Da-shee-s-nit Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 The question i have is, could you mess up your clutch by launching in 3rd gear? Sorry for the dumb question Quote
BenBB Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 I doubt it but I don't know, mine would prolly just stall out... Quote
shanYE west Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 If your launching in 3rd gear.. I think you need to change your gearing. But.. No. Launching in 3rd wont hurt the clutch. But. If you have weak springs, incorrect adjustment, or worn components thats allowing you to launch in 3rd... Then that definitely needs to be taken care of. Quote

I don't know any shee that can launch in third gear without stalling. Unless your gearing is way off, or like Shayne said, clutch slipping, bad adjustment, worn or broken springs. Quote
Da-shee-s-nit Posted August 13, 2008 Author Report Posted August 13, 2008 Damn guys!!!!!!! even with a 120 lb. rider on the bike? Also the clutch is fairly new, maybe four rides on it. It is a clutch that has barnett springs, barnett steel plates and friction plates off of a big bore street bike. Quote
