when I started riding last night, my headlights starting going on and off. if i rev real high they would come on soon as i let off throttle the lights would cut out. checked all electrical connections. none were loose. any ideas what this would be?

yes then they would stay on for a bit, then i had to high rev it again then they would flash on

i swapped voltage regulator with a buddies and still same prob. it was new stator 2 years ago. it happened a few rides ago but went away real quick.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Does it always stay on with the engine revved up? Or does it ever blink off or flicker with the rpm up?

even in high rpm still flashes on off just not as much. sometimes in iddle it stays on till i kick in to gear then goes out.

Check from your headlight ground to the motor for resistance. Check from the headlight positive wire to the stator yellow, and then the voltage regulator lead for resistance. You gotta check with thew switch on.

Was it doing it on high and low beam settings? Does the tailight blink or go out also?

ahh...electrical problems...could be long or could be short...i don't know the schematics of the banshee...but the first thing i would check is the on off switch...jump it and see what happens..could be why its flickering...if that don't work do what the guy said above about the meter thing..this could be long once you get into that...

i had a simaler prob. the person that had the bike before me moved the wires to the top of the motor just under th gas tank and they melted on the exaust and were shorting out on the exaust. also check for chafing were they tie them to the frame.
