lokisbuddy Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Ok guys here is how I normally do a "Plug chop", First I put my bike up on a block (actually I put it on a firehawk drag slick lol) then I run it through the gears till I reach WOT and then I kill it while holding the clutch in. Is this method acceptable or do I actually have to ride it? Quote
mazuullaa Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 You should ride it and if you can do it on a slight incline for a little resistance it would be better. Quote
quikshee Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I believe it has to have a load put on the wheels when doing a plug chop. Quote
2001Stroker Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Yea, you need a load on it. Warm the engine up with the old plugs. Change the plugs, and run it all the way through the top of 6th gear. Pull the clutch, and kill the engine, then coast to a stop. Use this chart to adjust the jetting. Quote

You guys should pin this chart. answers alot of plug questions. Quote

There are plenty of informational posts in the jetting stickies above. As said....you have to load the engine for a proper reading. That's why a lot of guys dyno tune their stuff. They don't have a back 40 to go rip around on to check...so the dyno puts a load on it to simulate riding it down the road... Quote
