  9. I have a stock stroke FAST dune ported shee with all of the usual stuff. V3s, Noss head 21cc domes timing and fattys. I have allways been told the pipes are holding me back. I am looking into getting something new but how much will I gain? The bike is pretty angry and plenty fast enough but I do not want to spend a few hundred bucks for a so so gain. Talk me into it.

  13. The same thing happened to me. I have a FAST port stock carb/stroke setup. The first rebuild lasted about 10 tanks then either I grabbed the wrong gas can and put straight gas in it or I had a massive airleak, both pistons were melted/detonated smearing to the exhaust ports. The second time around I bored to the next size and fattened my jetting alittle. I am at sea level 20cc domes 360 main 27.5 pilot 4th clip 40:1 Motoul. It ran great for about 20 tanks and last week it felt weak so I pulled the head and saw signs of detonation on the right cylinder. I thought the main had trash in it, so I took it apart and it was clean. Now I am debating on going to a 21 cc dome or taking out some timing. i had 150psi on a cold engine. It ran fine for so long that I do not want to get domes what should I do?
  14. I think I am goind to go to a 21cc dome. The bike has ran fine for about 10 tanks and then all of the sudden one cylinder leans out. I thought the main got clogged but it was fine when I took it out. My bowl were a few mm of but I set them back to 21. Should I take out any timing?

  16. I have a 03 with a FAST dune/play port, stock stroke, v3's. Noss head, 20cc domes, fattys, stock carbs, 360 main, 27.5 pilot, tors elim kit, welded crank, K$N no lid, + 4 timing. Recently the bike was missing on the top end so I pulled the head and saw on my right cylinder the crown of the piston was a little pitted, but the heat had not spread to the exhaust ports. i felt the piston was salvagable. So I put the head back on and did a compression test 150 in each cylinder, ice cold. I also attempted my first leak down. i used rubber stoppers but could not get one the exhaust ports to seal well. I eventually weged a screwdriver against the frame to put some pressure on it and it held 6 psi for 5 mins then my arm got tired and it lost pressure. So this leads to my questions, I run 40:1 motoul 800. Should I richen the mix, go to 21 cc domes, mix 50/50, buy a 4 stroke? I tried a squish test and all I had was some pretty thin solder. I got something like .053 squish, I know this is high. What size solder do I need? Please help
  17. I am still running stock carbs on a FAST port with all of the other goodies. I am running a 340 main 27.5 pilot and I was wondering about the float levels. Does a modded shee need more or less than the 20-22 mm float levels? Since everything else on my bike has to be tweaked to run with my mods what about the floats??
  18. Last time I rode my bike felt a little weak on the top end. I pulled a plug and looked at the piston and on the right cylinder I saw the begining of a lean condition. The circle at the top of the piston had a little heat with minor pitting, it was fully contained in the circle it did not go towards the exhaust. I thought it was trash in the main but it looks clean. I just rebuilt my carbs about 5 rides ago, the only thing that could be messed up might be the floats. The other cylinder looks great as do the reeds. Plugs looked fine, starts and idles fine as well. Give me some ideas.
  19. I don't know the only thing I think that is keeping me out of the 115 mph club is I am not running a boost bottle.
