  1. i wont get too carried away, there still has to be power to run everythign else
  2. u can still hone the cyl, just not bore them. all honing really does is take all the fine sctraches out and breaks the glaze. id wait til it blows again, but thats just me. i got my sleeves from LASleeves (after i found a crack in my left cyl) and i havent had any prob;ems with them yet.i then paid $80 each to have them installed and bored to fit teh new pistons http://www.lasleeve.cc/index.cfm?event=pro...;product_ID=984
  3. that sux ur up in IN, b/c i need some more business down in my shop here in MO
  4. FINALLY!! these r all the pic i took of the truck and whats left of it. like i said before, the way it looks the fire started around the heater box and went from there
  5. and i thought havign to drive there to go to work sucked, uve got to live there  Adrian, MO here bitches
  6. thats funny, heres a few more. ive got 4 left but photobucket is being worthless right now
  7. ya, one thing though, were a chevy family  we just used the ford as the wood truck. dad thinks the it was a short around the heater box. ill be putting up the pic of the inside in a while
  8. well, heres the pics. its not as bad as i had originally thought. the inside of the cab is a total lose and the motor is possiblilly salvagable. the underside of the truck look good so thats a plus. both dad and i think the fire started at or near the heater box in the enigne bay. the time elapse of all this happening was aboout 5 min of so i think. dad said it got real hot real quick i have a few more, but im having problems getting them to load up in photobucket
  9. im running 100 oct AV Gas and im at about 160psi i believe and havent had any problems
  10. ive always just used aluminum (sp) spray paint on it before i reuse it. havent had any probs yet
  11. last nigh my mom calls me and asked if i had talked to dad. i hadnt and she told me that the '79 Ford F-250 with a flatbed burned up in a fire. i was like "WHAT! Is dad alright!" she told me that he was about 100yrds from where he was cuting wood and as he was driving down the road to head home the truck started smoking thur the heater box. by the time he got stop and out of the truck, flames were coming out of the hood and the rest is history. thank god he got out before it was too late  i havent seen the truck yet but dad told me that all that is left is the flatbed, the load of wood :yelrotflmao: (kindof funny i thought for as bad as the whole deal is), possiblly the frame and suspension. he also thinks that it was elelctrical, melted a fuel line and the fire took off. ill get some pics of it once we get it home today
  12. in theory, it should. it has a little smoking problem b/c of all the blowback in the cyl walls and thats y it needs to be bored up. we drive it on the street a lot, so the 2800 stall just isnt good on it. once we get it bored and actually turned in a strip car, dad will either put the 2800 back or go to the 3500 stall he has with the dual 4 holleys in the back room
  13. go to pivotworks.com. the bearing kits got for like $40 or $50. they r awesome bearing IMO  i ran 'em in my 87 quadracer and didnt have any problems and i just install they're swing arm kit on my 98 banshee
  14. kindof what i was thinking
  15. check the gear that goes btwn the kick starter arm and the clutch basket and make sure the clip is still there
  16. now i wouldnt say that. it took me a yr and 1/2 blow the shit out a brand new 2000 honda recon. burned 2 auto clutches out of it and locked the crank up so bad that the shop had to cut the crank in half with a torch. but besides the recon, everything ive heard about honda sport quads has been really good, with the 400 being toward the top
  17. i personally think Razr 2s r better then razars. my buddy was running them on his 88 'shee and he would hook up and be gone pretty quick in grass ( was boring .60 over with my FMFs, single 35 and boyseen reeds)
  18. ya, i just priced one for 46 at bikebandit.com. at 1st i thought the bolts that hold the back of the basket together backed out (had just put the basket in the night before, and ive had the bolts break loose even with red lock tight) if it aint one thing, its a fucking 'nother!
  19. same here  never had it in the 1/4 yet. the motor is basically on its last leg. it runs pretty good, but needs to be bored REALLY bad and have a smaller stall put in it. this winter my dad and i r going to put a posy rear end out of a 77 TA in it and a different stall.
  20. FUCK! that must be my problem then (the wobble) i was using all OEM washers and the clip. looks like im going to have to price a new one tomorrow then ::
  21. gee i wonder (considering as usual ure holding most the champions)
  22. i need some ideas on how to keep that fucking clip from coming off. its fucked me asobut 3x now. Loco had a post about it a few weeks ago but i cant find it now :wallbash: :: also, the idea im on now is just taking bailing wire and twisting it on tight.
  23. must be nice.........
  24. in my exp., its all been good. ive got one on my 98 with a dune P&P. i just put on a stock 04 with 18cc domes and T-5s. i also put one on a 03 4mil stroker and it would pull 4th gear on its own on pavement. ive noticed u do lose A LITTLE bit of top end, BUT NOT MUCH. u do gain on the low end. just my $.02
  25. congrats on finding the only real place to find infor about the banshee. if u need port work or flywheel lightening, get ahold of rocketboy. he did my cyls and flywheel and i couldnt be happier
