  1. Yeah I'll see when I can go out riding again and See how everything works out. Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.
  2. It made 77 hp, 40tq on the dyno with that jetting. 400 main, 30 pilot, needle 2nd clip. Now that I went to try it out it bogs in 2nd gear when trying to launch and then it kicks in. Everyone else is taking off well into the powerband just like it's supposed to. My bike was actually better at taking off when it was stock than now that it's putting out double the hp. Fail...
  3. Lol copy that. So my gearing and tires aren't my problem?
  4. Yeah that's the jetting my builder left it with for the break in. I'm guessing I could start leaning things out? I haven't checked my plugs, I'll do that. If jetting is wrong, why is my dad who weighs 180 launch fine? Also my mix is at 32:1.
  5. Stock flywheel, stock stator, stock swingarm, +6 timing, stock carbs, 400 main, 30 pilot, needle on the 2nd clip from the top, airscrews 2 turns out, my primary drive I assume is stock since I've never touched the tranny itself, 5psi on the tires. I recently just broke in the motor and decided to make some passes to see how it does, my dad who weighs about 180 was having no problem launching in 2nd, so I'm assuming my fatass is holding me back. On my dads stock stroke dune ported setup I was able to launch in second with the same tire setup, but he was running 13/42 gearing. I figured this is making more power so why am I having problems? I was thinking the gearing since I'm at 14/41, but I'm not sure.
  6. Alright so I have a 4mill stock cylinder putting out about 77hp, 40rwtq, I'm currently running 14/41 gearing and 20x10x10 8 paddle haulers, shearer sb inframes. So I tried launching the damn thing in 2nd this past weekend at dumont and no matter how high I revved it it would simply bog off the line and then a few seconds later hit the powerband. Only 1st seems to work and I'm at the top of 3rd with 4th only holding steady if I shift into it, but I want to be able to launch in 2nd then hit 3rd and 4th. Btw my fatass weighs over 280 so I'm sure that's my problem, but I've seen other big dudes launch hard. Maybe 13/42 gearing? 13/44? Thanks
  7. Yeah I kind of wish the power wasn't all instant around the 7k mark. Below that it's not really making power only like in the 30 hp range, but once 7k comes around it starts taking off like braaaaap.
  8. My ct racing 4mm stock cylinder made over 77rwhp and over 40rwtq. Stock carbs, sb shearers, 400 main, 30 pilot, pod filters, chariot reed cages, +6 timing, old 100 octane fuel at 32:1, majority of power is made from 7k-10.5k rpm. Engine isn't fully broken in, I'm thinking there is still more power to be made on a more aggressive tune and better fuel?
  9. Ahhh ok. I'll just keep my chariots and spend my money elsewhere.
  10. My setup is pretty much your dune ported 4mm on stock carbs, shearer sb. I weigh over 250 and I mostly drag race and occasionally dune also. Just wondering if these vf4 will actually make my bike that much faster that it will change the outcome of a race? I like these chariot cages, they work.
  11. The revival! So I'm currently running these chariot reed cages on my stock cylinder 4 mill. Would it be better to upgrade to the vforce 4?
  12. Yeah my experience with him was a definite miss. I guess no one is perfect in this field, but I just wish he would've been more helpful in trying to fix the issue instead of driving me in circles.
  13. Yeah well ct is simply the most convenient guy for me. Plus we had a great experience with him before. I guess we will wait and see what happens.
  14. The thing had plenty of power before the build so I assumed when Kevin did the compression and leak down test he was right when he said I don't recommend a new top end. Lol the fact is hjr sucks and is overrated! Guy doesn't even stand behind his work or willing to help out. This forum proves it and his Facebook page proves it. Ct might not build the fastest shit around, but at least his work is reliable and works hour after hour of riding with no problems. Besides not only have I had a great experience with his work before, he's down the street from my house and if I ever have problems I'll just drop by. I'm not looking for the fastest thing around, I'm simply looking for something that's fast yet reliable. Kevin couldn't do any of those. As for my questions on the shout box? Big deal! People ask stupid questions on this forum all the time! Nothing new about that. Obviously high temp hose is the way to go, but I was curious about any alternatives? Sorry I disappointed you bro!
