  1. I put engine ice in and have way better cooling. strange how such a cheap item can do so much
  2. I researched the difference before I bought and the difference is heim standard for atv joins will take 17000 p.s.i. pressure and ball joints will take 26000. Heim joints allow for more articulation but are not sealed therefore require either more maintenance or earlier replacement. However the bonus is that heims can be purchased very cheaply from jeg's or summit and do not require reaming of the spindle. I opted for the Heim just because they are not a special order piece and allow more adjustability. I bought the cheapest cro-moly arms I could find with heim joints from vlfj (ebay i.d.) Full flight racing for $415 shipped http://photobucket.com/albums/y32/munkenaround/ for my pics of installed
  3. I would keep the box and swap the lid for a K&N powerlid. The powerlid comes with outerwear and can be bought for $90 at rocky mountain atv. I've done this and am very happy on how it filters the air before it reaches the inner filter.better safe than rebuilding your engine.
  4. I have an extra set of brand new low profile stems that are bolt in. THey require no drilling but would then locate your valve stem on the inside of the rim. Ebay-$25 shipped
  5. I'd try what led said for the $$ it will be the most durable.
  6. I have a pre charger on my powerlid and I like it so far
  7. according to the manual the bore is 64mm (2.52in) stroke 54mm(2.13in) and stock compression is 6.5:1
  8. Baldwin is a small city Northeast of Silver Lake that has miles and miles of trail loops each one is 20 miles or better. On the map its where hwy 10 and 37 intersect. National Forest camp anywhere.
  9. Chromke is king cuz all you hace to do is hit it with the sos pad. I have polished and as long as you keep it coated your fine too. Polishing out a tarnished bumper or new bumper blows which is why they have vibra-deburr with special media.
  10. Maybe powder chrome is the answer. All the looks of chrome without the metalergy problems associated.
  11. Why not start with a port job?
  12. I live in Michigan in the SW corner. We do a Silver Lake/ Baldwin trail trip at least twice a month when its nice out. Friday night thru Sunday afternoon trips are nice.
  13. chroming is getting more expensive everyday due to the EPA regs and California is the worst. I work for a company that has chrome shops around the globe. The waste and containment issues as well as handling costs big $$. I bought a g-force axle for 199 chrome with a rad-type lock nut +2/+4
  14. I used the sos pads on my rail headlight buckets and it worked great, polished them up real good. I'd try freezing the material 1st and chipping off the frozen more brittle material. That worked on some buggy exhaust that I burned a windbreaker on tryin to adjust the clutch
  15. I'm gonna buy the g3 reeds cuz a friend has em on his 250r and it scoots like a mofo
  16. I bought them a couple of weeks ago and they seem fine. Adjusting them before final installation was supposed to be the thing to do typical to any adjustable arms. But all in all I'm very satisfied with the finished product. I have pics of my shee http://photobucket.com/albums/y32/munkenaround/
  17. I have one of those too. I added a pipe and now run a 320 main 30 pilot for the winter. I think the jet size difference is that those arent genuine mikuni jets. not to mention k&n sends 1 each of 2 different sizes
