nickxc Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 I got my clutch cover off and found that I could turn my impeller gear and hold my impeller so if is slipping on the shaft. But I can get the gear off the impeller. I took the E clip and washer off and the gear should just lift off and I cant get it off. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!! Quote
boonman Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 Break it off. And get a new one from the stealer. THey are very cheap. Like under $5 I think..... Quote
Banchetta Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 There is a pin that goes through the gear and through the shaft...... Quote
nickxc Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 I called the stealer and they said $9.65. My clymer manual says it should pull right off but I cant get it. I know there is a pin in there that is prolly sheared off thats why its spinning Right???? Quote
Banchetta Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 (edited) I've never had a pin shear off. the pin is stronger than the plastic....For $10, I'd find a really fast way to get it off..... BFH, grinder, sawsall, etc. Edited April 26, 2004 by Banchetta Quote
nickxc Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 so why do you think its spinning on the shaftf???? and why wont the gear pull right off Im gunna go out to the garrage and break the cock sucker off but Id like to know why its spinning before I get all distructive. Quote
DIRTBIKEZ Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 (edited) Its obvious the pin is "slipping" inside the gear. My guess is the shaft and pin got so hot that it melted its way through the cutout in the gear and then sealed over. That would explain it. Edited April 26, 2004 by DIRTBIKEZ Quote
nickxc Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 Good so it should be an easy fix, I'll just break off my old gear, go to my stealer and get a new pin a gear and put it back together. Quote
