jaredvh Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 (edited) Well I tested my compression cold and got approx 95psi (left) and 105psi (right). Then I took it for a rip, warmed the engine up and tested again. I got 80psi (left) and 90psi (right)... Can somebody tell me if this means my top end is on its way out? I seem to be having an issue with my left cylinder not firing properly. At low RPM's it doesnt seem to be firing but once I rev it up it fires. Through 1st and 2nd I have lack of power but into 3rd it goes like hell. When I pull the plugs the left plug is soaked. I'm running proper jetting for my setup (or so I've been told). And the right side plug is a nice brown so jetting should be fine. I just replaced my reeds so that shouldn't be my issue either. I don't know if maybe the compression is too low that the fuel isn't igniting on the left side.. Edited August 23, 2008 by jaredvh Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 I would change out the pistons and rings and giver a hone jobber. How the cow paddy riding out your way? Quote
black sunshine Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Might want to throw a leakdown test in your plans before you separate the cylinders, maybe a crank seal fouling your plugs. Try a different compression tester if you have access to one, I had the unfortunate experience of using a bunk one Quote
