  1. Right now it's like 80 degrees. This problem started before the rebuild I'm also at around 250 feet above sea level. Maybe the pilot is too small, but why does it start easy once it's warmed up? Thanks for all the replies. Keep sending me ideas.
  2. The choke tube is connected between the carbs and the TORS is removed and unplugged. I've tried using the throttle at different positions and still no start. Anything else you guys can come up with?
  3. I haven't tested the compression since I rebuilt it, but I used my finger to cover the plug holes and had someone kick it over and it pushed my finger off completely so I'm sure its good. Clymer's manual recommended doing that. As for using the choke, I use it every time I start it. It still doesn't work.
  4. O.k., the problem I'm having is that my bike is extremely hard to start. Pretty much the only way it will start is if I flood it with carb. and choke cleaner. I just bought a brand new ignition coil, plugs, cleaned the carbs 5 times (taking every jet out of both carbs and the choke each time) cleaned the air filter and has a brand new wiseco top end in it. I've checked the spark...it's good, there is fuel getting to the carbs and i've checked for air leaks and the reeds ... all check out good. It seems like its a carb problem but I am positive the carbs are clean and every jet in them also . This problem has got me and everyone I know stomped, so I'm gonna see if you guys can pull me through this heartache . Now the bike is completely stock except for the top end but it is still stock bore. Once you get the bike running from the carb cleaner and it is warmed up, it will start and run great just like a new bike, it is just a pain in the ass to start when its cold. Please give me some ideas. Thanks a lot...

  6. Well guys, being in Alaska, I have been fighting with riding in the snow all winter and spring so far. Well finally, the snow is just about gone for the summer and I'm starting to really test out these new klaw XCR's. Went riding after work yesterday to the same place that I always ride and amazingly where I used to slide out of the curves, my bike hooked up like I was on a thumper!!! My bike shot up dirt hills and gravel hills like a rocket! Hook up pretty good on asphalt also. Raced a stock 450 and smoked him by about 5 bike lengths, but I smoked him off the line also. Now this is only on gravel, dirt, and asphalt along with some slushly areas. I could go on for ever but, the Kenda Klaws are freakin awesome! Great traction compared to stock. Best thing is that they are only around 40 bucks a piece!! Just thought I'd share my experience with them. Later....

  13. yea, I know what they are. Just never ridden one. I'm the same weight and height as you, and have had people tell me that would be a good bike for me. I think it would be o.k., but I would rather get a 125 becuase once I got used to the 100 would want a bigger one like the 125. I've ridden my buddies 250 and it's a little to heavy for me. I'm pretty sure you could set one up for motocross though. Just my opinion...

  15. man, they played that shit with my wife for christmas. she ordered a couple movies for me early december and i didn't get them till a couple weeks ago. everytime i tried to call they wouldnt answer. they are not business oriented people. i guess they are not worried about having good customer service. so i hear what you're sayin buddy!

  17. It's up to you man, do you want 4WD or 2WD? For muddin and woods ridin and pullin things I'd go 4WD, that's what I did before I had a banshee. For ridin in dunes and beaches I would get something with more top end like the banshee. A 4WD will more likely want to bogg down and dig in the sand. Maybe a wolverine would be what you're lookin for, it's 4WD but more sporty than the grizzly and kodiak but it's not an automatic. If you're lookin for more speed than torque go with a 2stroke. But if your new to quads you might want to start off easy first before you start rippin shit up. Anything else to offer him guys?
  18. I've always owned 4-strokes until I decided to try out the banshee. Once i got it I was amazed of the difference. It's heartstopping compared to a 4 stroke (I still love the 4 stroke too), but it is so much more fun. I'd say go with what you will be riding mostly. For dunes, beaches, and wide open fields, I'd go with the banshee. It's a great quad and yes you will do maintenance on it but it is basicly really simple maintenance! If you think you feel more comfortable with a 4 stroke, then go with that, but for the riding you say you will be doing, you shouldnt need a 4WD and a 2 stroke would do fine. Like I said man, just go with what you feel more comfortable with. I personally love my banshee although there is some maintenance involved with it, but this site will help you out when you have questions. Hope this helps man! Peace...

  22. Yeah man, from what you said, it seems like it's brand new! I know the wheels and tires prolly ran him at least $475 if not more. If the bike looks like it has only had two tanks of gas ran thru it and not all beat to sh*t then $5,800 sounds like a pretty good deal I would say. What are they, around $6,400 brand new off the floor right? Just make sure you check everything out on it, especially the frame! That's always my first look. Wouldn't want a new bike that had the frame twisted or bent in it. Check for weird engine noise and leaks also. That's just my little two cents... Later man.
  23. The raptor's rear offset is exactly opposite from the banshee, nice if you want a little wider. yeah, I had raptor rears on mine. Made it a little wider. It was pretty nice.
  24. I have an 02 that is going through a little make over right now. can't ride it until the snow melts and it warms up. Hey Ledofthezep, I seen on your site that your rear hubs were powdercoated or painted. What color of yellow is that or is it just plain yellow, because that's the color I want to do mine. Oh, nice site by-the-way!
  25. Just curious, but how did it bend? Reason i'm asking is because i just bought 4 brand new itp's. rear baja's with reinforced rings and t-9 pro series fronts. Thanx
