  1. i know quite a bit about porting yes but not near enough where i would start porting motors but from what hollywoods porting i can tell my knowledge far exceeds his hell aving ruff intakes was the first thing i rember reading about when i started learning about porting and this goon still hasn't figured out that smooth intakes couse the air fuel mixture to turn into globs and not burn well mabey one day he will learn ...but probably not a stock blaster has an autolube oil injection system which causes injection of the oil in the side of the carb. marc's carbs get rid of the O/I grommet to the line(unless you inform him otherwise) which makes you run premix. premix atomizes much better than the stock O/I kit ever does. secondly the fuel/oil mix has to pass through the reed cage and the reeds themselves which are moving at 133 times a second at 8000rpm. with the carb rifling by itself it makes the air more turbulent causing the flow of air to atomize the fuel/oil charge even more. another thing is even if the intakes are polished or left unpolished what is the point? how much of a percentage of the fuel/oil charge actually passes over that portion of the ports? I myself dont really care if it is rough or polished because i really see no great difference unless it is a 4 stroke.
  2. The FACT is that your seat of the pants dyno proves nothing. Lots of people stick boost bottles, reed spacers, octane booster and those $20 spark plugs on their quads and then feel like they've doubled their horsepower, what does that prove? That people will 'feel' a gain ever if there isn't one just so they can justify spending all their money on it. Read back through this post and you will see exactly why this mod DOESN'T work. if it proves nothing then why were you and various other begging for a dyno sheet and CFM sheets? it shows a definite increase in low to mid rpm. people do often "think" it gives them more power which is one reason i did research and going with marc's business. ALL of his customers thought that way. it wasnt a couple here and there that thought indifferently, they ALL did feel an improvement. The reason why he lowered the price of his rifling is either 1. Nobody is buying them anymore because they're beginning to figure out that this doesn't work or 2. He's using it to pull members off BlasterHQ (since his is now banned from there) to keep himself in business. If he is tired of this then why does he continue (on a daily basis I might add) his immature games? prolly because you continue to rag on his work and as a moderator there is nothing he can do about. and a lot of people were really distracted by your claims. as soon as he posted the price lots of people decided to jump on it and every one of them was satisfied with his work. The dyno is proof that this mod doesn't even work, it gives less peak power and drops out of the powerband a lot sooner, what good is that? 2 strokes are meant to be revved, you don't often ride around at 1,500 RPM. The pipe and carb probably add maybe 7HP themselves, that means his awesome port job adds 1-3HP? Wow that's really worth the $250+ less peak power? .1hp? that is such a small difference in peak hp that it could have been just froma barometric pressure change in between runs for all we know. what are you saying it drops off sooner? if you are saying once it gets into overev(where no more power is being delivered and it is just added engine stress) then yes it does drop off quicker. your point being? what your basically stating that nything made for low end ina 2 stroke is pointless. you are somewhat true that you stay in the upper rpm's for the powerband but by your claim you make low and midrange seem like they are usless and shouldnt even be there. i guess powervalves are just gimmicks made by companies then. as we already cleared up on this topic before the dyno sheet is not showing peak power. daputz did the run to show the powerband. anybody with any dyno knowledge knows that certain tires, chain tension, and many variables makes a BIG difference in peak power numbers. not to mention this is RWHP as well. daputz blaster takes care of 400ex's(which make 26-28 at crank) with ease. so i guess he is only making 23hp then. If this mod really does work then why doesn't the man himself come on here and explain how it works? Oh wait, I forgot he refuses to do that too. I guess we should all just send him our stuff and he'll make it fast for us without question why should he? he has done it numerous times before and even after he has explained it you still shoot him down about it so its about fruitless to even waste time typing anymore. Yeah I've seen his top notch customer service. Someone asks him for help and he tells them to just take it apart and start over or to go read the manual, damn it's hard to find that quality of service these days if you ever read a clymer manual its about clear as daylight how it works. marc expects that if you are sending in your engine for porting that you know what your getting yourself into and you know what your doing. you dont see 12 year old kids with no mechanical knowledge taking apart their banshees and then sending them to passion racing and then they dont dotn ahve a clue how to put it back together. every one of his supporters knows what they are doing and installed the engine correctly and saw the full results. ive had over 30 questions asked of him in private messages stemming from last november when i was first interested in his work. ive PMed about any concern ive had and asked what he thinks works best with the motor and ive added other orders to his list including my friends shee carbs. as a matter of a fact he has them done and they are ready to ship to my friend as soon as he pays his paypal account. he finished 2 shee carbs in a week span with quality work and he is currently sick and still working when he can. the guy is down to earth and like a friend that you can BS with yet he still has great knowledge and knows what he is doing and gets the job done.
