  1. I'm running 18's and just git my motor back together, not the stroker but it was done by jim and the 15/40 want let me out of third at the track. Not raced yet but just went to play a little but this I think is what I will run .Just a thought. What ever sprokets you run devied the front number of teeth into the rear number of teeth and that is what gear ratio you have.14/41 is stock gearing and that is a 2.93 gear ratio 15/40 is a 2.67 .If you went whith a 14/38 setup you would be geared 2.71.If your stock then it might not be a bad thing.Just keep trying you'll find what your looking for.

  2. I ran those low gears at the first of last year on a semi tight track and had to use the clutch a lot in the turns cause I had was in a higher gear than everyone else and it made for a lot of shifting .Went to a 15/40 and 15/41 and it was a lot better.Still could start in 2nd gear and didn't have to shift as much in the race.I liked it a lot better.I think you will find that with these gears you will run 3rd and 4th gear if the tracks are tight,it will make your gears longer.

  3. You can PM jim and tell him what you want and he can put it to gether for you .He is easy to talk to and does return his Pm's.Just tell him what you want to do and he will give you your opptions. He also will tell you how to get out of the build the cheapest way.Thats what I liked about him was when I told him what I wanted to do with this motor he started telling me what He could do to get it for me and then told me what I could do to save money doing it.He is real easy to work with

  4. For got to mention that the motor started on the fourth kickand just set there and ideled like it was suppose to .Jim ported it to keep as much bottom and mid as he could and he did I'm running a 15/40 on it with a -2 swing arm and with out realy getting on it yet just still playing with it ,it will go in to a turn and come out of it in 3rd and not having to use the clutch. And as to how much, it wasn't that bad for it I think for complete build on the motor including a set of clutches it was around 750.00 with the help of the BHQ.All the moded parts were done by members here .

  5. Well I read the reveiw that Duce posted on his motor and it sounded like what I wanted,so I contacted Jim and we talked.I had like Duce talked to other builders and liked what I heard from Jim better ,so he don the work.I was going with the stroker but after talking with Jim oppted to do his Mx porting instead.

My total build included Jim's mx porting he also ported me a set of stock reed cages to match his porting installed boyseed carbon fiber reeds on them.Pro design intake with 28mm carbs,a pro flow adapter in the air box, timing advanced +3,lightened fly wheel, pro design cool head with 17cc domes.

This to me is going to be a very competitive set up.I took it for the first ride yester day. After going thur the breakin procedures I took it in the back to where I have a small tight track.Still not going to wot yet I was very pleased with what I have.I still have some fine tune jetting to do on it but I like it.After I get the jetting right and have a chance to take it to the big track I will post more about it. :headbang:

  6. I waded up in with another quad last year ended up in the middle of the first turn face down on the start. We were the first two there got ran over by the guy just behind me :  Thank god for the CHEST PROTECTOR.Only got dislocated ribs and tire tracks on my back and side.So it does do a little more than protect you from roost.Mine is a Thor After shock and I love it ,it is my friend :headbang: .Kind of like playing full contact football without pads to ride with out it.

  7. I ended up in a 400's lap on the start of a race, causeing me to flip got ran over by the 400 that fipped me and the other one behind me most of the others could get around or get stop.Dislocated 4 ribs (tore the muscle form the rib) tire marks on my back thur a rock jacket and hyperextended my knee.DG bumper on the 400 cracked my helment, but all in all came out of it in good shape. The price to play.

  8. I don't if it is true but was told that to polish the jugs(cylinders) wasn't a good thing to do to ride it ,it would cause it to run hot.Just a thought, and the rouge I used is the gray it is for cast metals and cuts fast, then went over it with the whiteit is for general use and puts a gloosy shine on most metals. You can clear coat it after you are done to help the shin stay with out so much rubbing. It does look good but takes some time to do.Thanks :headbang:
