)
  22. If you want the highest quality plug then go with BR8EIX. I don't know why someone here said to use a BR9EIX, as that is the wrong heat range; the 9 in that string of number/letters signifies the heat, and the higher the number the less the heat; it is supposed to be BR8 not BR9. BR8EIX is the best plug I know of, and they run about $8.00 or so. The IX at the end stands for being IRIDIUM.
  23. I can't beleive you gave up a 250 motocross bike for a banshee. Don't get me wrong, I DO have a banshee, but I also have a KX 250 and a KX 500, and I like them WAYYYYYY better than the banshee, especially the KX 500. Just a 250 motocross bike will smoke a banshee easy, wheelie better, spin better, and accelerate faster. The only thing it wont have is the top speed of the banshee, but it wont be much slower top speed wise. You could always get a KX 500 and easily smoke ANYTHING as far as 4 wheelers/bikes, no matter wtf they have for (practicle) mods. The only thing that will stand a chance will be another 500cc motocross bike
