    Wanted

I'm looking for a straight stock steering stem. Thanks.
  6. I'm more worried about me. My shee can be repaired or replaced, I can't. When the shee is broke it sucks, but when I'm broke I can't work and the shee and my other toys would probaly have to go to pay bills. Maybe I've been injuried to many times to worry about the toy I'm on. 11 screws, 2 plates, and a broken back not all in the same crash
  7. Yesterday on the Dakar Rally on Speed Channel there was a Yamaha 450 dirtbike that was 2 wheel drive. When the back wheel strarted to lose traction the front wheel drive kick in. They said Yamaha made 50 of them worldwide. It won the opening round of the rally. Just thought it was kinda cool.
  8. Thanks for the input. Where can I pickup a clymers at? I'm tearing the whole quad down so I guess I'll split the case to be safe.
  9. Might as well do it now. It's just not fun to ride when you can't feel your fingers.
  10. I had the same problem on mine. The bolts on mine came loose and it wobbled out the holes where the bolts go through the swingarm and through the carrier. I opened up the holes alittle and put larger bolts in and it fixed the problem.
  11. I stomped the hell outa the back brake and bailing didn't even cross my mind all I could think of was how bad it was going to hurt when I hit. The Doc couldn't promise me anything he said if I had trouble down the road I might have to surgery to secure the disk in place. Locogato I broke my collarbone too. It took seven screws and a plate to put it back together. Damm that hurt.
  12. Yes a helmet is always a must for me. I want ride anything without it. I'll have to get a pic of my helmet of it you can tell where my shee wacked the back of it. Not all stories end good my buddy died on his 400ex when he went head first into a pole without a helmet. I think a helmet could have keeped him alive.
  13. I have had my share of crashes and broken bones (due to bmx), but in May I experienced my first hard crash on my Banshee. My buddy took me to a practice track for a couple of local Motocross racers. The guys I was riding with were all riding dirtbikes and not jumping anything so I figured if I started jumping something they would too. I found a nice 40 foot double and hit it a few times with no with problem and they still wouldn't hit anything. So I spotted a 50' right into another 50'. I railed the burn in 2cd hit 3rd wipe open and I was f-cked. While I was mid air I knew I was screwed the front end lifted way to high, when the back tires hit the top of the landing the front of the quad slammed down throwing my head into the bars knocking me out. The next thing I knew I was laying on the ground with my quad about 15' passed me upside down. My buddy said the front bumper of the quad hit the ground flipping me and the quad forwards I landed on my ass and the quad hit the back of my head. I ended up driving myself to the hospital to find out I had fractured the L1 disk in my back and it was sitting up against my spinal cord (1/4" more and I would not be walking right now) A couple weeks later I entered my first race and placed 3rd. God I love quads.
  14. I'm in the middle of rebuilding the top end and was wondering if I should split the motor and clean everything out before putting it back together. The piston and rings both had small pieces missing when I took it apart, but it doesn't look like it went between the piston and cylinder. Also the head on the left side is all dinged up should I have it repaired or should I replace it. I'm tight on funds so I'm trying to do it as cheap as possible. Any ideas what might have caused this? link to pictures of piston and head.BMX WRIGHT
  15. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my top end and was wondering if this head is worth repairing or should I replace it. I don't know how to post a pic so I put a link to my web page. If it's worth repairing how much do you link it would cost. Thanks for any info. BMX WRIGHT
  16. My 97 Shee did the same thing to me about aweek ago. I went to the Badlands in Indiana rode for mabye an hour or so and the left cyclinder died. When I took it apart the upper ring towards the exhaust side was broke and the piece must have been sitting on top of the piston, because the piston and head is trashed. If anyone knows what could have caused this please let me know I don't want this to happen again. The plugs looked ok, the carbs and airfilter were clean, and I just put fresh gas in it. The right side piston and rings are still in good shape. I take some pics of mine later. Here is a link to pics of my piston and head BMX WRIGHT
