I make a wooden box frame out of 2x2's,and bolt the motor mounts to wood 2x2's and use lag screws to mount the motor in the box frame. Then I staple cardboard on the sides and top of the box.
If you check a motorcycle shop there is a product called Blue Job that works great to keep pipes from blueing.I used it on my motorcycle I got mine at www.jpcycle.com
The first thing you should do is pipes, reeds,k&n filter, and rejet the carbs. These mods will really wake your shee up.I would then get a noss head, and if your up to taking the motor apart I'd weld the crank, and have a port job done.
I always ride in the mud,it sucks cleaning the shee but it's well worth it.I agree with fixitrod if you ride in water get rid of the stock carbs.Flat slides work great in the water.
I took off my grab bar,and put the rear part of the frame in a long section of pipe.I had a buddy sit on the quad as I lifted the pipe up,and it worked great.
Just wanted to say "HI" to everyone.I just got back from Disney World.I spent a week there with the wife and kids. It,s nice to see the site is up and running.
You don't have to rejet for reed spacers.Performance wise the spacers will give as much power as a new sticker set.People mostly use the reed spacers so their larger aftermarket carbs will clear the clutch arm.
A company called Liquid Products makes a spray called atv wash/mud release.I,ve heard good shit about this and I'm going to get some on my next trip to the dealer.
I didn't think it was hard at all.Really the hardest part is removing one of the stock rotor bolts, and with a little heat that wasn't really that tough.
