I had a 79 CJ-5 silver anniversary edition that I did arestoration on and finally sold it. Heres my thoughts,,,,if your looking for somewhat of a summertime daily driver,,,get a newer 87-up wrangler,,,the steering and handling alone will make your life a whole lot easier and it ALOT easier to get parts for and cheaper to build. early 90's are easy to come by an usually pretty cheap. get the 4.0. the 4cylinder is fun too but if you plan on tires and lift (like you mentioned) you hate yourself for not getting the 4.0 If your a nastolgic buff who loves old stuff and dont mind a long drawn out resotration process then go for the 60' Old jeeps are the coolest jeeps in the world but it will take alot of patience,,,work and most of all,,,money! to restore when I first got my old CJ-5 I first thought I could throw a few stuff together and have something fun to drive...WRONG!! several thousand dollars later I was still working on it. I loved that jeep and had alot of good times in it but whenever I was looking for parts I was always wishing I had a CJ-7 or a wrangler

double rate would be two springs hence two different rates,,and so on with triple rate and quadrates. they offer lighter spring tension for smaller bumps and still have the bigger springs for jumping and such. the YFZ has a variable rate spring which is what most quads come with,,,,Its basically a single rate design but with different winding to soften them slightly. there not nearly as good as dual,triple or quad rates though. Oh and elka doesnt offer a double rates for the front,,,,,,,their lowest end shock is a standard triple rate. I think the only company that offers a double rate front springs are works.

If you get standard travel arms you can use your stockers but it will be alot softer. I have a YFZ with Houser +2" arms and Im running the stock shocks(for now) they work pretty good but are definitely softer than stock, Once I upped my preload and played with the settings it worked great.

Honestly,,I love the speed of my YFZ,ad definitely the handling,,,But I HATE the noise!! loud pipes are cool on two strokes but are annoying after a while on 4strkers. oh and the reverese sucks too!!

Im an ex smoker and its bad enough now where I cant even be around the crap or I'll get a headache,,,nothing worse than taking your gal out to a club for a nice time and coming home stinking of smoke. Although this guy is a bit on the extreme side of the non smoking battle I agree with his feelings. Although I wont be out calling smokers any names,,,,Hell I used to be one,,,,so was my mom,,,,unfortunately she passed at age 45 from lung cancer. Yes,,,its a very nasty habit,,,,Yes,,,I cant stand smoke,,,,,,,But I dont have harsh feelings for people who smoke,,,if anything I only hope that they will wise up someday. I dont condone smoking or people who do it,,,Ya just gotta hope the very best for them. Oh,,,I have met some very nice smokers,, good example,,,white trash,,,,we went to badlands to ride quads,,,,I rode with him most of the way,,,,,and out of shear niceness he didnt smoke in is own vehicle. Just out of curiosity,,,,with a plus 2" setup,,,how wide is a shee with regular offset. White trash has +2" +1" and his still seem narrow to me. Whats it take to get 50"?

You shouldnt have to remove the arm,,,,js screw on the cable and attach the knob on the cable end to the rod. Maybe Im not following you correctly but its a very simple procedure. UNless you have a different setup than Ive seen

Yes,,Its still available,,, Dont your carbs have return springs? that should be more than adequate for a return. You definitely want to make sure your cables are well lubed to avoid any problems. Thanks,,,,,,,,Don Fadeddreams I always though the moose throttle was the same thing as the terry cable but I guess I could have been mistaking. as far as attaching the cable,,,,,,,,,,Not sure what your having problems with,, You might want to detach it from your carb and Then attach it to the throttle housing so you will have more cable to work with.

OK,,,,,since I am in the pre-building stage of my first banshee,,I like the sounds of these rockets,,,,would they be good on a stocker. I dont see myself immediatly putting a couple grand into an engine,,,,,this year I want a running chasis then next year go big in the engine department.