  3. EVERY person that has had their crabs rifled has FELT a difference I said spreading like herpes not crabs i meant carbs
  4. gurg what is your damn problem. im to the point where im about ready to find you and beat your ass. you have never tried any of his products. >EVERY< person that i know of that has hard hollywood's work has been blown away by it. it just works. EVERY person that has had their crabs rifled has FELT a difference in low to mid gains. marc at hollywood was so sick and tired of hearing this crap from you that he even lowered his price to $50 a carb just so people could buy it and prove to you that it does work. all you are doing is being ignorant. even though you think you have superior knowledge over the topic it becomes irrelevant when the CONSUMERS THEIRSELVES back marc up for his work. you guys asked for charts and graphs constantly so one of marcs loyal customers was even more determined than he was and put his bike on a dyno to show what the carb could do. even after he does that you still decide to be ignorant and keep bashing him. since you like distracting people from marc so much i will post a FULL review from myself and my friend(never even heard of marc before i told him) and we will post our opinions on how the carbs helped his banshee. your ignorance is untolerable.
  5. yeah i thought the same but he said he would do it 10 over and it was only 15 bucks for my friends so i figured what the hell. it might help a light bit and it will remove any flaws in the gasket mating surface.
  6. use new gas. make sure the oil injector is pumping, check plug gap, do a plug chop
  7. i personally go by feel but if you really want to you can put it around in the yard in a bottom of a gear and see how the plug looks.
  8. huh? no reed cage? what were the reeds attached to?
  9. well my friend sent his cylinder sand head into a machine shop today for boring. he wasnt sure about the head milling but i told him to. the guy that wons the place has banshee and i asked him to mill it down .030 and he said it was too much and it would be on race gas but whatever. anyways he seemed stubborn about it so i elected that he go and mill it .010 down because thats what he did to his banshee. even though this is not that much you think it will make any difference powerwise? the head is stock except i somewhat polished the domes but thats nothing.
  10. idleing wont show anything with the pilots. pilots take effect at 1/8-1/4 throttle right off the line. the air screw affects the idling.
  11. well look who strolled in. we are taking over the internet. tag your it i think ill go over to YFZcentral now.
  12. well look who strolled in. we are taking over the internet.
  13. well im not much for twist thottles which led to a wreck with the CR125 however it was prolly just that bike. it had 2 large dents in the FMF pipe and couldnt idle and wouldnt rev out. my friends stock 400ex would beat it so something wasnt right. the bottom end seemed well though. in first gear and second gear it would throw the front end up. i was kinda suprised that it would do that for a bike. i was just in the slightest bit thinking about getting a KX or CR500 for dragging only...........but damn they have to be really damn fast and almost crazy out of control with that much 2 stroke engine. i can see me now hitting the power on one fo those things in like 3rd and it wheeling out of control.
  14. im not saying you cant make them into MX machines and i bet they do well. im not bashing the banshee here. i think they are fun as hell and fast as shit and wouldnt mind owning one at all. you can also flatten out the powerband if you do proper mods to the engine, which is what im trying to do right now
  15. do you think somebody like me(5' 7") who has about 1 hour riding tikme on a badly running piped CR125 could buy a CR500 for dragging purposes only and still live? because im really skeptical that i would die.
  16. and then when they say "hey lets see how it does on a track" what do you do?.......................... not everybody just drags ya know. i personally like MX and i like my friends shee but its just not my thing unless you want to drag. the powerband is too lightswitch for trails and the chassis isnt up to par for any type of racing except dragging or soemthing that doesnt turn very often. thats why the banshee won the baja.
  17. my bro in laws DS(03) has beaten 3 brand new stock banshees the banshee riders are good too. just from the races ive all seen the DS and quadzilla both beat the stock shee.
  18. From what i understand, vito's piston are made by wiesco, to vito's specs. Not positive though, but i am pretty sure of it. I think alot of the companys that produce big bore kits like that have wiesco make the pistons. its to vitos specs thats why.
  19. shit i couldnt even keep the front end of a piped CR125 down............which is one reason i fell off and it wheelied another 20feet before falling backwards and shattering the rear plastic. imagine what a 500 would be like.
  20. yeah just hit the bottom of the float bowl with a screwdriver or somethin and it should stop. however i would still take the carbs off and check the float level and clean the carbs. it did it on my blaster and i tried cleaning it and a bee was inside my carb. how?........
  21. i think its funny how you had your hopes up so high and you were so confident you were gonna win and then you get crashed into firey pits of hell here when you ask about it. but hey you havent lost yet............
  22. its typical however running different oils can reduce/increase the carbon deposits. i myself am polishing nowusheeitnowudonts exhaust ports so there is less/none carbon buildup on the ports. as for the exhaust i doubt its losing any power from it unless its right where the port meets the pipe.
  23. may be the year i dunno. i believe the DS had a few changes through the years. however my bro in laws DS650(03) has edged out every stock banshee its ever seen. never killed them but edged them out.
  24. so my blaster does 105mph. cmon give me a break. whoa re you trying to shit. a stock 250R is BARELY faster than a 400ex. that comes out to about 69-70mph. i dunno where your numbers came from but i wanna go there so i can take these 120hp shees and beat indy cars.
  25. i have no experience with this but i believe that all the shees are the same speed except for the 96 model year becasue they supposively had much cleaner casting done until the CPSC stepped in. thats just what ive heard though.
