lone star outlaw banshee chassis
CarlosD replied to insain octain's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Is this still available? -
I'm planning on doing a frame up project so I'd like to see whats out there these days. Its been 5 years since I've owned a Banshee so I'm sure lots has changed. I unfortunately cannot walk into a parts shop and look around so viewing online catalogs is what I am limited to.
-
Did that. Not much selection if any. I visited every single sponsors site before posting my question. M&M probably had the best selection but even then it was very limited.
-
Hey guys just wondering what websites are out there with a solid selection of parts. I had my Banshee stolen a few years back so I've been out of the game for awhile. I live in Hawai'i so there isn't much of anything at the local bike shops. Thanks for any help.

I just saw your for sale thread. I sent you a PM. Lets try and work something out. I'm serious if you are.
-
I'm actually in the market for what you're trying to sell. I sent you a PM. Lets try and work something out before you powdercoat it. I've got cash in hand if you're serious.

Hey guys I'm looking for someone with a rolling chassis with title. I would hope the frame itself would be free of any defects. I'm trying to start all over again as my 95 was stolen right out of a shop and the owner left me high and dry. Unless you're located in Southern California I will need it to be shipped. Please let me know. Thanks guys.
-
PM sent. I'd like to pick this up from you but it would require shipping it. I understand your time is important so lets work out a total figure. I can send payment via Paypal, M.O., Western Union or an old fashioned check. Please get back to me.

PM sent regarding frame -
Im trying to piece back my Banshee that was stolen. Stupid jerks stole the rear shock plus the linkage. Im also looking for a stock front bumper, stock rear grab bar and some half decent pipes. Please post if you have any of this and the price you are asking. Thanks.

Guys how would I go about running a vin# to make sure its a clean bike and not stolen? My older neighbor has a bare frame and is not quite sure where it came from but its mine if I just take it. Before I even get involved I want to make sure its not stolen. If it comes back stolen how would I go about contacting the original owner to make things right and obtain a pink slip to it? In California we have to register off road bikes. Thanks guys.

A buddy of mine is going to help me out later this week with it. Once he opens it up I'll have a better idea of what went wrong.

Dont be a jerk. I come here for advice not to be ridiculed. I stated already I am no mechanic so why the cheap shot?
-
I honestly dont know. Im not very mechanically inclined but thats whats wrong with it and the only thing I can point to is a lack of oil unless my idiot friend rode it like crap.
-
Well boys I had a bit of bad luck over the weekend. I failed to check the oil level on my Banshee before riding and sure enough its seized. When I was towing it back to camp you can hear the thing squeal so loud. I can push the kick start all the way down with my hand so theres definitely no compression. I know its a whole rebuild of bottom and top end but I dont know the extent yet. I work at a dealership so at least I can get the parts at a fair price. My question for you is should I order stock or aftermarket parts? If aftermarket what brands? And since we'll have it all apart should I mod anything? Thanks guys.

Can anyone point me in the direction for popular Yamaha and Suzki ATV/Dirtbike web boards? Im trying to help out a friend start advertising on the internet. Thanks guys.

Guys does anyone know what the differences are between the LSR Banshee (Honda Style) Chassis and the stocker? I e-mailed LSR and all they could tell me was the Honda style you couldnt use your stock suspension parts.
-
WOW this has to be one of the most responsive web boards out there! Thank you all for the advice given. Im still unclear as to what to get though. Now I understand it will all come down to preference but can anyone give some pros or cons? I am pretty set on getting Ohlins front and rears and the Scotts Performance steering damper I just want to make sure I do the rest of the suspension right. So everyone seems to be in agreement I should get +2 width/+1 forward A-arms right? I never thought about this until now but once you get longer a arms do you have to replace the tie rods? Now the axle I do plan on replacing but no one has yet to say good or bad things about Durablue. Also would stock length be sufficent or should I go longer? With that in mind should I go -1 on the swingarm, leave it stock or go longer? Thanks for all the help guys.
-
I seriously wish money was no object . So I should get +2 LSR Front Arms, -1 LSR swingarm and Custom Axis shocks? These are better than the Ohlins I assume? What about the rear axle? Do I leave it stock? I was planing on changing the whole thing out for a Durablue.

Hey guys I am finally ready to do some suspension upgrades and was wondering if I can get some help. I have 95 Shee with an all stock suspension and its starting to hammer me down. I live about an hour from Glamis so I will be doing some dune riding but locally I love to hit up the dirt and mountain trails. I do not drag race at all. It does not appeal to me. When I do get a chance I would like to take my bike up to a course once I get it all dialed in. I hope thats enough background info. A-arms what size ? Stock or bigger? Ive been looking at Quicksand Motorsports or the Lonestars Axle what size? Stock or bigger? Looking at Durablue and Lonestar Swingarm what length? Looking at Quicksand Motorsports and Lonestar Thanks for all the help guys.

Hey guys I recently picked up a bare banshee frame from my neighbor for $20. She said it had been sitting for years and it was probably her sons but she wanted to get rid of it. I figured for $20 it was worth the risk. I inspected it and its in perfect condition. I cant find a single dent or crack. My question is before I invest any more time or money I want to make sure it is not stolen. How do I find this out? And if it does come back stolen how would I make things right to make it all legal? On my title it has my frame vin and my engine serial number so how much trouble would that be to get it changed if everything worked out? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Are any of our members or sponsors a dealer for Custom Axis shocks?

PM sent and e-mail sent.

If any of you are into car audio and have some parts you want to get rid of let me know. Id be willing to swap audio for parts or even for labor if you can do some work on my bike. Let me know through PM. *Edit* The bike is pretty much stock. I have a single K&N filter in a stock airbox and DMC Pipes. I just finished chroming out the front suspension and rear suspension. I am in need of side covers though. I would like to make the bike handle better and pick up just a bit faster. Im not looking for balls to the wall power. I need a good balance of handling and power if that makes sense.
