I do have to say something about the KFX700. I have not seen or heard anything good about those. I talked to a dealer and he told me it would do 60MPH backwards. I told him that if he could prove it I would buy it in a heartbeat. I went out with him on the Banshee and he could not keep up for anything. Don't go with the KFX700. Raptors are not that bad once you do a little work to them. But they are way to top heavy. I found that out at the dunes last weekend on my buddies. Go with the 450 if you want a 4 stroke. Or hold out for the Honda.

thanks. I found many places on how to build them. But no one tells me how to use them. I think that it works just like a compression tester. Again....thanks for the help

How would I do a leak down test??? I have never heard of that. I just hope that it is something that simple.

Well I did check for spark....there is plenty there. Before I started I drained the tank. I placed brand new fuel in there. The plug was wet when I tried to start it so I know that the fuel is getting where it needs to go. The chain is not on right now. That is why I was not to worried about the sproket spinning. I also did the compression check and everything was just like it was before I started. Is there anything with the timing that I am forgetting??? Clymers manuals pretty much suck about that. There is nothing in there about it. It was pretty weird how I snapped 5th. I was getting ready to go up a hill so I downshifted to 3rd. I think that the tranny got locked between gears causing the problem. I do not know why 5th went. It is still blowing my mind.

mine doesn't do that...... the clutch is easier to user on the raptor i think.....and the thumb throttle is easier too.. The thumb throttle is easier for the Raptor cause you are not moving 2 carbs. I went to the twist throttle cause I got sick of having to ice my hand after a day of riding.

Well I read just about every damn page in the book. There is nothing in there about timing. It is starting to baffle me because everything that I need is there. Does anyone have any other manuals besides the Clymer manual??? I would hate it to be something simple that I just overlooked. I got spark, compression, and fuel. The stupid ass shop wants $100 to just look at it. I have had a few of my friends over that know just about anything that you need to know about Banshees. Maybe someone out there has had the same problem.

Just have a question to see if anyone knows. I blew out 5th gear last weekend. I tore the bike apart and replaced the gear. I even followed the book to make sure that I did it correctly. All it told me to do was make sure that the tranny went into all 6 gears. Which it did. than it told me to put the crank back in. Nothing about making sure that it was in any certain position. After finally getting it put all back together, I tried to start it to make sure that everything was ok. Well there is a problem. It will not start. Also when I am in neutral the sproket spins like it is trying to move the chain. I was just wondering if anyone has rebuilt a tranny and please just let me know where I fucked up. I really do not want to take it into the shop so they can charge me an arm and a leg. Is the crank suppost to go anywhere special??? I did not see any timing marks on it.

For some reason the other day both of my headlights went out. I know that the bulbs are good. Does anyone know what went bad so I can replace it.

I am having a hard time deciding what color what color I want to paint the Banshee. Does anyone know if there are any webites that you can take a Banshee and try differant paint schemes???
