  2. yo shift shaft assembly to 06795. OVERNITE, I NEED THIS PART
  3. yo props to fixitrod!!! Damn parking brake switch failed, unplug it all smiles. but as i put my buddies back together he brings mine back... stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. WTF u gotta be a genius to keep these running well its off to the wanted section for a shift shaft assembly. somehow he managed to turn the shift pawl backwards, and i just broke it off trying to fix it. anyone else have this problem??
  4. my advice is to ride and se what u really dont like, attack that situation first.like i got my shee about a yeat ago, mostly trail riding i hated the clearance issue. so i bought oversized tires, problem solved. then it wasn't fast enough intake reeds exhaust. i ran my foot over while riding(Cmon, you know u did it at least once) nerf bars, heel guards. Theres endless possibilities, keep making ur shee what u want it to be
  5. ok my buddy is the type of kid who has $$ but no sense at all brings his banshee to my house asks me to take a look. the bike starts fine and idles, but u open the throtle and nothing happens. the rpms dont build, even a little bit it dosen't bog completely out, pop, sputter, just idles. even thought it idles u can hold the throttle wide open for 20-30 sec and nothing. i though he broke the throttle cable but both slides are moving smoothly. i guess this is a sudden problem, like he was ridin it and then there was just no throttle response.Stock 2001 save for the K&N and proflow. Could it be the TORS, i already dissconnected the 2 carb switches and the plug into the controll box, no change. ive suspected the reeds are pretty shot, im gonna check those 2morrow.Plugs look a little rich but certainly not fouled. Would a chipped or cracked reed petal be the source? im pretty baffled so any ideas, no mattter how far fetched, are appreciated oh yea after about 5 min of idleing the right side will give a pretty loud backfire and some flame out the tailpipe
  6. yea stay away from clear rad hoses, WOGO are junk in my opinion(don't know of any other brands). Oh sure they look great, especially if u color the anit freeze to your bikes color scheme. i used to run them, till the long one split and left me stranded in the woods. same thing happened to to my buddy on his yfz 450. theres nutin wrong with the stockers, especally if u plan on getting those aluminum inline coolers. also with ur leak be sure it inst at the hose connection, mine had the nasty habit of slipping off
  7. same thing happened to me on a snow ride. Ball pulled right out of the socket. It can be replaced pretty easily, first get urself the correct a arm as all 4 are unique. i made a seperator for the ball joints, hell i diddnt even have to make it just piece it together at the hardware store.Find a 1/2 in collar, like the kind for joining threaded rod together, its hex shaped on the outside. and a short 1/2 in bolt with the same size threads. pull the cotter pins and remove BOTH nuts and brake line place the head of the bolt on the bad ball joint and the bottom of that collar should go over the upper balljoint bolt and press against the knuckle, expand the tool with wrenches untill its tight. u might have to give the steering knuckle a light rap with a small hammer while its under tension, and the ball/tapershaft should pop right out. then the pivot bolts then the shock. check the forsale section for an a arm. lots of people have gone to the +2 setups and just got em layin around. Good luck. I hope some of this is usefull to u. Clymers is a great supplement. Oh yea pickup some DOT4 u need to pull a brake line off. Ur lucky it diddnt come undone on u while u were haulin ass. Cause it hurts GET R DONE!!!!
  8. be carefull with the YFZ. buddy of mine let his friend just hack one on and grouned the wrong wire. The result? fried ignition system. im pretty sure there a COP (coil on plug) setup on there so just do ur homework and be sure.
  9. well diddnt last nite suck! a snowy connecticut evening i decide to take the shee out for some fun. got all bundled up gassed up and took off. after about an hour i decided to suprise my girl at her house. bad idea. i decide to take the main road witch is fairly straight. top of 6th haulin and i notice the steering has gotten pretty stiff. no matter ill be to her house in like 2 min. ill check it out there. then i turned the handle bars left, to see the right front wheel damn near come off. slid across the road, caught curb, tumbled, run over by my own machine. lower ball jointjust let go. unbeliveably, i was able to limp the machine to the girls house. my a arm plate is all ground down, the front brake line pulled right out of the fitting. what a pain in the ass. to top it all off the girlfriends mother comes home earlier than expected and i gotta get the f$&* outta dodge in a snowstorm with no ride. the real lesson here: Next time just go home to the hand
  10. hey new member here, got a quick question. where can i purchase pilot jets, cause the guys at cycle performance said they have never even seen the pilot jet i brought for them to id. im pretty sure i need to go a size or 2 up cause with the new reeds and pipes i got my mains pretty well dialed in (300 3rd clip 1.5 turns on screw) but i get a wicked bog right off idle, a half sec later she takes offf like a bat outta hell but the bog is starting to piss me off. any suggestions would be awesome. quick shout to banshee brian who showed me a few things the first day i rode my bike @ a rock quarry in i think terryville. anyhow thanks in advance for any advice, dont be afarid to get technical as i am ASE cert.techhere in waterbury
