  1. I agree it is not optimum.......but it is certainly safe!!! Put it on..you said the bike rips!!
  2. Check your squish..... If it is more than .045 then it is to loose. You can change this by installing a thinner base gasket(assuming you have a thick gasket now). That in turn will raise compression. See where I am going with this????????? Squish should be between .030 and .045.
  3. Doubtful....Measure your squish. And what base gasket do you have? If you have a thick base gasket and to much squish, there is your quick fix!!!!!!!!
  4. St Bernard surpises are bigger than a chihuahua....We had a pair of St. Bernards when I was a kid. I hated cleaning up the yard after them damn things. Land mines everywhere!!!!
  5. It can be done and made to run well......Send it to a reputable builder and they will set it up. There are plenty of 10mils built on 7 mil cubs....and even more 14mils built on 10 mil cubs. And most run very hard!!!!
  6. We really need to know the squish........you also need to ask the builder what base gasket you should be running.
  7. 11 to 3 worked awesome last time!!! I'll put up a post on PS shortly to let those boys know. If we get enough I'll call Bob early this week!!
  8. It was pretty nice waking up at 9am and still being at the track at 9:30!!!! And I did'nt have anything loaded up yet either. Just really sucked that I could'nt stay for the whole show......but work pays the bills!!!!! I definetly missed red light, Tommy and Pops!!!!! Just aint the same!!! Still had a great time. Thinking about renting the track on the 18th. What do y'all think???????????? It would be nice to get a little tuning time in. The big crowds are fun.......but you just don't have time to tune and see if your tuning worked or you went backwards!!!
  9. Rockets are a GRR designed pipe...... RDZ's are basically shearers.....Vitos were made by shearer to Vitos specs.
  10. The engine would certainly like bigger carbs.....but 33's will work just fine!! I had 39.5 TMX's on my old 421 cubbie.
  11. Sorry Dan....no cushions here.
  12. Not sure if I'm gonna make this one boys??????
  13. I use old vp fuel cans for my mixed alcohol......A bit of a pain.....but I know my fuel stays fresh!!!!!
  14. VP fuel comes in a sealed metal container.....It will last a good bit longer in the metal container!!!
  15. For the fuel issue.....I like to only buy enough for the weekend, but if kept in a sealed VP can it should last quite some time. Like most all of the summer or so. As for the 927.....just shake/mix the fuel when you are ready to use it. I always have a little 927/alky mix left over in the spring from the last season. I just shake the hell out of it...Good to go!!!!
  16. Tony Doukas has sleeves for this that when installed the sleeve is actually above positive deck hieght......so no spacer is needed. It also relocates the ports to where they need to be....Not best way to do things...but it would be stealth. NObody would know unless you told them!!! I also would not run a stock rod length, to steep of a rod angle!!! The best for you would probably be to go with a cub setup, but what you want can be done.
  17. I always unplug the cdi...... I know there are some that have not had problems....but it takes a couple seconds.
  18. Dont forget caracal, scimitar, saberteeth, supercub, and the lowly la sleeve cylinders........
  19. Had a great time as well!!!!!!!!!! Good to see some newbies getting the bug!!! The family is getting a little bigger.....with room for more!!!! Fouledout420's bike runs real hard for sure!!!!! I would say he won the HQ title for this race!!!! Good job!!!!! I ran a couple mid 4.20 passes, with most being in the low 4.30's.
  20. Ya 80mm=3.149" diameter.......that is a beefy axle!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I'm in!!!! Momma aint gonna be happy!!!!!
  22. Yup....shawns stuff was stupid fast for sure!!!!!!!!! I would say there is still plenty more left in it!!! The bike will run at least 3.70s when it is all said and done!!
  23. PM me a price on that crank Dan......Thanks!!!
