  1. Yea man, do it!! its not a big deal at all, here is some pointers that I have learned and applied to my bikes. I switched my trail bike back and forth one year, just to experiment and do something different. 1. You must convert your carbs to run alky. I suggest running 34PJ's as I have had good luck with them. Also had good luck with 35PWK's on Alky. Main jets and dumps are usually drilled out somewhere between .120-.125". Yes, garden hose flow of fuel LOL. 2. I use the same ratio of 32:1 with the same oil as I use with gas. Klotz Supertechniplate 3. Methanol is "Hygroscopic" Meaning it attracts water. Hence requires purging of gas so your internals don't rust. You must run mixed gas (you can just purge with 87 octane) Most guys run a secondary bottle you can hang from your handlebars and feed fuel lines to your carbs. OR you can just drain the methanol from your tank, and re-fill it with gas and run it until it want to die. This process takes only a minute or two. 4. DRILL YOUR GAS CAP VENT TO .125"! (critical for proper fuel flow) Also, it is a good idea to run a Pingel fuel valve to be safe. 6. Hammer down on the throttle. You can run methanol rich as hell and you will still run great. Thats how I run mine at least. Engine will run nice and cool, and have planty of lubrication. 7. Methanol usually runs for about $2.50 a gallon compared to 110 octane which is about $6.00 here in MI. It about equals out since you burn methanol roughly 2x as fast as gas. Hope that helps you!
  2. Did u get the grille yet?
  3. Guys, I remember a long time ago there was a thread on how to fix F'ed up gas tank threads (where our plastics mount right by the seat) Mine are blown out and I need to either fix the threads or buy a new tank. Please let me know if you have the repair how-to or a gas tank for sale with good threads. Thanks! -JD
  4. Heres my latest design. Holds CDI, Coolant bottle, Volt regulator. PM me if u want one. Comes with all hardware. Can be PCed by request. Fabricated from .080" 3003 aluminum. $40 shipped.
  5. Nope, I have some internal tooth washers that will secure the "nubs" of the coolant bottle to the underside of the bracket. Should be pretty solid!
  6. yes, I'm sorry, but in no way will installing this bracket weaken the frame. Cascade sells brackets that use self-tappers as well. I will be running this in my personal bike without thinking twice. I will run the aftermarket aluminum bolt on version as well, not the weld-in. Check out the mock up pictures from last night. They are ready to go!
  7. I am also going to make a steel version for those who want to weld them onto a bare frame. I will have 4 aluminum versions of these in stock and ready for purchase.. Will come with all hardware for $40 shipped.
  8. Damn wish they were 34's!!!!! PM me and let me know if they fit small, i would love to have these
  9. Yea, I just don't like the location of that bracket. I have one designed just like it, then I thought about the heat coming from the pipes and radiator... Didn't seem good for electronics. I will design that bracket as well when I get the time, for now I am offering the bracket as shown above.
  10. I cannot wait to get my front and rears!!!! They are sposed to come in tomorrow!!
  11. The Michigan state campground is my favorite spot to crash and party. We stayed in early April last year and it was FREEZING at night, but a blast. Its damn affordable too, with good showers and campsites right on Silver Lake. Cant beat it. Most everyone leaves u alone that early in the season, and I love that. The summer is getting too insane there to have fun. Too many rules and regulations. We should be there! We all have our Banshees tore down to the frame, but should all be up and running in a month or so. Everyone bring their sparkies and I suggest re-packing your silencers just in case they are checking for noise (unlikely that early in the season) Im going to try and bring my drag bike and trail bike, plus we should have 4-5 others in our group. I have never had a problem camping with my bike out on a trailer, or even off the trailer. Just keep it close and you will be fine. I have not heard of many theft issues at silver lake. A hotel, on the other hand, I would want an enclosed... But hotels are for kids Hope to see everyone there, and I have this date marked in!!!
  12. Yes, I am going to make a revised one for just CDI and V. reg.
  13. I can understand that. They will have rubber grommets on them to seal off the hole, preventing water from getting in and all that. I just figured it would be a quick way for the average DIY to do. I might drill and tap mine, but the self tappers will work well too. I also thought about making slots for hose clamps, but that will look cheap. Ideas are welcome so don't be shy. This is for you guys so, BY ALL MEANS chime in with mounting suggestions.
  14. Thanks guys... I will have installed pics this week for sure! They will go for $40 shipped including all hardware.
  15. Well I have had a lot of requests to develop a CDI, coolant, V. regulator bracket. Here's what I came up with. I will get installed pics this week. it will come with all hardware needed, and is currently designed to install with self tapping screws right into your frame. This will clean up all of your components in a nice and organized bracket. let me know your thoughts!
  16. They are both gone from my stock. I can cut you new ones though. PM me and we will work it out man!
  17. Dave, I have an engine stand fresh off the PC line ready to ship out. Because of some improvements I made and the powdercoat, I have to sell these stands for $70 shipped. These stands are awesome (not to brag) but it works perfect and the adjustable height is really nice for working. I am not looking to trade really, only for a nice cut wire harness or some billet front lights. I can do the bumper too, i replied to you on banshee central. Email me at [email protected] and we can move forward with both items. Thanks! -JD
  18. Klots super techniplate, 32:1 never had an issue
  19. Good deal on those pipes man, SST's are nice. Bump!
  20. Send me a PM, I will get you taken care of. Browse my site www.jdscustoms.com and see which grille you like. If you want to do a one-off custom design we can do that as well. Thanks, and let me know what I can do for ya.
  21. I plan on making a plate this week sometime, as I am in the middle of rebuilding my trail bike. I will make a post when its complete and ready for order. It will be very similar to the GB bracket and will mount the CDI, voltage regulator and coolant reservoir. Dont hold me to the time frame, this week is insane busy for me... I will let u know when I finish the design.
  22. I have a nice OEM filter box with a UNI foam filter in it. $40 shipped.
  23. Thanks for the info guys, but I think I am going with a set of fast-fibers. I will be in touch if I decide to go a different route. Thanks again!
