More name calling, more bashing. So, I guess that's a "no". You don't have anything intelligent to say. BTW, I don't have to "rally for support". People are agreeing with me all on their own. BTW, how is it over there in LaLa land? I was thinking about vacationing over there when I need a break from reality. Let it go, man. You're just making yourself look worse. Before, you just seemed to have an opinion opposite from mine. Now, you're name calling and mocking like a 12 year old and you call me immature??? that's a pretty warped sense of reality. Let it go.

loganskinner, Your sig line is a pisser man. I love it!

ASSumption is not what you originally typed. Has anyone else noticed that 2 out of the 3 people here who have something against the lawful carry of firearms are also the only ones who resort to infantile name calling? "Oh, and I'm through whenever you are" Never said I was going any where. You did. Do you have anything intelligent to say, or are you just going to keep name calling and mocking. Remember, you and your opinions are in the minority here. The more you keep mocking and babbling, the worse you look. And let me tell ya, you're looking pretty bad.

I grew up in NJ, where citizens aren't allowed to carry. Lived there for over 20 years. I was never "scared". You're argument doesn't work. Of course you wouldn't feel threatened if you wore that shirt, you're a tough guy, remember?

Bingo.

The quotes weren't for you, they were for another member who posted them previously. If you were paying attention, you would see the person I was addressing lives in Illinois. Apparently, that's asking too much of you. Also, you say the world will not be a safer place if you strap on a gun. That's not why we carry guns. We don't carry guns to make the world a safer place, we carry them BECAUSE the world is NOT a safe place. We carry them to make US safer. Again, I don't carry a gun because i'm "scared". I carry a gun to better protect myself and my family. There is no ego involved. If you feel you have to mock me because I carry a gun and you don't, fine. I really don't care. I'm not like you, I won't mock you back. I honestly hope you are never in a position that you need one, especially since you don't think you need one. Like I said earlier, some people simply need to learn the hard way. Tell you what. If you're such a tough guy and not "scared" to go out unarmed, next time you're in a bad neighborhood, wear a shirt with the words "hey, i'm not carrying a gun" in big, bright letters. After all, you're a tough guy. You'll be able to fight off all the bad guys, right? Even if they are the "pussy" types who carry guns...

PUSH THE THROTTLE, Excellent post. The point is, you DON'T know what other scum bags are there with that guy or if he has a gun on him. The point is to be prepared. Assume nothing. All it takes is that one time not to carry for something to happen. "Well, i'm just running to the corner store for some milk, I don't feel like strapping on a belt, gun, etc". Bad mistake. Geeze, if it's a short ride, don't even bother wearing your seat belt, right? Same goes for wearing a helmet. "Gee, all i'm doing is riding the Banshee in the garage to put it away for the night, no need for a helmet". Guys, shit happens. Be prepared. "On the other hand if I were getting the beating I would hope TurbochargedOne was standing there." I got your back, bro. Be safe.

"Sure I may decide to get a permit to carry a handgun one day" You can't. Illinois is NOT a shall-issuse state. Apparently, the

Happy to see the guys who agree with me speaking up. I appreciate it. The guys who seem to think it's not necessary are definately in the minority. banshee04le I'm 30 years old. Been around guns all my life. I grew up around them. They are second nature to me, much like wrenchs and sockets are to a mechanic. They are a part of my every day life. A I stated earlier, I have had to draw 3 times in my life. Once because of an attempted car-jacking by 4 guys and me by myself on the way home from my cousins house about 2 in the morning. Another because of a drunk who decided come at me with a lead pipe (reason unknown and there was no way for me to retreat) and the other was a house break-in when I was 15 years old by an armed burgler. My friend, like I said, you have no idea who I am and no right to judge me. You were 100% wrong with your ASSumption that it was my "big mouth" that got me in trouble. You should have quit while you were ahead. It is you who has the big mouth as well as the guy who called me a pussy for being able to defend myself the best way I know how. So, you've been working in a bad neighborhood for a long time and have never needed a gun. I'm very happy for you. I hope to God you never need one, either, as it's obvious you don't carry one. Some people aren't as lucky as you. Bad things happen to good people. Some of us try to prepare ourselves for those bad things and pray they never happen. Why do you have such a problem with that? Why can't you go about your life the way you want and let me go about mine as I want? Look at the rest of the posts in this thread. You are in the minority, my friend. Your posts have gone beyond being "curious" as to why I (or anyone else in this thread) carry a gun and have tilted towards mocking. I have no beef with you. I don't mock you for NOT carrying a gun, why do you choose to do so to me because I DO carry a gun? That's ok, you go ahead and dial 911 when something bad happens. Funny how the people who think citizens shouldn't carry or say they have no reason to carry call 911 to summon the people who DO carry guns (the police).

Meat, Thanks for the posting the pics!! I'll definately see you there this spring/summer.

