Yep, I had to do this in the sand dunes once.. Bike all of the sudden locked into gear, and wouldnt shift. What happened was my shift shaft popped out, and the star would not engage properly. Check your shift shaft to make sure its pushed all the way in towards the stator side. If your clutch cover is severly worn in that area, it might not provide ample pressure to keep your shift shaft in place! all I did was push the shaft back in, and I havent had the problem since. I think this can be a fluke issue at times, maybe if your jammin gears!

steering stem bearing replacement

X2, weld a nut onto a 30mm head bolt. Should come out very easily with an impact, from the top that is. From there the bearing comes right out. -
airbox adapter boot for 28 PWKs
87sheerips replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Go to the plumbing section of your local hardware store. You can find rubber couplings reducers that work awesome! It does push back your airbox off the front tabs, but I like the fit better than forcing your stock boots. -
1. you will notice a "seat of the pants" difference, especially down low. With your mods, keep it at +4 maximum. Depending on your compression (16olbs or less), you will be fine to still run 93 octane fuel. 2. I would get your head milled to raise the compression higher than stock, to take full advantage of the timing mod. 3. The degree key is the cheap way out, and Ive heard of them shearinhg. Just get the plate and be done with it! Good luck! This mod will take about an hour of your time, the first time. Get a flywheel puller, and take your time. Youll be fine. Dont forget to setu your pickup gap properly when u put it back together! -JD

Banshee HQ trip to Badlands in Attica, IN

We need to figure something out about meeting up at supercross somehow. Maybe Ill start a post on it. Exchange numbers or somethin... -
i agree with the above statement. Take the time to research, and solve problems yourself. Resort to HQ when you are completely stumped. You only learn by making mistakes, and realizing what needs to be done so those same mistakes don't happen again. You will always get shit here by asking redundant, stupid questions. Also, I wouldnt refer to your mechanic anymore, this guy sounds like a real piece of work. Invest your time, invest in a manual, and figure it out. Thats half the fun of owning a banshee. Also, there is no reason to keep the TORS. To make your life really easy, go get yourself some keihin 28mm PWK's! Not here to dog on you bud, just a little advice from a 10yr banshee owner that used to ask stupid questions. Try adjusting your throttle cable so your slides sit at the same height on either side. I think you said you adjusted your tors to make that happen, but you may want to re-visit it. Good luck!

Tyson builds awesome banshees, thats been proven. For a less-expensive route Jeff, check out Rob at RB Racing in Lansing. he did mine and bobbys bike, they both haul as well.. About $250 for the dune port I think.

What tires? lightest best hook for gravel road
87sheerips replied to ryansedy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Id go with kenda Knarly, or Klaw depending on the looseness. The knarlies work well for chunky stuff.. Maxxis RAZR's are great for all-around too! -
I like the hondabond, just used it for the first time and it works well. Get a fine tip for the bottle, it makes it much easier to apply. A small brush will help you too!

ANY offers? -
Ok guys, time to get rid of all the RC cars, this is the last one I have left. Ill get some pics up later. What it has: 2.5 motor, got some life left but I was guna exchange for a 3.3 all radio stuff auto-starter (everything works great!) tools for the truck Aftermarket rear tires in decent condition What it needs: Steering knuckle some general TLC. This truck was driven quite a bit, needs some cleaning and some small odds and ends. It runs and drives well as is (once you get a steering knuckle that is) This has been an awesome truck for me, but I want to get into 4x4 RC's this spring. It rips damn good and jumps even better. I am definately willing to trade for some banshee parts (performance items preferred) so start throwin out the offers whether it be cash or trade! Thanks! Im lookin to get around $175 shipped for everything (cash or trade) -JD
