  1. I have the Vitos super stocks, and they are made by wisco. My motor was pretty worn out and I can't say I got an 8 hp boost. The super stock kit is very high quality and I would recamend it. It is alot snappier in the mid range
  2. Everytime I see ported banshee jugs on ebay they have the intake ports raised quite abit. Can I do this to mine and get a few HP gain? I plan on tearing down my motor this winter anyway. Or should I just send it to a professional and bite the bullet.
  3. I've run nothing but CAM2 or C12 in my Banshee strait since it was new. Even when the motor was stock. You will not loose power. I don't think its nessesary but it seems to run better to me. I ran 93 in it one time and it sem to load up. I now run MR6 gas. You don't have to change anything with the cabs. Try it and see if you like it. if you don't, no big deal just don't buy it anymore. its not that expensive when you mix it 50% anyway. At least your bile won't smell like a lawnboy anymore.
  4. I bought a set of those carbs but I got mine from CarbsPartsWarhouse off ebay they are 28mm pwks taper bored to 30mm. It took a while to get them dailed in and cpw sent me free needles and a ton of pilots until it was right, it is a great company to deal with. I never had any problems with it flooding or doing weird shit. They ran right "out of the box" Rich as hell though
  5. You can pick up a dyno-jet jet kit for a banshee with pipes wich should include new needles. pilot should be 27.5 and mains around 280-290 with a vented airbox mix your gas at 32/1
  6. Man those are AWSOME!!!! How much for a set of in frames? I'm assuming they are a top-end pipe? What kind of power-band do they have? I have T-5s now. How would you compare the two?
  7. are they cpw carbs? I have those too. I am using 148 mains, 048 pilots and JJ something something needles.
  8. Just rebuilt my motor and used 020 Vitos SS pistons, The ones with the exhaust "cut out" in dome. the quality is top of the line and they are much thicker than stock. even the wrist pins were lightened. The machine shop did the bore with 001 clearence per side. Vitos claims 6-8 horse increase but that seems truely optimistic. I did notice a pretty big difference in the mid range. 3-4 maybe, it was very noticeable though.
  9. I just put a set of 28s on mine. move the needle to the blunt end as stated before. It should help. Also put in a smaller main jet, and do a plug check. You can adjust the needle all the way towards the blunt end and if that help even more you probly need a different needle. sounds like its rich, carbs take time to dial in, you'll get it, don't give up
  10. I put 19s in mine and it ran like shit. I'd would not rev up at all. I put the 22s back in and it ran normal. save the high compression domes for ported motors I guess.
  11. I'm going to silver lake next week for the first time. I have toomey t5s, vitos pistons and timing advance. The silver lake web site said the decible level had to be below 92. will I pass it? do they enforce the rules there? anyone ever went there and ran into the noise police? Should I even woory about it? Also what tires are better, sand stars or gekos?
  12. Banchetta, with the air mixture screw at 1 turn out it was smoking at idle. I turned it to 1.5 to stop that. I am now at 2 turns out wich was not a big difference from 1.5 so I left this ajustment alone. Stock needles were N80F and I have since changed to JJ needles. It it way better in the mid and top. A gain over the stock carbs that I can feel. Still alittle flat down low. I may have to live with it. I have some 45 pilots to try also. I'm putting in vitos SS 020 pistons as we speak. the motor is 9 years old. The clyinders were pretty glazed up. vitos claims an 8hp gain but think thats unrealistic.
  13. Before you use loctite spray the hole out with brake cleaner. Loctite won't addhear to oil and grease.
  14. I'm having my cylinders bored 020 over and installing Vitos Superstock pistons. Also gonna clean up the ports the best I can, not removing a bunch of material, just a polish. Also adding a +4 degree key for good measure. Will I need to rejet?
  15. BIG BLUE what is you current carb set up? I have those carbs and am having trouble with a bog right off idle. I saw a great mid and top end improvement though.
  16. At 65 HP I would have thought the stock carbs were holding you back... Why did those bigger carbs not help??? At what HP level do you need bigger carbs? Did you mess with the jets and needle with each different carb?
  17. I just bought a set of 28 pwks taper bored to 30mm and I'd say they give more than 2 HP. Its not just a little bigger its a better carb all the way around. It starts on the 1st kick now wich my stockers only did when nobody was around. You can get them on ebay from cpw for around 200.00 wich I think is a bigger gain than a set of v-force reeds for the same price. If you planned on building a stroker motor you may want to hold out for a bigger set though.
  18. So what your saying is the shape is more important that the size. Just because you have a big ass pipe it does not mean that it will perform better than one with the correct shape. Some shapes lend themselves better to stock motors and some to modded ones.???
  19. Why would the t5s respond better to porting? Wouldn't the fatter pipe be better for a big breathing motor? Toomey would not make a pipe that was a step down from thier last design.
  20. I here a ton about the toomey t5s, but whats the deal with the t-6s? Does anyone have them here? I heard if you trade in your old t5s toomey will give you a big discount on a set of t6s. They sure look fatter than t5s
  21. Could you just change 3 or 4 of the springs?
  22. I have T-5s, a cool head with 22cc domes, 4 degree advance key, K&N pod filters. I was tired of my stock carbs, they have excellent responce but it seems like at half throttle the motor was allready tacked as high as it would go. I figured it needed more air and/or better carbs. I bought a set of 28mm PWKs. They seemed rich out of the box. I have changed the needel, slow jet and main jet (all leaner) Currently I am running a 048 slow jet, needle 4th clip from the blunt end and a 148 main. I am experiencing a bog off idle to about 1/4 throttle. After that it seems to run pretty good. At least as good as the stock carbs did. I can't say it runs better than stock yet. Anyone with simaler mods/carbs/problems??? And help is greatly appreciated.

  24. There is no such thing as RAM AIR. The only way to pressurize an intake track is by means of a turbo or supercharger. The phase "ram air" was coined by the automotive industry in the 60s. It would more accurately be desribed as cold air induction. There is a huge benifit to using air 70 degrees cooler than the air under the hood of a car. The advantage is from the drop in temp. no ramming is going on.
