2002 Yamaha banshee for sale, excellent condition,pc pipes and silencers, boost bottle, uni filter, renthal chain, g-force axle, a must see, asking $4000 CAN dollars

cute... whats so bad about posting a new thread anyway? Everybody seems to have quite a problem if you don't try a search first...
-
very specific there dude, thanks for the help
-
Whats involved with a port job and will there be a substantial power increase?
-
Whats the deals on both the pro design and the noss?
-
Just wondering, does anybody have a performance head for the banshee? Now that I'm doing the top end I might want to do something about that old stock head... would consider about trading the stocker plus money for a aftermarket head. Preferably like cool head or pro design or something of the such.

By the sound of it your riding conditions are only going to allow you to run with the lid on. Having a K&N lid will still allow water into the box, which is most peoples biggest concern about removing the lid. I'd say you should also save your money, buy a K&N filter to put inside the box, run without the lid when possible and with when its wet... it will not make a considerable amount of difference either way. Make more horsepower out of the motor instead of the filter is your so concerned.

Hey man, nice bike I must say... too bad you never lived closer. Probably one of the only ones here on the forum representing Canada, which is too bad, since I've been looking for a larger displacement 4 stroke. I have an 02 shee, with procircuit pipes/silencers, jetted, boost bottle, uni filter, dg bumper, g-force +4" axle, etc... I'd do a trade in a second if I knew your bike was in similarily good condition, too bad to the distance.... figured I'd write to give you an extra bump though

I have a bunch of parts 4 sale
oliver566 replied to Big Bad Banshee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
what do you want for the nerf bars? -
how much do you want for the head and domes?
-
I'd say the same thing as the other guys, the bearings are probably eating into the metal in the carrier, or it is just seized in place... get some wd-40 and blast it with a hammer, should come loose.

Banshee Motor Parts For Sale

I'm not really an expert on the topic, but I think if you but the long rod stroker, it will require a special set of pistons and some extensive head mods to be able to fit it into the stock system. Even the 404 big bore will be quite a pain in the ass. So, if your going to be spending a lot of money like it seems like you will, buy some cubs, better carbs, lighten and shave everything you can, advance ignition timing, pipes, complete reed system... you will have a good reliable system with this setup and will undoubtedly be putting out more than enough power for any useful purpose... hope this helps

Any huge mods will just give you massive tire spin and in a dirt drag or mx race it'll get you nowhere, especially not in getting the holeshot.... javascript:emoticon('') smilie

No need for the 450, the shee should run with it. I have an 02 shee with pc full exhaust, jetted, filtered, no air box lid, boost bottle, etc.... mainly what everybody has done in the line of relatively cheap mods and it will put up a great run against an 04' 450 with a reasonable amount of modding done. Just find better ways of putting the power to the ground, better tires for better hookup for example, or maybe simple mods like going up one on the front sprocket and advance the timing a little, you won't need much and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hey, thinkin about choppin the fenders on the shee... both front and back... give her the mean look she deserves. If anybody got a runthrough of how to do it that would be great. Also, common guys, post your pics, let me see what style is the best!!

Hey, wheres the cheapest place to buy a complete top end kit for a stock shee... like with the gaskets and the whole deal?
-
Hey, I'm gone away to univerisity now, leaving my shee home to rest in my shed about 100 miles away. I will never get a chance to ride her now, maybe once in a couple of months or something. Is there anything I should do to prevent anything odd from happening? Like draining out the gas to prevent from running dead gas later? or letting the bike run all the gas out of the carbs to stop them from gumming up? things like that... any other storage tips for the newbie?

I do have pipes, pc platinums and I run a uni with no air box lid.... it still runs a little shady off the line... any ideas?
-
Hey man, I do a lot of trail riding on my shee myself, I was in the same predicament when looking for pipes. The toomey T-5s are wayyy to much of a top end performer, you might consider the T-6s, but I chose the procircuit with r304 silencers, they are a good all around pipe, alright low and top but really shine in the midrange, perfect for trail riding. I've got a couple of buddies who run with the fmf gnarlys, they seem to be alright for this type of riding too. Hope this offers you some help.
-
anybody offer any help with this?
-
Sorry dude, I already have aftermarket pipes, procircuit platinums with r304s, I also have it jetted, boost bottle, filter, etc.... I got most of the cheaper bases covered already see, so I'm wondering if theres anything I can get for the shee now that doesn't involve purchasing new heads or porting or anything like that, maybe a new set of reeds and advanced timing/lightened flywheel will make a difference
-
Hey, I'm just wondering, I've been reading up on things like porting your reed cages, boring the carbs to a larger diameter, lightening your flywheel, and doing a timing advance by yourself. Most of these things can be done for relatively cheap by yourself or at a machine shop, but do they really make a difference? Usually hp means $$$ but if you can get some for free why not take it?

Castrol is fine if your not running your shee in extreme condition, drag or mx or anything. Even if you were you won't have any problems, just then it would be better to run with something a little better like amsoil or ipone. Guys will try to blame bike problems on anything, rider error or not doing proper maintenance is usually to blame, not a type of oil. Thats like saying switching from ngk plugs to the champion equivalent would blow your motor, thats just stupid... lol
-
Well thats alright to know that its not only my axle... I've tightened everything up and nothign has moved since, I just don't trust it. But I guess if I put it through hell and it doesnt move, I have nothing to worry about... lol.... so I'll probably just forget about it for now and see how it all pans out, thanks for all the help with it though all the same
