  1. They say "gnarlys" right on them, so I'm pretty sure that's what they are.
  2. The pipes are FMF Gnarlys with Turbine Core II spark arrestors. Came with a matching helmet, MSR boots, Scott Goggles, cover, two gas cans, 7 quarts of semi synthetic yamalube, 1 qt of golden spectro oil, a spray can of Chain Wax, and 4 sets of tie downs. Here are some pics. It hasnt been washed in a while and the pipes have some rust on them. I havent cleaned it yet. It's not as pristine as I thought it would be, but well worth 2 grand.
  3. Well, I picked it up today. Looks pretty decent. The rear tires are new Holeshot XCT 22". It's got FMF gnarly pipes with Turbine core II spark arrestors. Came with a matching helmet, MSR boots, Scott Goggles, cover, two gas cans, 7 quarts of semi synthetic yamalube, 1 qt of golden spectro oil, a spray can of Chain Wax, and 4 sets of tie downs. 4. I couldnt make a darn thing.
  5. We ride in a variety of terrain. Mud, coal, dirt, clay, hard pack, soggy marshy stuff, you name it we have it. (Western PA) I have not ridden it yet to see how the holeshots do. I am guessing it will be a spinfest. If it is, I'll hang the knarlys on it (provided I can get the hubs from my bro). Thanks for all the comments. I'll get some pics up this weekend on my website (there are no pics yet at that link, but there's other content) Banshee pics
  6. Yup, I bought mine a year ago, so, i'm sure they're the plain ones. They still work great. Thanks for the info. Gettin itchy now...heading to VA on saturday morning to pick up the new ride...cover, helmet, and damn near new bansheewith pipes /silencers and 4 new holeshots for 2K. Can't beat it with a stick.
  7. Thanks. What is the difference between the Knarly XC and GNCC? Mine are 6 ply and do not say XC or GNCC anywhere on them. Below is a pic of mine. I recently saw the iRazrs in a magazine on a quad and thought they looked pretty good. About time someone comes out with an Ohtsu radial competitor. Cash is tight, so i'll have to stick with what I have now. I was just curious which tire i should run on the banshee. I love the knarlys on my 350X.
  8. Can I get some input from you guys/gals on rear tire choices for woods riding on a near stock banshee? Right now the tires on the banshee are Holeshots. I have a set of 20" Kenda Knarlys on my 350X. My brother has a set of yamaha splined hubs with "honda" bolt pattern. I could easily swap wheels/tires from the X and mount the holeshots back on it. I've not ridden a 2 stroke quad in the woods much at all. I've ridden 2 stroke bikes and 4 stroke trikes/quads extensively. Does a piped banshee seem to work better with more tire spin or traction? I'm thinking the Knarlys will hook up better than the holeshots but I don't want to "bog" the engine too much with "too much" traction. Any experience, preferences, or comments are welcome. thanks
  9. If I were a betting man, I'd say these are what were installed...judging by the date of the write-up and when the guy bought the banshee. He had the dealer put the pipes on and jet it before he took delivery of it. So my guess is the pipes were the newest FMF pipes made at the time. I'll find out this weekend. write up on "Fattys"
  10. From what I've been reading here over the last hour or so, I think i will keep them. They were bought and installed in 2000 when it was new...would these be the "old school FMF" pipes I've seen people talking about? I'm not sure if they say anything but FMF on them. I havent seen the quad for a couple years. It's a brother in law of my brother that owns it.
  11. I am new to the banshee scene and will be picking my 2000 banshee up this weekend. It is stock aside from the FMF pipes ( I think Fattys) and silencers and tires. It has extremely low hours on it and has never been rebuilt. It has spent most of its life under a cover. The question is this, I do a lot of woods riding and some drags (play). Would the pipes it has do well for woods riding or should I start looking into a 2 into 1 pipe? Thanks in advance.
