Yeah, I'd say you could save some money if your using your old setup and cylinders by staying stock stroke. I've got around 80 hp with a very well HJR ported 4m stk cyl and run on pump gas. It runs right there with any 4m serval I've seen and better than the majority of them. But, as I said before, there is a lot more to it than just a well built motor. Intake, carbs, clutch, pipes, tranny, suspension, swingarm, tires, it all matters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He said 12e. Perform much similar to a 13h. Didn't specify if the extreme was need for terrain or not. Besides, I can read just fine. So if you got nothing else to contribute, prepare to STFU. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My duner was ported by kevin and I've got a drag motor ported by cam. Wouldn't be afraid to go either way there. But I've heard, well, everyone has an opinion. I do most of my dealings through cam at redline now. Not sure what needs to be done to the serval or numbers they put out "as cast". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anything up around that hp is borderline for needing a lockup. I run one on mine as well as a duneable override but I had a modified trans before and it shifted well also. Pro mod cut type trans that is now in my son's bike. The T5s will probably limit some of the power to be had with either motor. I run shearers and used to run CPIs. Kalin runs shearers on his and I think ryan runs snipers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would talk to a builder before making that decision. I think they are both maxed at about 80hp with a dune/trail port. More can be gained out of them both but you won't like the power curve for trail riding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmmm. Ryan? Kalin? I've got a 4m st cyl 390 and they both have 4m 421 servals. They run really similar. Last weekend my stock cyl dune port ran a 4.93 at the track and I think Kalin's ran a 4.95. My stk cyl is a great duner and can roll into a wheelie with a 6 over arm. It is really a great play bike. But, there is more to a good running set up than just the motor. Everything else has to compliment it. Either can make a great set up. And the stk cyl absolutely has the potential to perform as well as the 421 serval. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmmm. Got a set of 13 b2b haulers. Not sure I want to sell em though. Tell me you don't want them and make it easy for me. Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stock impeller flows well enough. Many of the after market impellers are made with cheap shafts and the seal will wear a groove in the shaft and then leak coolant into the clutch cover. Larger radiators will help some in cooling but the stock set up will be fine if your motor is tuned right. Most of the time an overheated motor is a sign that something isn't tuned right. At least on a stock cylinder motor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dennis! Look at you go! What he said! And don't forget to give it more fuel. Mains, pilot and probably the needle too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like you have something wrong between the cable and the carb slide (likely where the cable attaches to the carb slide or a defective cable). This should be pretty easy to determine and fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Factory water pump drive gear vs billet
spurdy replied to highcomp26's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I have a billet in one motor and plastic in the other two. Honestly, no preference. My son had a bolt out of the back of his billet basket come out and bounce around. It broke the water pump gear. I suppose if it was billet, it maybe could have damaged the drive gear on the crank shaft or bent the water pump shaft or damage the clutch cover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Factory water pump drive gear vs billet

I've never had a plastic one break. But it is like everything else, if you strengthen one part and something happens it just makes something else the next weakest link to fail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That's crazy. I ordered a brand new set of pipes and got the clips for the springs but no springs. Figured we were on our own for springs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh yeah? What do they look like? Do they hold up well? I know they all will break eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unless the wire breaks when the spring breaks. What about just using a braided cable on one side and spring on the other? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Harte said he put safety wires on his. Don't want another to come of at that speed fo sho! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
