GO2TheMAXX Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Hey, I have a 2001 Banshee and its all stock, Im going to start modifying my banshee very soon. But for all of you with modified banshees which mods are the best for the money, I plan on racing MX at a local track. Any help would be great. Thanks Kyle Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 did u try a search, theres acouple links to this, but chop ur swingarm, lightenin ur flywheel, mill your head, get some better reeds, and some cheap pipes on ebay if u can, thats a good start pm boonman on the head milling and the flywheel lighening he does a great job Quote
XTShee Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 (edited) A new Air filiter setup and some good pipes suited to MX would be some good first mods. After that for MX I would probably be doing chasis mods first, axle, a-arms and shocks. Also depending on the rules of the track you may need to invest in some nerf bars and a tether kill switch to run. And welcome to the HQ Edited May 5, 2004 by XTShee Quote

Get an air filter setup (i.e. plate, 2-1 Toomey, etc), then a set of midrange pipes (Paul Turner mids, FMF Fatties/Gnarlies, etc.). After that, nerfs. Then suspension. Rear axle, aarms, shocks. The suspension is key for mx. A stock well suspended shee will be faster than a well modded motor and no suspension on the track. Edited May 5, 2004 by sredish Quote
pimp559 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Krazy S had some fatties for sale last week cheap, he might still have them. Hit him up. Quote
GO2TheMAXX Posted May 5, 2004 Author Report Posted May 5, 2004 Hey, thanks for the welcome, im going to get in to contact with boonman and Krazy S, Im for sure getting a new air filter setup, and some pipes if I cant get them from krazy s, i will probably go with Toomey T5's. I have heard good things about Elka shocks too, i might have to give them a try lol. Thanks Kyle Quote
Born2Ride Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 hey, Toomey pipes are an excellant choice for your banshee. Does anyone haveany mods for a 300ex. ? get back to ya later Quote
Hockey390 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 good mod for your 300ex would be buy my banshee frame I have for sale, and then pick up a used banshee engine to slap on it, thats a good start. Quote
GO2TheMAXX Posted May 5, 2004 Author Report Posted May 5, 2004 Haha good one Hockey390 , banshee's are sweet. I talked to boonman and im going to get the head milled, and the flywheel lightned. I also put a "wanted" post in the wanted ads, for a list of hop-ups that i would want. Quote
Banshee~ Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I would change out the pipes and get a K&N filter on it Quote
Dune Ratt Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Get some pipes tires air filter shocks Saftey Gear!!!!!! and change your gearing Quote
Wallrat Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Big Gun Race is a nice pipe for the 300ex. That thing has no balls with the stock pipe. Even piped its still running one nut. That and pull off the airbox lid if you're not worried about water. Quote
Gargamel Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 like the skipping record , filter - pipes Quote
