I dont know what to tell ya. Find out what suits your riding style the best and go for it. I like my banshee in the trails, it keeps up with the 450's and I only have a few mods. Dragging, the 450's pull on me a little bit. I like the 450's, they are fun, but it just seems like thats all that people have anymore. I like to have something that you dont see everyday. The only time that I can ever remember a 450 being in a better situation was when they could do steep hill climbs without much of a start because they have the low end four stroke torque that I didnt have. Just my .02

My friends got an 05 yfz450. Wants to trade for a street bike. Post what you have if anybodys interested... Ben

I am going to school in Athens Ohio right now. There are no Yamaha dealers around here. If I find out the size I can order one off of the internet. There is a dealer back where I live but by the time I get back there on the weekend, if I go back, it will probly be closed. If anybody knows the size then I can order the nut off of the internet. Ben

I am at school right now. There is no Yamaha dealership down here. I am trying to get a nut for the shee. heres a link. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx It is the one on the end of the A-arm just to the left of #35 on the bottom. It is the nut that goes on that bolt on the end. It has the slots in it for the cotter pin to go through. Any ideas on how to get it? I couldnt find it there on the Yamaha site. Well damn, I cant get it to go directly to the site but its a 2000 banshee and its under front suspension wheel.

Im not tryin to shortcut anything. I will take the cylinders in to get them honed/bored out but Im gonna do the rest myself.

So I guess Ill get the pistons first(one size bigger) and see how they fit and at least hone out the cylinders or if not bore them out?

I am running 40:1 yamalube and Wiseco pistons

I replaced the pistons last winter on the shee and did kind of a lot of riding this summer. While riding last weekend I noticed it wasnt running right. It took more kicks to start and wanted to stall all the time. Also it will not idle at all. I checked the compression after riding on sunday and it was about 60-70 on both cylinders. You could see that there was a gap inside the cylinder(the piston was not tight in there). I got the shee last fall so this is my first summer riding it. Is it normal to have to replace the pistons this often? Also there is a gap and there is practically no crosshatch on the cylinder walls and no grooves in the piston. Am I going to have to go with the next bore up and get the next size piston? it is .20 over right now. Or do I go with just the next size piston and hone them out or what? thanks Ben

I cant recommend that either Nate. Good luck learning on that thing. They are fast as hell and good luck with that thing. I would say boots would be nice and def a helmet, maybe gloves and chest protecto........what they said. weird

You sure that wasnt urine running down your leg? Could happen on a shee, never know. just messin man
