  1. lol good one bansheeboy. I have replaced the stator about 6 months ago it rings out fine I don't know though. yeah I was spanking a raptor one minute had to hurry and get to work went home put it up and then went out to start next morning nothing........Well been messing with it all morning and found that on the cdi box someone has cut one of the wires coming from the box and fixed it with a wire plice connector anyway it didn't hold......shitty job. i took it off and soldered the wires together put it back and and was thinking it going to run. Nope, nothing now it doesn't even have spark. I guess I'm not going to be riding for awhile just going to do the whole shabang stator new harness new cdi guarantee it will run then!

  2. i just completely re-did the wiring harness, all wires are brandnew. brandnew coil. i know I cant test the cdi without swapping in a new one but noone around here has and older model banshee with this type of cdi. my question is would a bad cdi just make it spark everynow and then or would it not spark at all?

  3. Riding one day, it was running like a raped ape put it up. Went out to ride the next day wouldn't start. Started with the wiring harness I knew it was mangled, made a race harness but kept the light. still the same thing only spark every now and then. tested coil didn't like what I was getting bought a ricky stator coil still the same. tested pickup coil and stator, they ring out fine. went back to the coil done testing and couldnt get anything from the secondary test. called ricky stator and he says that the secondary testing is a crappy test and he doesnt know why they even give the info on how to do. tells me to stick the ohmmeter plugs into each sparkplug cap and it should ring out about 15000 did that it rung out 15.8 i guess its good? noway of checking the cdi its old style and nobody has an older banshee. this this has me banging my head on the wall! why would it just spark everynow and then? sorry for the length just want to know something banghead

  4. Yes they are going to stop making 2 strokes but that doesnt mean they are gone forever..I have been going to school to become a atv mechanic and ghet word all the time about this, the reason they are stopping is no doubt because emissions. I have heard that alot of people are working around the clock to keep 2 strokes no only around but also make them capable of better burning of the fuels. 2 strokes don't burn the fuel like the 4 strokes so until they can do just that then production will stop.

  5. yeah holyman im not much into that either :shootself: i took the arms off this morning before wrok and measured them they look perfect i took a tape measurer from the ball joint end up to the bolt end both sides measured perfect right on...holyman i made the barss bushing myself on a lathe and they have the inner sleeves running through the brash bushing. I did find one this out though, one front tire it out of align and i cant back the lock nut on the tie rod sleeve to fix it, its on there good. I'm guessin that maybe the back mount for the j-arm is tweaked a little bit like you said, anyway do you think everything would staighten up if i done a a-arm conversion? banghead

  7. well done measuring and found out that for some reason the chain tighteners were out of wack which may be the reason for it looking bent. but still the answer to the j-arm is unsolved it's not alot off you can tell just by the shock. Holyman I hope your wrong about the mounts being bent. I guess I'll take the j-arms off tomorrow and go from there. thanks for the help.

  8. I know its not the bushings just put new brass bushings in it, the mounting brackets look fine. so its a bent j-arm causing this thing to act wierd or a bent frame a bent j-arm i can fix as long as meat still sells the conversion kit. A bent frame on the other hand is a different story how can i tell if its bent?

  9. ok guys, this has me stumped I picked up anothe shee awhile back. It's a 90, well I just got it running today for the g/f she was riding it around and i noticed as she was coming at me directly head on it look like the back wheels were offset to my left(4 wheeler coming at you) so I started to ride it and noticed that, this thing just sucks you can try and turn the thing and it will just pretty much push the front wheels, the turning on it sucked. I"ve had it down to bare frame to get it powder coated and no weld or anything were broken. Well after examining some more I noticed that the right side j-arm is sittin closer to the shock enough to notice. So would a bent j arm make it feel like this or bent frame, Also do you guys know of anytype of measurements I can take or something to check out the frame,

any info greatly apreciated sorry for the long post

  10. been there before, the rods will clearly be longer but the hard part is figuring what size stroker it is, if you don't know, i got the same replies from vito;s and wiseco about how to figure out what size stroke. "read the label on the box" "it takes a vanier caliper to measure it"...........good luck

  11. Got a few questions for ya guys. At the end of august I'm going to get a Gorr mx port, I recently just rebuilt my engine....everything, when i rebuilt it i put in wiseco pistons and honed the cylinders had a little bit of scarring on one. the pistons have only been ran maybe 5 times since then. So before I get it ported should I have it bored and if I dont get it bored and have to have it sleeved or bored later on would it mess with my port work? Also How mych does the Gorr mx port run his website doesnt say anything about the banshee.
