i bought the -2 swingarm but.....

hi everyone,

well i bought the -2 swingarm. the guy said there was no chain guide hookup because it was to short to fit one?

anyways im installing it but ran into some problems. first the prm skid plate i have was to long so i cut it. now the length is good but when i attach it the sprocket hits so i removed the little strip of plastic but now the sprocket and disc just barley touch the sid plate. just a tiny bit but i know it needs to be addressed.

anybody else run into this problem?

any easy fix?

any skid plates out there that have longer tabs than the prm?

I would modify those skid mount tabs to lower that skid!

how do i do that,

the swinger is chrome and i dont want to mess the chrome finish

might be easier to bring it to a fab shob and add a couple inches to the skid plate tabs?

i kno ace hardware by me sells chrome spacers for motorcycles and shit

any where from 1/2" to and inch try a local hardware store or motorcycle shop?

im not having a problem w spacers. its the length of the tabs i guess are to short. the bottom part of the rotor and sprocket are rubbing the skid plate.

maybe i will try a custom skid plate at a fab place?

i though that this may have been a common problem but i guess not. wasnt sure if maybe some skidplates have longer tabs?

if your sprocket and rotor are stock size and wont spin because there bottoming out on the skid plate i would say the swingarm tabs are too short as long as the skid plate is new and has not been tampered with

why not just ditch the skid plate? its just extra weight anyways?

oh waite a second,

if its a roundhouse then you need to make sure that the axle, when rotated, is closer to the top of swing arm. This set the correct ride height and chain angle. It also raises the axle so hopefully it will bring it up high enough to be above the skid plate.
