  5. ok...in the motor there is a gear that the kick started engages so it can crank the clutch basket but on this gear there is a snap ring and washer. i have had instances where this sanp ring has come off thus letting that gear get suck rattle and just plain freak shit up worth a try good luck
  6. As far as the headlight yeah it ugly but it really easy to remove and i bet theyll be making a sick hood for too long and as far as the dealer wanting me to buy it i grew up with him its not the hey buy this quad so i can make money from you type of friendship he rides a banshee too and still says the Lt-r is sick can't wait to ride it
  7. Dude.......pregnant Britney Spear!
  8. Down trying to get on at the local dealership and asked the guy when the new 450s would be on the floor he said january early february also says he had the privlages of riding one... pretty much said theyre immaculate cant wait to see what they do i love seeing all the big companys stepping up the game......also its on the suzuki site now if noone knew
  9. Just picked up Blown 450 needs valves pistons timing chain but I can't really find anywhere to get the valves beside yamaha.........any clue?
  10. cheers to that
  11. I agree, boring your cylinders isnt going to do much if anything but the fact is that boring you cylinders has nothing to do the the CC the CC is the distance between the the piston crown and the and the bottom of the head. the Squish forces fuel mixture what not in the the cc and causes explosions So the tighter the CC is the more efficient the fuel will burn thus creating more power and can cause detonation due to low octane. All Im saying is that the combustion chamber has nothing to do with boring cylinders. Boring the cylinders really is just a poor mans way of getting around resleeving them. Butit does work just as good
  12. pk so your saying that making the CC smaller doesnt raise compression and allow for stronger explosions? If that is is then why is it when you put smaller domes in your head the compression goes up. I've been studying this crap going to school for it no trying to be a hot shot just trying to state the fact. Also you have to run higher octane with a smaller dome because of the compression.
  13. on the contrary on planet sand there is a dyno of ported cages with tdr reeds i do believe that were running up there with the v-forces, as some people would say maybe it all in how the motor is setup. If i was you man I'd do it I bet you'll see and notice a difference. just search and it will bring up some links.
  14. Dude did you put new bulbs in it?.........just a suggestion would be the first thing I did, if it keeps blowing them then its a bad voltage reg.
  15. This question has been asked like 2583569556565656569 times just do a search. here ill help you: Remove all the junk form your air box port reed cages lighten flywheel mod timing plate shave stock head and change gearing on bike. Virtually no money spend most of it can be done right now if you have no how and yes you notice a reasonable gain.
  16. Im not sure if anyone else seen this "i'm just currious why people say that boring you cylinders isn't going to do any thing for you. a larger combustion chamber more fuel = more power" Wrong a bigger combustion chamber equals less power. Why do you think people run 18cc domes and shave thier stock head that is to lower the combustion chamber therefore making more power . The smaller area the fuel has to explode the greater the explosion is going to be and vice versa, The bore really doesnt matter that much you might see a fraction of a gain on a dyno but nothing serious.
  17. The perdicament was, That I got a set of extra cylinders that need to be bored, well I'm gonn ahave Gorr port them, the only reason I was gonna buy pistons from him is because I thought maybe I had to get them matched to the port job but now I know I dont so it makes everything alot easier, I just think $200 a kit is a little bit steep, expecially when I get my wisecos for $125 thanks for the info guys
  18. Just talked to the guy, and asked him if I could just get a piston kit from himalong with porting the cylinders but they were $200 and I get them for $125 all day any size. So I wanted to know do I need to send the pistons to get them ported along with my cylinders and if I don't want is the advantages and disadvantages. Josh
  19. Ay guys im looking for the charcoal colored plastic, the color that came on the 97's i think my back fender is ugly and need a new one but i cant find anyplace that sells it i have already checked everywhere any ideas?
  20. I got en email quote like last week its $250 to port, I've been trying to get ahold of him to but no answer I need my cylinders bored and a piston kit from him also.
  21. a can of starting fluid would be the key just spray the fluid around the base gasket, intake boots, head gasket, anywhere, where there could be an airleak. Do all the places one at a time and if the engine revs when you squirt starting fluid there you've found your airleak.
  22. water in the gas will also give it the same syptoms you desribe......sorry forgot to mention that
  23. Is it getting gas? Mine done the same thing and the petcock in the fuel tank was clogged. They only need air, fuel, spark to run find out which one of these you dont have and it should fix it the air screw should be 2 screws out just start from there and if it needs to be turned in. Thats basically all the info we can give ya now, you have spark? nice blue spark everytime? good plugs? whats the gas mixed at?
  24. No Cheetahs here either but I had this problem on a project bike I am building, the wiring harness was mangled, it would run perfect 1st-4th but 5th and 6th would bog backfire and cut out. i made a race harness and everything was ay ok, the thing about it is you said it was happening every now and then this problem happened everytime you would ride it. still worht a try though.
  25. forgot to say, they'll even switch riders with the same outcome. it doesnt matter when you hit the last gear and you still getting pulled there is hardly anything a rider can do.
