I start by slightly letting off the gas to ease the pressure on the transmission gears, then I lift my left toes up to hit second. It usually works. I do just the opposite to shift down. No, he is using the clutch...if you dont use the clutch...then your gonna eat them gears up before u can say "use the clutch" becasue i have broke 2 3rd/4th pinion gears...and i was using the clutch too.....always have...and it helps from not shifting..if you dont use your clutch then you wont shift so easy, you will be craming the gears back and forth....USE the clutch at all time...if not you will pay for it.