I was the one who mentioned firearms. he was refering to me and you know it. I'll say it again, go through something like having to defend your life and then have someone call you a pussy for doing it. It's the hardest thing you could ever do in life and it will haunt you for a very long time, my friend. You're damn right that rubs me the wrong way. You're damn right I will snap back at that person. And until you have to go thorugh it, don't you dare judge me by my reaction. I don't need your approval to carry a gun. I carry one because it's my responsibilty. I don't live in a "bad neighborhood, yet I still needed a gun 3 times in my life. To think bad things only happen in bad places is just as ignorant as saying carrying a gun is for pussies. I'm astonished at the lack of common sense by some people. I wear my seat belt all the time, look both ways before crossing the street all the time and carry a spare tire all the time. And, yes, I carry a gun all the time. Better to have all those things and never need them then to need one of them and not have it. COMMON SENSE. Once again, you don't know me. You can't make a assumption like I shouldn't own guns by a post on a discussion board. have a nice day.
-
Never intended it to turn into a pissing match. I know better than to discuss guns on a non-gun board, too. But, I never though i'd be called a pussy, either. Doesn't matter. I said my peace. You either get it or not. If you do, then great. If not, then you probably never will (unless, of course, you find yourself in a situation where you need a gun and don't have one). Unfortunately, some people need to learn the hard way. Anyway, if anyone is interested in learning about the training and classes some citizens take, take a look in the tactics and Training forum over at www.glocktalk.com. The moderator of that forum runs a school for this very thing. Lots of good info. I'm also a moderator there.

I am officially wasting my time discussing this. Guys, of course you don't just shoot someone. You do everything possible NOT to draw your firearm. I always have the option to RUN. No, I will NOT square off with some moron just to prove i'm a man when there is the possibility of that fight escalating to something much bigger AND possibly losing my own gun to him in a immature fist fight. Who the hell said you HAVE to stick around in the first place? Common sense, guys. HOWEVER, if i'm hit in the head with an object like a skateboard, DAMN RIGHT the guy WILL know I am going to defend myself. If that means just brandishing, then fine. 99 times out of 100, just pulling up the cover garment will make the guy turn tail and run like hell. If he continues to advance, well, then he deserves what comes next. Like I said, though, my first thought would be to get the hell out of there. No one in their right mind wants to take someones life. NO ONE. Also, what a cop does is NOT what an armed citizen does. It's a law enforcement officers job to serve and protect. It's not my job to get into a tussle with some drunka nd roll around in the grass in hopes he doesn't get my gun. It's my job to GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE if I can. Comparing what a cop would do in a situation with what an armed citizen would do is night and day. BTW, i'm not going to go into detail about what happened. For one, it's not ethical and two, people involved in such things just don't do that. What you know from this thread is enough.
-
BTW, take a look at the other posts in this thread. It seems the general concensus is that a skateboard to the head is indeed considered assault with a deadly weapon. Notice that one member that is a police officer also agrees with this. For me to be called a pussy over my majority opinion is out of line. If he doesn't carry a gun, fine. that's his choice. I didn't bash him for that. Again, he bashed me because I DO carry a gun. Not only is thinking only a gun or knife is a deadly weapon ignorant, but it's also ignorant to think that the only people in this country that lawfully carry guns are law enforcement officers.
-
I'm bashing him?? Umm, I think you read right over the part where he called me a pussy. HE started with ME. HE bashed ME for MY opinion on how to handle the situation in the video. Dude, get with the program. Ever have to take a mans life to defend your own? Having to take a persons life in order to save your own is NOT something that is taken lightly. Nor is someones judgemental attitude towards a person who has had to do exactly that. It's my responsibility to be able to take care of myself and my 2 year old son. Now, for someone to call me a pussy because I carry a gun for self defense is out of line. Again, I was the one who got bashed...not the other way around. You don't know me. You pass judgement that I shouldn't be allowed to own guns based on one post on an internet discussion board (that you got ass-backwards mind you)? I passed a federal and state background check in order to be permitted to carry a gun. Forgive me, but I think that carries a little more weight than your idea of passing judgement based on a post on the Banshee HQ forums. "End of Story"
-
You bet your ass that skateboard is considered a deadly weapon in the manner in which it was being used. If anyone thinks differently, imagine YOU being bashed in the skull with it by someone. You can kill someone with your bare hands. What makes you think you can't kill someone with a skateboard to the head? Heance, "deadly weapon". Only thinking of a gun or knife as a deadly weapon is ignorant.
-
In PA, it's not only legal to use deadly force to defend your life, but your property as well. guess we're all a bunch of "bad asses" up hear in PA. Or is that, "scared ass pussys"?
-
Anyone can be a bad ass with a gun? Oh, really? Does that mean anyone with a Banshee is a bad ass even though he may not be able to ride the damn thing? Owning a gun does NOT make you any more armed than owning a guitar makes you a musician. A gun is a tool. You have to know HOW to use that tool to make it an effective one. It is your resposibillity to know how to use that tool. Scared ass pussy? I carry a gun. What in the world do I have to be scared of? It's your choice to go out unarmed. It's my choice to be prepared. I wear my sealt belt and carry a spare tire in my trunk. That make me a pussy, too? Now excuse me while I go out and buy a hammer and instantly become a carpenter.

Thanks. Shameless off-topic post...

The very same thing my bike did a while back, except it was my right cylinder. I fried the piston. Left side had 120psi, right had 40psi. Right pipe got HOT immediately. I melted the piston due to an air leak (blown head gasket). Do a compression test. Might be time for a fresh top end.
