  1. Sounds like an air leak. Idle, spray starting fluid in short bursts over the weak points of the engine. I found an air leak this way on my carb top. Piece of junk T.O.R.S.top was cross thread. Keep you hand on the kill switch......

  3. Replace the shift shaft,. You dont have to "split the cases." Only take off the clutch cover. Unless you replace/adjust and it is still f'd up. Then, you may have to split the cases, Rare is right. You REALLY NEED A CLYMERS!! Spend 27 bucks now and save a whole lot later. This whole project including the manual will cost you under 100.00 Get the MANUAL!

  5. Same thing happened to me. Pull the case off and check your shift shaft and the shift drum. There is a pin on the shaft that pulls the drum up and pushs it down. Mine came out. There is an aftermarket shaft and drum, Maybe someone can point you in the right direction. I put mine back togeather and it works fine
  6. Morning, Since I blew my shee up last week I thought since I had it apart I would try to get it ported and maybe get the head shaved. Would I be better off with a coolhead or mill my stock head? Can anyone point me in the right direction of a shop? I live in Michigan and was thinking about grand river racing but, it looks like their page is gone? Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks in advance. I want a bore, ported, and head work. With this work would I need a welded crank?

  8. I had a simalar problem and foud one pedal gone and two others cracked. Check your reeds.
  9. If you have aftermarket pipes there are two rubber guramets on the frame(near the exaust manfold,) that are no longer needed. They are a bit bigger but work well when glue is used.

  13. Are you guys trying to raise my bloodpressure? Why would I use sos pads on chrome plated pipes? wouldnt that scratch the fuck out of them?

  16. How do I remove burnt rubber/plastic from my pipes. I tried bug and tar remover... Any iders?

  20. Thank you for the insight. From the sounds of it, could it be anything in the case? There is always a few people who say, "I had a banshee and I had the same problem. It was the shift fork." Or somthing to that affect.... This is the first major problem I have had with my shee and I have no experience tearing it down. I just want to take my time and get it right. I am still paying her off.... Thanks for you patience.
  21. That is what I thought. A buddy of mine seems to think I need to rip the cases apart. I think it may have been stuck. I did adjust the main shift shaft adjust bolt. In you opinion should I put it all back togeather and try it?
  22. where do you ride, whats the temp, elevation, and your jet settings? I thought I had my jetting right too until, I talked to someone who knew what they were talking about. I was sizes too big on my main and one too small on my pilots.... Any other mods?
  23. I got the basket off and the shift shaft looks to be fine. I can shift with no problems from 1 thru 4. When I get to 5th I have to turn the mainshaft by hand. Maybe a 16th of a turn. Then it goes thru to 6th fine. Is this normal? Anyone got an idea?
  24. I am trying to get the clutch basket off now. The sheift shaft looks to e the problem. It isnt gabbing.... More to follow when I get everyting apart...
