  1. Yea, I did hear about that, over on TexasATVs.com. And my local feed store has a flyer on it. I don't know if I'm going to make it though, I'm gonna try, but I'm not sure.
  2. and a lot of room...
  3. if your paying anything for them then your throwing money away. if they're free great, otherwise get some real tires, aka Razrs or Holeshots.
  4. No, definitely does not. You should be 25 or even 27.5. The 290 and 4th clip sounds about right with the airbox lid on. Your pilot though, is definitely not right.
  5. maybe the TORS or the parking brake, what year?
  6. How long did it take you to get that right???
  7. I forgot. Demon, could you explain this a little further please? What spring rates are typically used? And if those are a lot stiffer than others, how would the valving need to be setup? This doesn't do much for setting my bike up, but I just want to understand all the aspects that I can and these shocks are somewhat unfamiliar territory for the most part. Later.
  8. Yep, still got the stock swinger. I'd like a -1, but I'd like to ride one first. I'll pony up for one some day. Elka is coming out with a sweet rear shock linkage setup for the banshee this fall. I'll probably hook that up and may spring for a swinger then. Minkia, I was stoked about the spindles. He had even forgotten they were there. He pulled them out of the box they were stored in and was like, oh yeah, i still have the reamed spindles on them. I was like BONUS!!!! -5 huh tats? whats your caster set at? also, i measured my camber with no weight on the quad, I realize now that my weight has to be on the quad for measuring, wonder how much that will change it. 3 degrees???? let's see -8 and then 3 degree change will be -5. Score. My blue Galfer brake lines will be here Monday, and my clamps from dlnoss will be here Mon. or Tues. and then I'm also bumping up my compression some. It was unreal how much it changed the handling. I had the +4 axle and that was a huge improvement, and I didn't think the arms would do as much as they did, seeing that i already had some width in the rear, but it really stabilizes the front end and the steering due to the camber change is amazing. it's like it banks into a corner rather than sliding around a corner. i just need to go ride more. Cool, thanks for the good words.
  9. Yeah, that shock stuff makes sense. I also feel that -8 is a bit much. I was gonna get her down to -4 or 3.5 and see how shee feels. I could tell just from inital ride how improved the handling was and how it almost seemed to lean into the corners. Can't wait to go for a long ride.
  10. Then the list goes on, and it doesn't get any cheaper, that's for sure. Do a search for mods, or what next or anything like that and you should have hours of uninterrupted reading. I ride with a DS sometimes and regularly put my foot up his ass.
  11. copycat!!
  12. Another "which is better" thread. All the oil, pipes, tires subjects have been beat into the ground, so a search might be your goldmine. In case your wondering, I use Silkolene Comp Gear in my crankcase. I like it a lot, and the name Silkolene is cool!
  13. What town in UT, on top of a mountain, or down in the desert? They're pretty easy to put on. Just gotta get the orings to sit right and then you have to torque in a sequential pattern, but it's not bad, and much better than paying your dealer 2 or 3 bones to put it on.
  14. I haven't read what main your running now and your elevation, but my Fatties, w/ VForce, was at 320 & 27.5. I'm going to say your mains are going to be between 280 and 310, and it will depend on how your airbox is setup and your elevation. If you add a K&N and remove the lid, I'll bet you'll be more like 290 to 310, but once again, all machines run differently and you could go either way. That's just from my experience. I have seen people running fatties and no airbox with a 280, I didn't look at their plugs, so I don't know, but don't be afraid to richen if necessary. Worse thing that can happen when too rich is a fouled plug, worse thing that can happen when too lean, BOOM!
  15. I'm personally not real familiar with Amsoil stuff. PM Holylman and talk to him about what you have and how to mix it. I think the 100:1 stuff is actually called "Amsoil 100:1", but I'm not sure.
  16. ummmm, hope you have one helluva port job on that beast, or can you say...... [sound of a gentle breeze], can you hear that air leak??
  17. I'm pretty sure Deuce drives/rides more than that. There is another that mixes 80:1 with Amsoil 100:1 mix and I've heard of more than a few running that stuff at 100:1 w/ no probs. It all depends on the oil. I wouldn't run 2-R at 100:1 but I'd run Amsoil's stuff at 100:1.
  18. it can make it sluggish all the way to not firing at all, or sputtering like a pig. in fact, tats4life was trying to jet is bike and it was a sputtering pig, wouldn't run at all, and he spent hours rejetting and rejetting, turned out he had bad race gas. If it's 4 to 6 months old, dump it and get some new stuff, period!
  19. Yeah, both the Lonestars and ASRs are two lines. I'll get the Galfers ordered shortly I went and rode and it's like I had a camaro yesterday and a ferrari today, I mean, the first corner I took, I leaned and gassed like normal and it handles so much better that I almost threw it in too strong of a powerslide and I cut it too much, like a 180. Once I got used to it, pretty quickly, all I had to do was ask it to take a corner and point it and it went there. The shocks felt really good, combination of the first time out with a stabilizer and the shocks being softer so they soak everything up. Dunedemon, question for you. My "spring" knowledge is fairly limited. The shocks actually felt really good, softer but soaked up everything through 3rd and 4th, however, I didn't hit anything really big, just some moderate stuff. The problem that I know will come is like in the whoops, I'm sure there isn't going to be enough rebound to let me take it at speed. The question I want to ask you, and anybody else who can answer is, how much difference is there going to be between 285lb springs and 300lb springs? Before, it was definitely stiffer, but at speed it handled pretty good, probably could've used it a touch softer, is the added 15lbs going to tighten it up A LOT, or just some, but not a shitload. Also, he's just sending the main spring, so the small spring will still kinda be softer, so it'll probably still soak up the high speed straights a little better and the stiffer spring will hopefully be enough for the necessary rebound and all, I guess. As far as the camber and caster, it felt awesome. tracked perfectly, took it out on the highway and it was straight, no pulling, and cornered like a totally new machine, totally awesome. I have about -8 degrees of camber, too much, but I can't figure out how to adjust it. Ok ok, I kind of know how. I was wanting more like -5 degrees. There is the lock nut on top and I can loosen that, but do I have to remove it from the ball joint just to rotate it back in or out, or am I totally missing something? Alright, lots of reading there, I'll catch ya later.
  20. be cautious with a 240 and check your plugs and don't be afraid to richen it. my personaly instinct tells me that's too lean, more like a 270, but try what you feel is best, but remember, jetting is trial and error, if you don't try, then your not getting anywhere.
  21. Yes, I'm just a little ahead of myself. I'm actually on ebay right now looking for some. I don't want the kind with the two lines out of the master. Anyone know which brand I need to go with? There's a set of Lonestars for $85, and as always, ASR's for around $70. Then I'm gonna need some damn clamps. Why did I get myself into this?
  22. raise your compression. boonman can mill your head for dirt cheap, or you an buy a coolhead / noss head and have a sweet setup. that'll increase power all over.
  23. And one more.
  24. Wheels are on. Haven't taken it out yet.
