Poly, personally I have found that if you are interested in graphic design you don't really need a whole lot of traditional drawing skill (ie painting, drawing, doodling). I know many digital artists that can't really free hand draw on paper, but do incredible work on photoshop/psp/poser/etc.
Originally graphic designing was what I wanted to get into when I came out of highschool, though the simple tasks of learning 20 different programs was much more then I could handle.
Now most of the time I am just frequent with psp and photoshop, doing free fun work for bloggers at modblog.com Graphic designing and coding is more-so a hobby for me now then an occupation. Too many are into it..
