  1. I had a GPS mounted on the handle bar of my stock 02 banshee on a dry paved road with no wind and my 230lb ass on it and it topped out at 73mph - bone stock.
  2. now thats funny I hope mine dosn't gernade on me, its on 01 too which I guess is the worse year. In the mean time I still have the Banshee as a back up. I still need to run em side by side and see which one wins. Oh by the way I raced an 05 raptor yesterday with my 01 and beat him every time, I think it was mostly error on his part since he would pull a wheelie every time.
  3. Well she prob is since my moms dead, but since you know me so well I guess you allready knew that. If I would have known you were jokeing around I wouldn't have said that, but it didn't seem like you were jokeing. I just thought of something tonight while ridding my raptor, I bet most of you guys who are bashing the raptor have never ridden one. Because holey crap its frickin sweet. I will say one thing about the banshee though, it is more stable and might be a little faster. But holey crap reverse is bad ass and it has plunty of power.
  4. I'm really gunna hear it for this one but: I'm sick of dealing with the banshee, yeah its great when it runs, but the rest of the time (most of the time) is missing, fowling out plugs, running like shit, not starting ect.... maybe I'm too stupid to figure it out, but if thats the case why does everyone else with a banshee that I know have the same problems? yeah maybe the raptor isint as fast and may seem more tippy to some people, but thats worth it to me to not have to always be dicking with the banshee for it to run right. Even if I have to fix the trans I'll be better off. And not to mention lack of reverse, and the shitty 80's stying of the banshee. If banshees are so kick ass, someone buy mine and have a ball with it, I've had all the fun I can stand with it.
  5. I guess I should have expected catching hell for asking a question like that on here. I my defence I'd keep them both if I had the money. I guess I dont see what everyone has aginst raptors on here.
  6. I just bought an 01 Raptor & was wondering if there is a site like this for raptors? I also have an 02 Banshee that I bought new thats mostly stock that I'm intrested in selling. Email me if intrested. I live in Grand Rapids, MI [email protected]
  7. I dont understand what could possably be wrong with yamalube, its made by yamaha right? I'll take the yamalube off your hands; Email me if you want to get rid of it [email protected]
  8. At last a small pouch made from a kangaroo's schrotum at an affordable price! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4161042134&rd=1
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4162494383&rd=1
  10. Get a big crap saved up and shit in the vents by the wipers on their car. Its eaisest if you squat on the hood and lean on the windshield with the palms of your hands. Then clean it off the outside with a paper towel or something. next time they turn on their heater or AC it will stink like shit. hahahaa that will teach them to complain.
  11. hey squish do you have a pic of that fitting you put on? sound like a good idea. Also did any metal shavings get in the rear end greese when drilling the hole for the zirk fitting?
  12. hey Blue Duece where did you get that one with the temp gage built in? Thats bad ass.
  13. was it hard doing that impeller pump? I'm thinking of getting one because mine has overheated a few times since I've done a coupple of mods to it.
  14. I bouht my banshee in canada and have asked this question since I bought it because the owners manual says 24:1 and everyone here in MI says 32:1 I've been running 28:1 (right in the middle) and havent had any problems.
  15. I found this on ebay and was wondering if anyone has one installed on their banshee. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2469246638 I have done some minor mods to by quad and it tends to run hotter then it did when it was stock. I've also thought of those in line coolers with the fins on them. I was just wondering if anyone has had luck with eather of these products. thanks for your time. Also how hard is it to install hat water pump impeller? If anyone has done one on here, your imput would be helpful.
  16. $5,100?? someone got screwed! I got mine brand new for $4,488
  17. The 97-02 Exped. are allright, except for balljoints. I would not recommend the explorer, I've owned 2 of them they are junk. if you do go with an explorer stay away from the SOHC 4.0L its a pos, has plunty of power but the timing chains rattle appart and jump time. also the 02 and newer explorers have rear end problems. Of course if you put on on 35's its going to be guttless. and as for a modded vehicle being in the shop, of course its going to brake all the time. I havent really heard of that many problems with the expeditions. They seem alright to me. Just my 2 cents
  18. what happend to those pics of that chick on the banshee????
  19. Ok, first off your right you dont deserve to be sworn at. I'm sorry for my foul language. Secondly your still wrong, and I cant even to begin to scratch the surface in the aeras where you are worng. The reason I wrote "from what I understand" is because this is how I understand it to work. UNLIKE YOU I dont go shooting my mouth off acting like I am an expert because I know there is a chance that I may be wrong. I keep an open mind, you should try this. If you had I wouldn't have been so harsh on you. I cannot stand Iragont people like yourself who think they know everything, then prove to you that they don't. You on the other hand claim that you "know" how engine breaking works, however your theory is wrong. You said that a diesel engine has little engine breaking because it has an unrestricted intake, thats why I thought you understood engine breaking to have something to do with the intake. So thats where I was going with that whole blowing vacuume lines off thing. think about it if your compressing the air from the engine back through the intake, would't that happen? What vehicle has a plastic intake?? holey crist for someone who is such an "expert in engines you should be able to rattle a few dozzen.. Since I know nothing, heres a few that have plastic intakes My 2003 F150 5.4L has one, so does my 1998 Ford Crown Vic 4.6L. Ever open the hood of a Taurus they all have plastic intakes. How about a windstar, freestar, ranger, mustang and a Focus, they all have plastic intakes. You never heard of any of these cars? Oh thats right you only speek on factual knolwedge right? So you MUST not have ever head of any of these cars. DAMM YOUR SOME KIND OF AN EXPERT ALLRIGHT. *side note. I work at a ford dealer and rarly see under the hoods of other vehicles but I believe the dodge neon has a plastic intake (I had a friend who had one) ok heres another good one from boonman "With your theories, these vehicles should stop on a dime every time you let off the go pedal" Yeah thats what my theory proves... right. At which point did I say engine breaking will stop you on a dime? But to answer your question, YES engine breaking does occour when you let your foot off the gas. you normally dont feel it because you probably have an automatic transmission. DO THIS put the trans in 1 (thats past Drive and 2) take off, get going to like 20-25mph....let off the gas, what happens? HOLEY SHIT ENGINE BREAKING. You can do this in a manual transmission too. Perhaps you dont know what the 4 strokes in a 4 stroke engine are. 1Intake (sucks in air from the intake, which also creates vacuume in the intake) 2Comresson (this is what your running aginst in engine breaking) 3Combustion (when the air/gas mixture explode sending the piston down) 4Exaust (exaust valve opens and the piston traveline up pushes the gas out) Take away fuel and air (so there is less combustion) and push the engine (from the driveline) and what do you get...engine breaking So during the compression stroke how in the hell is air going to be pushed back into the intake? Lets see....with both valves closed, it wouldn't. SO WTF DOES THE INTAKE DESIGN HAVE TO DO WITH ENGINE BREAKING????? NOTHING YOU IRROGANT JACKASS!!! Just to clairify I do not dissagree the fact that diesels have unrestricted intake air flow. my point is that the Intake side of the enigne has little if anything to do with enigne breaking. Which makes perfect sence, since the intake is only exposed to the volume inside the cylinder during the intake stroke and at that time the exaust valce is closed and the pistion is traveling DOWN. It just baffels me that you dont understand this. How can I deny that your bs is BS? because it is, retard. by the way what sort of mechanical background do you have? just wondering where you get your "factual information" from.
  20. does the winning bidder get the silencers too?
  21. My point exactally! Same thing in a gas engine
  22. buy an old school bus, rip out the seats load up the quads, some sleeping matts (or whatever) and beer and go. you can buy a decent used school bus for 1,500 or less thats a grand less than the U-haul deal. when your done sell it for scrap metal, or you could sell it to a homeless guy.
  23. I think a raptor would be a better choice than a banshee for trail rideing. Banshees kick ass in the dunes... but with no reverse and a narrow power band (that takes some getting used to) a raptor would be a better choice. in my opinion
