  1. So he takes it to a trusted shop and they rejet it and proceed to call him and tell him that it's still running exactly the same. I'm not sure that this makes much sense, it seemed pretty clear that jetting was the problem. Assuming the jetting IS fine, what's the next issue we should chase? The stator? Reeds? Compression?
  2. No other replies?
  3. What symptoms can you expect with chipped reeds in a VForce 3 cage? What if they're just not "fitting right" can this cause any noticeable isues?
  4. Took it for a rip, definitely feels like the mains are too rich. Thanks for the all the input.
  5. Oh, did you mean choke tube? How can I make sure he's got that on there? I don't really know what I'm looking for.
  6. What the hell is a choke tub? Hahaha. Thanks for the input.
  7. Well he said it was bogging while riding it before, and also just revving the same way it is now. We'll double check, but I'm pretty sure nothings changed.
  8. Plugs looked dark brown, but not too bad. Borderline, maybe. Fresh gas, plugs and oil hasn't had any effect, at least just revving it. No room to run it right now. Going to purchase some jets and get cracking at it I guess.
  9. Definitely need new O-rings where the pipes join the cylinders.
  10. Oh, Buddy says that he thinks the P/O ran lawnmower 2 stroke oil for premix in the last tank. Could that cause anything like this?
  11. Thanks for the tips guys. So you think it must be running rich? Makes sense.
  12. From what I recall, it's worse.
  13. So it definitely sounds like a fuel related problem and not something more serious? That'll make him relieved haha.
  14. Buddy's Banshee he bought isn't running the greatest. It idles fine and everything, but when you start to open it up it really sounds like it's not warmed up. It's not quite what I'd call a bog, but the power just isn't there and it won't rev out like it should. It sounds like the engine is still cold and not warmed up yet. Could this be caused be old gas/oil? Tomorrow we're gonna throw a fresh tank in and change the plugs, they could be fouled I guess.
  15. Well, I took it apart and pulled the ball, spring and O-ring out. Put it back on just to get it started while I wait to get a rebuild kit. I won't get a chance to go to the dealer until Monday at least, but is there a chance that they will STOCK the kit, or will I have to order it do you think?
  16. Spraying it didn't help anyways, so I guess I'll just take it apart later on.
  17. I just sprayed the shit out of it with some WD-40. Not expecting much, but it's all I can do right now. Don't feel like driving all the way to the Yamaha dealer today. I'll try find some other shit to spray on to. Thanks guys.
  18. Klotz R50 at 40:1 is all I run in my 2 strokes.
  19. Haha okay, thanks for the reply.
  20. The kickstart on my buddy's Banshee won't wing out. It's like it's locked in the closed position. Is there any fix for this that doesn't involve buying a new kicker?
  21. Any quick fix tips for a Banshee choke not staying out?
  22. Also, if it is the spline.. how big of a job is fixing that? Expensive? I imagine the cases need split..
  23. Buddy is going to look at a Banshee tomorrow, was told that the kickstart lever is toast on the outside, that it just needs a new lever. If the lever is off, what is a good way to make sure that nothing inside the engine is wrong
  24. Haha, okay, cool. Thanks guys.
  25. First off, I apologize if this is the wrong forum. I don't know where else to ask. I've had my Warrior sitting in the shed for a couple of years. Went out yesterday and started it up. Went to put it into reverse to back it out, and as soon as I pulled the reverse lever back, it just started moving. Even with the clutch it. Now, I'm pretty damn positive this isn't normal. Any idea what can cause this?
