Carb choice is like Ford v. Chevy v. Dodge. It's what you're comfortable with. I've used PWKs, I love my Lectrons...no carb is everyone's cup of tea. I know K&T likes running Mikunis. Dan Hull (A&S) swears by PWK... Again, it's what you feel comfortable tuning with and in your price range. I could list pros and cons of each of these carbs...

And just how does that stellar 4 wheeling Canada site bring in all the mad loot and business. Tyler, obvious Troll... I completely understand the decision from a business stand point... -

All I know is Tyler posted his personal address/info for us all to see. He's going to have high dollar escorts with taxis and pizza showing up left and right....courtesy of me, of course. LOL... Congrats. -
Probably 5 to 7% increase in power at best between a 4 mil and stock stroke if you're keeping the bore the same.
-
Depends on the "drag port" and it's numbers as to how close in dimensions and timings it is to a cub. I'm sure they will work well on quite a few different engine designs. Fat Bastards AND Shearer pipes weren't designed with one motor in mind either, rather a range so they could appeal to a wider audience. I think the Snipers were tested "mostly" on a 4 mil cub....so that's where they have the best research base.
-
I just gotta tell you, the attention to detail and your craftsmanship is excellent. Very impressed....keep up the good work and the updates!

Try Sniper inframe. He's a site sponsor and his quality is awesome. Vitos FB and Shearer inframe will be damn near identical on a set of stockers drag ported. The Shearer will pull more RPM with a set of cylinders that breathe better like a CP or twister cylinder. I bet you could test both pipes back to back at the same track and not get .05 worth of consistent difference.
-
Jay... Any idea if that was a chassis dyno or a motor dyno?
-
They haven't cast a serval in anything other than a 4 mil and stock stroke. Honestly, I think once you're going 7 or 10, cub is the better method...
-
Sleeper, which trans? Was it the extreme?
-
Wow...just wow... CP is actually coming out with a "Alley Cat or Wompus Cat" I believe is the name. ON the outside, they look like factory stockers. They are actually the same (I believe) as cub cylinders inside.

JD... Next time you have it split/torn down, hit us up. We can change it from stock to N Down for ya...

i have setup hundreds, yes hundreds, of routers, Wireless APs and switches. Linksys is my number one choice for home/small office use...but D Link and Netgear aren't far behind. Linksys is now owned by Cisco, the biggest name in the network business. Depending on your provider, you might want to rent their modem and not buy it. When I bought my house, I started with Comcast, bought my modem and it worked fine. I hate Comcast. They lasted a month...and I got Wide Open West. That modem I bought would not work right with their system. I rented theirs. I've been on ATT UVerse since Dec. of 2007. They have their own Router with wireless built in. The only time you need to spend the primo coin on a wireless AP is if you need extended range or advanced features like the ability to plug in a USB thumb drive, external Hard Drive, etc. Everything about wireless range depends on two things. Distance and building composition. A signal will pass through drywall easier than brick, period. Same thing about floors.... See if your provider will lease you a modem with wireless built in. If not, a wireless AP is 50 to 75 bones. MAKE SURE, MAKE SURE, MAKE SURE you take the time to lock it down with a password to access it. Here's what I tell all my clients. Nothing digital is impenetrable. If someone wants your data, they're gonna get it. But if you make it harder work for the occasional or drive by (yes, drive by) novice hacker, they will move on to the next easy target. I tell my clients this as well for an analogy. I could put 10 deadbolts on your front door of the house. If you don't lock them...your chances of someone walking through the door go up... Now, if someone wants to get in your home bad enough...they will find another way. The key is not making it easy for someone...

I think there is a post on here dragging him through the mud. If you haven't already, I think it would be the right thing to do to post this in that thread as well.
-
No, I completely understand that...but they all start out from the same mold...

NEVER have I seen that type of detail and quality in pipes. You're lucky to get the Orings to seal it to the motor. I absolutely love the raw finish on these...but any bit of water and it'll rust, nothing you can do. I do wipe mine down with WD 40 when done racing/washing.... Nice post Dave.

I've yet to see any Chinese aftermarket cylinder put down any respectable numbers. This would be a first. I'd like to see real world numbers out of this...thanks Jay.
-
What does it run, Jay...and have you had any issue with the plating? Who's dyno was this run on? (Not doubting, just asking the questions that all drag racers ask...)
-
Jay...can you post a larger, more clear image?
-
I'd agree, depending on the distance. He's planning on running an 8 over arm. At that point, why add more power than it can handle in the first place? If you're dune racing, some of it is motor, more of it is setup/getting the power to the ground...and some of it is who has the brass ones to pin it over the whoops and keep it pinned @ 70 to 90MPH.
-
Get a 4 mil serval cylinder then...save your money. Otherwise, you're wasting power. Our 10 mils that ride in the dunes use 14 over swingarms and they still ride a wheelie a long, long way. Build a fast dune bike...
-
Save you money on porting for something else. Like an override transmission, better clutch, etc. What are you doing about a chassis and setup to get this power to the ground? Any builder on here can clean up the casting flaws on them when they sell you the cylinders...it's a little work, but it's worth it. Otherwise, save you money for other stuff at this point. WindycityJohn loves Trinity...he'd be very upset if he heard you talking bad about them.

At Planet Sand last year, the biggest drag event in the world for ATVs, etc., RDZ took the world record in the 0-400cc class. He used a cub cylinder. Do the math.

I have mixed feelings about WCR. I can tell you my 1-5 N down I bought through Jeff @ FAST (done by WCR) about 5 years ago still works flawlessly. The Extreme transmissions left a bad taste in a lot of folks mouths. They've moved shop a time or two, and that creates issues for getting a hold of them. I did read where they bent over backwards to help one guy out with a 6 speed override (very tough to do and keep it working on a banshee...very tough) and the user just couldn't be satisfied in the end. I think the user was asking too much, WCR even went as far as to ask the user to send their cases in so they could test it....long drawn out story. I have a guy that does transmissions now....but I can tell you WCR's normal transmissions (NOT 1-6 or Extremes) are damn good trannys. And again, I haven't heard anything on the extremes either...last I read they were working hard to figure them out and make them right. Any builder right now is having some set backs due to the weather all over the country. When the superbowl is in Dallas, TX and there's a ton of ice and snow...you know there is problems....