  15. The guy either doesn't know what he's doing or he just shortcuts the shit out of builds and sends them out as is. The guy doesn't even have a dyno or anything like that so how does he know what works and what doesn't? Does the guy even ride and test shit out? He finished my build in less than a week! I dropped off my entire bike on a Friday and was done by the next Saturday. He didn't even put the right jets in there, he simply started drilling the ones that were in there. That's half assed if you ask me. I asked for a stock stroke dune ported setup, I told him to check if I need a rebuild, etc. so he calls me back a few days later and says I don't need anything, that my original 13 year old top end is fine. I was like ok... So he just ported it and did a half assed jet job and said it's good to go. Pathetic ass head work also, just a simple shaving no rechambering or anything of that nature, silicone all over the place, didn't even clean the carbs lol what a hack! Worst part is that he didn't even want to fix it and wanted to charge me all over again for something he obviously messed up on. Another builder told Me right away what it was based upon the symptoms and sure enough he was right! All kevin said was check timing, spark plugs, etc. the obvious problem was in the top end/jetting and he didn't even mention that! Circles circles... Hjr is overrated and not someone I would recommend ever! Ended up losing $800 thanks to his work! Good luck with yours...
  16. So i finally got my banshee torn down and it needs a new top end, jetting was all wrong, head was barely shaved and not even rechambered, all kinds of mistakes. I'm now getting a 4mm stroker, new top end, porting, engine dyno tuned, etc. It's unfortunate that I had a bad experience with HJR. Typical backyard hack job. I hope another horror story doesn't surface from his work, although i'm not the first.
  17. Yeah we will see what happened.
  18. I like the guy also, very cool and helpful. I'm just disappointed with the outcome of our plan.
  19. He did the entire setup in 1 week exactly. Seems like he just wanted to get it out of there asap. I don't know, but my bike was better off stock with just a K&n and pipes than how it's now. I called another builder and he told me that people go to him with Hjr motors that aren't running right because of improper dome setups. So I doubt i'm the first one with problems.
  20. I told him what I wanted and if it needed anything like a new top end then do it. He said it was fine and that I don't need one so I was like ok.
  21. My elevation is around 300 feet.
  22. Good luck with that man, he recently setup my banshee and it has nothing but problems. I dropped off my entire bike to him so that he could do a stock stroke, stock carb, dune port build. I told him if it needed a top end to do it. He calls me a few days later and lets me know that he did a compression and leakdown test and that everything was fine. So i get my bike back and decided to change the plugs, first thing i noticed was that the threads were really tight and it took forever to remove just one plug. After that I decided to do a compression check and it only put out 90 psi on both cylinders. We checked the same gauge on my dads 98 dodge ram and that was putting out 135-140 psi. I decided to squirt some oil in the cylinders of my banshee and the psi went up 5-10. Bike ran like shit at dumont and couldn't launch for shit in 2nd gear this past weekend. It kept bogging even with a 180lb rider. First was better, but still pathetic. I call him back and he says that the bike had 145psi stock and 150 after the shaved head. How is 145 psi on a worn top end with a stock head possible? makes no sense. Also I checked my plugs and after just one day they were black and wet. My mix was at 32:1 so It wasn't that rich, he told me to lean it out to 40:1 and mess with the jetting and carburetors. So to sum it up, he said he will try and fix it, but he's going to charge me all over again. The bike obviously left like that from his shop, but he seems to disagree. I had some high expectations based on all of these reviews, but they were far from met. Also the bike doesn't fire right at part throttle, cylinders fire randomly and pop like crazy. Also the timing was only set at +2 and not +4 like he said he left it. I will now look into another builder to set my bike up because the last thing I want to do is go in circles driving back and forth from LA to SD. I'm very disappointed with HJR.
  23. Alright cool thanks for the info. I noticed that the power delivery is way different than when it was stock. I couldn't open it up down my street, but I could tell that it needs to build rpms in order to hit that powerband.
  24. Ahh I see so the 20x10x10s are no good. So if that banshee put out almost 67 with t5s, can I expect more with the shearers?
