  1. What should I run for break in, just to be on the safe side?
  2. Im rebuilding my shee and would like some recomendations on where to start jetting. It is going to have a pro design air filter, modified lid with vents, bored carbs to 28mm, boyesen reeds, stock cages, wiseco pistons 20 over, modified head for pump gas, trail porting, toomey t5's, advanced timing +4 and I think thats it. Im gonna be running castor 927 at 32:1 Located in Miami FL at sea level, temperature usally around 60-90 degrees. Want to know where to start on pilot, mains, and needle clip and it has toomey needles. Also what jetting should i use to break it in? Thanks guys
  3. by nix do you mean get rid of it ?
  4. Ok i bought a vitos billet clutch basket and it brings new cushions for the inside. BUt I was comparing the old cushions to the new ones and it seems like the new ones are all the same size but on the old cushions 4 are smaller and 4 are the same size as the new ones. Should I just put in all the new cushions? They all fit in so i guess its ok?. Also on the stock basket there is like a gasket looking thing that the cushions sit on. Should I put this on the new basket too? I have to cut it a little to fit the new basket. let me know, thanks
  5. Thanks for all the help guys, I'll make sure this thing is sealed up.
  6. Its not for the side cover though, its for the stator and stock plate.
  7. I guess the previous owner had some water inside the stator cover becasue everything is all rusted. I have an adjustable timing plate im trying to install but all the phillips head screws connecting the stator and the magnet to the stock plate on it are stripping out because they are rusted in. I put on some liquid wrench and Even an impact strips them. So I figured I could just grind the head off and order some new screws from Yamaha but then I looked in riva and they only sell the stator assembly, not the screws alone. Does anyone know where I can find these screws? Thanks guys

  13. No the bearings seem to be fine... yeah thats the problem with the stock basket has the basket riveted on to the gear.... once again great yamaha design. i was looking into the vitos billet basket. do the aftermarket basket use bolts? how do you go about installing them? drill out the rivets? does anyone know anything on the vitos basket. thanks guys
  14. I'd say around a quarter inch. Its not very easy to turn either but it does turn , id say around a quarter inch.
  15. OK guys my clutch basket has side to side play with the gear in the back. I read in the manual that if it has play you have to replace the whole setup. Or another option is to buy a billet clutch basket. I really dont have the money for either of those right now so is there any other options? Thanks
  16. Well today I took it to the machine shop and they sadi it would be a couple hour job to rethread it because those arent standard threads and they would have to make a new retainer and tap it. So i just ended up getting some tack welds. should work fine, thanks for the help
  17. Thanks man, Ill look into it.
  18. Thats what I was thinking, around the top threads its pretty bad but the farther down they look pretty clean. I think I'll give that a shot. Ill take it over to my boys machine shop and give it a try.
  19. Damn looks like a huge problem I got my self into here. Just got the frame powdercoated too. anyone have any other suggestions?
  20. Hey guys I was putting my steering bearings in and going to screw on the gold lockplate and I guess I messed up the threads in the frame when I was putting the bearing in. Now the lockplate wont screw in.... What could I do to fix this or do you need the lockplate or no. "lower steering bearing retainer " Thanks
